The man seemed not to hear him and continued shouting in a hoarse voice: "Didn't you say there was a new accompaniment that hadn't arrived yet? Is it here now? Huh?"
"Old Jin, if you shout again, you won't be able to eat hot pot tomorrow." Bo Qiu said.
"Wow, brother Bo, you are so disloyal. I have been busy for your performance for so long, and I just want to have a hot pot, but you won't treat me? Well, I won't help you with this matter in the future." After Jin Haiyang finished speaking, he took off his hat and was about to leave.
Of course Bo Qiu knew that Jin Haiyang was just saying that out of anger, but he still took out a piece of chocolate that he had prepared a long time ago from his pocket and stuffed it into Jin Haiyang's hand.
"It's a German brand, cherry bomb with wine filling, very delicious." Bo Qiu said with a smile.
Jin Haiyang's expression relaxed slightly.
"My brother brought back a lot. After the hot pot is finished tomorrow, I'll treat you to some."
"Ahem," Jin Haiyang silently put the chocolate into his pocket, pretending to be serious and saying, "Looking at it this way, it seems there's nothing I need to worry about here. I'm going to take a break. Call me if you need anything. Ahem, I wish you a good performance."
Jin Haiyang was coaxed away, but he didn't do what Bo Wan had done, which was indeed worrying. Since that phone call with Tu Nian yesterday, Bo Qiu hadn't been able to contact her. Whether he called directly or asked Chu Qiurong to ask, Tu Nian seemed to have evaporated, with no news at all.
The accompaniment wasn't a big deal; even without a new arrangement, the song could still be performed. He was worried that if Tu Nian chickened out again at this juncture, he'd be completely helpless. Life was difficult, and he could create opportunities for her. But if she didn't have enough passion and confidence in music, even the most talented student wouldn't be able to teach him.
Bo Qiu was standing not far from the stage, discussing performance details with the staff while frequently glancing in the direction of the stage. About ten minutes later, when Bo Qiu once again glanced toward the path beyond the stage, he finally spotted the figure running towards him.
Tu Nian ran along the path until she was stopped by a security guard. She stopped and breathlessly took out her ID. After the security guard confirmed her identity, he let her in.
The stage staff were doing the final proofreading of the two accompaniments. There were only three solo tracks in the entire performance, and now only Tu Nian's was left. Just as several staff members were discussing whether to contact Bo Qiu to change the accompaniment, Tu Nian finally arrived.
She bent over the edge of the stage, took out a USB drive, and handed it over unsteadily: "The Golden Hairpin, sorry, I'm too late."
"No...it's okay. Is this the final draft? Is there anything we need to revise?" The staff member took the USB drive and asked Tu Nian without blinking.
"No more, just press this." Tu Nian said, breathing heavily.
"Okay... Oh, by the way, the actors are already calling the roll. Hurry up and go over there. They're backstage." The staff member responded blankly and then reminded.
"Okay, thank you." Tu Nian nodded and thanked him, then stood up and walked towards the backstage.
Looking at Tu Nian's back, the staff member was stunned for a long time. He had seen so many carefully dressed actors today, and this was the first time he had seen such an outstanding one.
"What are you looking at?" someone asked from behind.
The staff member narrowed his eyes and slowly replied, "Beautiful lady." As soon as he finished speaking, he suddenly shuddered. That voice? He turned stiffly, and when he saw the person coming, his legs suddenly weakened. "Uncle, Mr. Uncle..."
Bo Qiu put his hands in his pockets and glanced in the direction of the backstage, but the person was gone.
"Does she look good today?" Bo Qiu asked again.
"Good, it looks good." The man could no longer speak clearly.
Hearing the answer, Bo Qiu nodded with satisfaction. He retracted his gaze, patted the man on the shoulder, said "Get busy", and turned away.
As soon as Bo Qiu left, the staff who had only dared to watch from a distance gathered around him and asked him what had just happened. He was stunned for a long time until someone patted him on the shoulder. He wiped the sweat from his forehead and said, "Boss Bo said that we should work hard."
…
At 7:20, everything was ready. In front of the stage, the audience had entered and taken their seats. The background music played non-stop, and the atmosphere was at its peak. All that was left was waiting for the band to take the stage. Backstage, all the actors gathered for a final check-up with Jin Haiyang on the process.
After finishing his instructions, Jin Haiyang clapped his hands and said loudly, "Everyone! I've heard of your excellence. I hope you can perform at your best tonight and give the audience a perfect performance!"
Everyone responded loudly, the blaring background music barely able to drown out the enthusiastic cheers. The mic staff arrived just in time and handed the microphone to the lead singer of the first band, signaling they could take the stage.
The five members of the first band looked at each other, said "Come on" to each other, and slowly walked to the front of the stage.
The audience was already impatient, and as soon as they saw someone take the stage, they erupted in cheers. After a few people took their places, Bo Qiu's voice echoed from all directions of the stage.
"Good evening, everyone! I'm Erxi. First of all, I'm delighted that you've all come to my performance. Today's performance, centered around the theme of 'growth,' will be divided into three parts: 'Looking Back,' 'Present Perspective,' and 'Looking Ahead.' These three parts will feature adapted songs from predecessors and my own past works, expressing my journey since the beginning of my career. At the end of the performance, I'll present three new compositions, summarizing my previous work and dedicated to everyone in the audience. I hope we all have a wonderful evening."
The speech concluded with applause from the audience. Then, with the drums starting to beat, the guitar, bass, and keyboards began playing simultaneously, and the lead singer's clear voice resounded throughout the venue, raising the atmosphere to a climax again, and the performance officially began.
Lights, music, chorus and cheers of thousands of people, in just one hour, the heat wave from the main stage in the center of Yaoguang Square has gradually spread to the entire square.
Bo Qiu's vision was indeed sharp. The singers and musicians he selected for the stage were all of far superior talent. Both themes were completed, and so far, everything was going smoothly.
The high-level performance and singing satisfied the audience, but the best is often arranged at the end.
The performers for the third part "Far Away Looking" are naturally the most outstanding ones among the crowd, and Tu Nian is one of them.
There was one more song on stage, and after that it was the third band's turn. The third band, led by the lead singer, was now fully prepared and quietly waiting in the waiting area.
