Chapter 29: The Final Settlement

Seeing that Chu Qiurong was extremely depressed, Tu Nian leaned over and touched his shoulder. "Come on, just make things clear. There's no need to dwell on trivial matters. No matter which family I am from, I will always be your junior sister, right?"

As she spoke, her face was full of playfulness. Chu Qiurong had never been one to dwell on trivial matters. After being coaxed by her, she quickly smiled and pursed her lips, "That's right."

The conversation about their pasts came to an end, and the two of them walked along the path outside the courtyard. Tu Nian kicked a stone and asked him, "So, you've been to see our senior brother. How do you think he's doing?"

Chu Qiurong thought for a moment and said, "When I went there, the eldest brother was just about to wake up. Apart from looking a little pale, he seemed to have no other symptoms."

Tu Nian lowered his head and pursed his lips, "That's good."

It seems that she is not at risk of being implicated at the moment.

"Oh, right," Chu Qiurong remembered she had forgotten to bring something after being reminded by her, and said with a smile, "Big Brother also asked me to tell you that this time, the demon barrier was all thanks to you. I'll come and thank you in person when he feels better."

"Stop!"

Tu Nian refused categorically, and said with a subtle expression: "It's better to take good care of him, so that he won't have to see me again and let me harm him again."

Her words were so illogical that Chu Qiurong was stunned at first, then suddenly realized, "Junior Sister, are you still angry about what San'er said?"

Tu Nian shrugged, "How dare I?"

That being said, Chu Qiurong was not a fool, and she could still hear the dissatisfaction in her tone.

Chu Qiurong was not one to be trifled with by the two brothers, so she didn't know what to say for the moment. She could only coax them gently, "You know San'er, he's always reckless and never thinks before he speaks."

"This time, my senior brother suffered, and he was anxious because he couldn't help. When he knows that my senior brother is fine, he will definitely come and apologize to you."

As he spoke, he took Tu Nian's arm and teased her with a smirk on his face, "Junior sister, you are a magnanimous person. Please don't argue with them for now, okay?"

This trick really worked. Tu Nian was so irritated by Chu Qiurong's mean look that he pushed her away and scolded her with a smile, "You shameless bastard, you want to coax me and hug me."

"So you've been asked to do all the good things for me, and you've taken advantage of me. The abacus beads are hitting me so hard they're almost breaking my face."

"That's right."

Chu Qiurong was like a piece of taffy. After being pushed away, she approached with a look of grievance on her face, "I didn't take good care of you during the training. I regret it so much that my intestines are turning green."

Tu Nian rolled her eyes and was about to scold him for being pretentious, but Chu Qiurong's expression suddenly changed and she looked at her seriously, "But then again, what happened after I left? Why were you gone when I came back? Why didn't I look for you later, but I couldn't find you either?"

Tu Nian was speechless for a moment before curling his lips and saying, "What else could it be? It's just the sin of my former junior sister. I don't know where the people from our sect were brought in from, and they worked together with her..."

"Wait," Chu Qiurong raised her hand to interrupt her, "Inside and outside cooperation?"

"yes."

Tu Nian responded blankly, then seeing the other person's increasingly strange expression, she suddenly came to her senses and slapped her thigh, "Yeah! I almost forgot about this. Don't you recognize that girl? Call her..."

Chu Qiurong frowned and continued, "Lin Qingqing?"

Tu Nian nodded vigorously, "Yes, it's her. The girl just told you to leave, and Su You followed right after her."

If anyone said that they had nothing to do with each other, she would not believe it even if she beat either of them to death.

"So..."

Chu Qiurong belatedly recalled what happened afterwards, "When you entered the country and didn't return, I went looking for you. It was because she said she saw you near the entrance of Fushan Cave that I left the country and stopped looking for you."

"Well, that's a sure thing. I was unconscious at the bottom of the cliff at the time. She could have seen me, unless she was unconscious too."

After saying that, Tu Nian smacked his lips and gave him a slightly playful look, "I thought only Yuqing Sect would have this kind of thing happen, but it turns out our sect is also quite lively."

Jixue Valley was not a big sect to begin with, and such an incident was already considered a scandal. Chu Qiurong grew up in the sect, and when she heard about such a thing, she was extremely angry.

For a moment, Chu Qiurong's expression was unusually serious. After a moment, he lowered his eyes, took Tu Nian's hand without saying a word, and walked quickly towards the outer door.

His strides were long, and Tu Nian barely managed to jog to keep up. He asked in surprise, "The outer sect is doing morning exercises right now. You're making such a big show. Do you think the girl still has any dignity left?"

Without even turning her head, Chu Qiurong said coldly, "You give yourself face. If she wants to plot against you, even if she doesn't want that face anymore, others can't keep it even if they want to."

The schedule of the outer sect of Snow Valley is famous for being casual, so the daily morning exercises are the busiest time in the entire outer sect.

As usual, Lin Qingqing was practicing sword skills with many fellow disciples in the courtyard, but she was only halfway through when she heard a chaotic sound of footsteps coming from outside.

"Qingqing!"

Upon hearing the voice, Lin Qingqing put her sword back to her waist. When she looked up, she saw her senior sister on duty outside waving at her, so she hurried over.

"What's wrong, Senior Sister?"

"Senior Brother Chu is outside and said he wants to see you."

"Senior Brother Chu?"

When Lin Qingqing heard that it was Chu Qiurong who came to see her, she couldn't help feeling happy.

The sister on duty obviously knew what she was thinking and quickly leaned over to whisper in her ear, "Don't be too happy just yet. I think my brother doesn't look right. You should be careful with your words later."

Only then did Lin Qingqing notice that her senior sister had a slightly ugly expression on her face. She felt a little uneasy and turned around to look at Ding Rong.
