Chapter 252 Gossip

Continuing from the previous chapter, Tu Nian and Bo Qiu parted ways on bad terms during their trip to Tianmu Ridge.

After returning to the sect, there were rumors within Jixue that there were some problems between the two.

It can't be said to be a rumor. These two people used to be inseparable, but now they are deliberately keeping apart in terms of food and living. Even a fool can see that something is wrong.

Most of the people in Jixue were not familiar with Bo Qiu, and when they asked Tu Nian, they were given a perfunctory answer. So everyone discussed countless trivial matters in private about these two people who were having a quarrel.

But there are many things to do right now. Jixue and his group have to prepare for the spring trial, and Nie Yanchen and others have to discuss how to resist Yuqing's invasion. This kind of trivial matter can only become a topic of conversation after dinner, and there is no solution after all.

After class that afternoon, Tu Nian came to the cafeteria to eat. Qin An, who was traveling with her, said "Hey" and nudged her.

Tu Nian nodded "hmm" to indicate that he was listening, and the other party then spoke in a low voice.

"I haven't seen you two walking together in a while."

"You said the same thing yesterday. Can you change it to something I haven't heard before?" Tu Nian responded to her lacking interest, leaning forward to sip today's meal.

She glanced over and saw a pot of juicy braised pork, her eyes lit up instantly, but when she saw the long queue behind her, her eyes wilted again.

In the end, he didn't force himself to have this treat. Tu Nian walked to the window of shredded potatoes next to the braised pork and handed the plate to the guy who was serving the food.

Qin An handed her the plate and held her hand with a worried look on his face. "That's why I keep asking you because you act so nonchalant every time I ask you."

"If there's any conflict between two people, just resolve it. It's not good to keep it like this, right?"

Tu Nian pursed his lips and said nothing. Qin An's expression couldn't help but become a little nervous.

After a while, the young man handed back the plate with the dishes. Tu Nian was about to take it, but pulled her hand away.

Qin An's hands were empty, and his heart suddenly tightened. He couldn't help but call her out, "A Nian..."

Before he finished speaking, his hand felt heavy. He looked down and saw that it was his own plate.

"Honestly, I really don't understand why you all think that I have a conflict with that guy."

Handing Qin An the plate, Tu Nian looked at her calmly, "Is it possible that we are just friends? There is no need for us to stick together all day long."

After Tu Nian finished speaking, he walked towards the empty dining table. Qin An reacted for a moment, then came to his senses and quickly took two bowls of soup from the food counter, holding the plates and chasing after him.

"Who said that? Him? Or did you tell him that?"

Qin An's tone was accentuated by a series of questions, but Tu Nian remained calm, sitting down at an empty table as if nothing had happened. "It's such a simple truth, do I really need someone to tell me?"

After hearing what she meant, Qin An finally let out a sigh of relief after thinking about it in his heart.

Qin An sat down opposite Tu Nian with a helpless look on his face and moved the other bowl of soup towards her. "I guessed that she wouldn't say that. Fortunately, you're not that stupid."

Tu Nian took a sip, raised his eyes and frowned, "What do you mean?"

Qin An poked her forehead with a look of disappointment, "What do you think? Stupid girl, who would be willing to stick to you all day without a good reason?"

"You seem to be quite smart usually, so why are you so confused about this?" Qin An said, shaking his head.

Tu Nian didn't think about it that way, but seeing Qin An's gossipy look, he could guess what she was thinking. He said with a sigh, "What could be the reason? Don't let your imagination run wild."

She lowered her head and took two bites of rice. "Eat quickly. We have to prepare for the test for those bastards after we finish eating."

It's obvious that I don't want to talk more about this topic.

Qin An held up his face and looked at her for a while, then said nothing more. The two of them ate quietly facing each other.

In fact, it’s no wonder that she didn’t say anything. Tu Nian’s annoyance was written all over his face. If she said more, he might just turn around and leave.

Tu Nian felt thankful that he could eat these two mouthfuls of food in peace.

Or maybe it's said that girls usually don't get the upper hand in scandals, but just this little thing took her five whole days to complete after she came back from Tianmu Ridge. Everyone from Nie Yanchen to those rascals she brought with her kept nagging her about it over and over again, almost to the point of her ears breaking.

Thinking of this, Tu Nian chewed the shredded potatoes fiercely as if he was chewing fox meat as if to vent his anger.

She was very puzzled. It was obvious that the damn fox Bo Qiu was inexplicably upset with her. There was no reason for it, so how come she was the one being harassed?

She must explain this matter clearly to that damn fox.

Even if he has made up his mind to cause trouble, he has to make it clear so that those gossipy people can harass him with someone else!

Having made up her mind, Tu Nian's eating efficiency soared. Qin An had only eaten half of the same dish, while she had already started drinking the soup to finish it.

Qin An sat opposite her, watching her gulp down the two-pound soup in one gulp, and put down his chopsticks with a subtle expression.

"Anian, if you can't eat this meal, just tell me directly. There's no need to hurt your stomach like this." His tone sounded very sincere.

"You are poor."

Rolling his eyes at her, Tu Nian raised his hand to wipe his mouth and said, "I have something to do and need to go back to the courtyard. After you finish eating, go find Brother Zhan and the others. We'll meet in the classroom."

After saying that, she quickly walked out of the cafeteria with her tray.

Looking at her hurriedly leaving back, Qin An gave a meaningful smile, then she withdrew her gaze and casually picked at the food on the plate.

"You said I was imagining things, but now I have to go back and talk to them, stupid girl."

Tu Nian didn't know that his thoughts had been exposed. He was only thinking about solving Bo Qiu's problem as soon as possible so that he could have some peace and quiet. He ran as fast as he could along the way.

Halfway through the journey, he ran into Shi Yan who was also in a hurry. Tu Nian said hello and was about to leave when he was stopped by the other party. "Tu Nian, you came at the right time. The Sect Master has something for me to bring to you."

Shiyan is a man of meticulous mind and ability to get things done, but he is also very fond of spreading rumors and never stops talking.

Tu Nian had experienced the house arrest very thoroughly the last time, and now he was afraid that this man would dawdle again, so he quickly waved his hand and said to him, "Let's talk later if you have anything to say. I have something urgent to do right now."

Unexpectedly, Shi Yan stopped nagging and said with a frown, "No. The Sect Master said that you should not go anywhere else before the sect is locked. Stay in the teaching area only."

Shit, is she grounded again?

Tu Nian was already furious, and when he heard this, he immediately exploded. "He won't let me go this way, and he won't let me go that way. Even a father wouldn't be like this, right? Tell him that I'm rebellious and let him go wherever he wants!"

Knowing that she had misunderstood, Shiyan quickly stopped her and explained, "That's not what the Sect Master meant."

Tu Nian looked at him with a sullen face.

Shiyan said: "It's Yuqing, Yuqing is here."
