After getting up and washing up, Wen Mianmian remembered that today was the day for paying respects. It was already 9 o'clock, so the time for paying respects had passed.
Thinking of this, Wen Mianmian said it out loud.
"Master, rest assured. Master, I specifically instructed you when you left. I also sent someone to ask for leave from the Concubine early this morning. Master, don't worry."
After a pause, he said, "Master, the second lady just came over." Then he told the story of the second lady's encounter with Nianhulu.
Wen Mianmian didn't think the matter was that serious. Perhaps it was because this Nianhulu Gege had just entered the palace and there were still many things she didn't understand, so she spoke out of turn.
Wen Mianmian packed up and drank some of the spiritual fruit juice she had brewed earlier. She felt much better and went outside to find Tiantian.
Tiantian knew that her mother was fine, so she sat outside and ate the snacks that Shancha had just brought in.
I had just taken a few bites when I saw my mother coming out of the house.
Tiantian quickly put down the snack, with a sweet smile on her face, and shouted, "Mom, you're awake."
"What are you eating again?" Wen Mianmian saw that there were still some crumbs at the corners of her mouth, and she had eaten most of the pastries on the table.
"Hehe, it's just a little bit of cake." Tiantian smiled and took her mother's hand, and the mother and daughter came to the warm couch and sat down.
Wen Mianmian took out a handkerchief and wiped the residue from the corner of her mouth. She said unhappily, "Look at you. Just eat your food well. If someone sees you like this, you'll be laughed at."
When Tiantian saw her mother's actions, she knew that there was something on the corner of her mouth. She smiled embarrassedly, took her mother's handkerchief and wiped the corner of her mouth roughly.
"Oh, mother, when I came here just now, I met the new Princess Niuhulu. She told me that you were not feeling well, and I was so worried."
When Tiantian talked about this, her face showed some anger. This Nianhulu Gege was so evil that she actually dared to deceive her with her mother's safety.
"I know about this. Maybe she just arrived at the mansion and doesn't know the situation. But you, why are you here at this time?" Normally, Tiantian should be learning with her master in the front yard at this time.
"My master asked for leave, so I came to see my mother. I thought the weather was nice today, so I wanted her to teach me how to cook."
"Cooking!" Wen Mianmian was a little surprised. She stretched out her hand and placed it on Tiantian's forehead. Then she muttered, "You don't even have a fever, why are you talking nonsense?"
Tiantian didn’t know what her mother meant at first, but after hearing what her mother said, three black lines appeared on her forehead.
Tiantian reached out and took the hand that her mother had placed on her forehead away, "Mother, I don't have a fever. I'm telling the truth."
She really wanted to learn how to cook from her mother.
Wen Mianmian saw that she didn't look fake, "Then can you tell mother why?"
"Hehe, I want to eat the pancakes made by my mother. Although I can make them, I want to try it myself."
She just happened to have some time, so she came to her mother to teach her after breakfast.
And she also wanted to try making her own pancakes.
Wen Mianmian raised her eyebrows slightly, not expecting this to be the reason, "Do you really want to learn?" Wen Mianmian felt a little worried, hoping that the stove would not be burned.
Tiantian nodded quickly, "I want to~"
"Okay, mom will teach you." After hearing what Tiantian said, Wen Mianmian also wanted to eat pancakes.
If you start making it now, it will be lunchtime by the time it is done. This pancake will just be enough to fill your stomach.
The two changed into light clothes and went to the kitchen. The most important thing to make pancakes is to fry the fruit graters and prepare the batter. If these two things are not done well, the pancakes will not be made.
Wen Mianmian first taught Tiantian how to knead dough to make dumpling wrappers. Tiantian kneaded the dough according to the techniques and water ratio taught by her mother. Although the water and techniques were correct, the dough kneaded by Tiantian was completely different from that kneaded by Wen Mianmian.
Wen Mianmian has already kneaded the dough until it is smooth and chewy, and can be rolled out into dough sheets, but Tiantian's dough is still clumpy and a bit sticky.
Maybe there was too much water, so I added a little more flour, and then there was too much flour. The dough became hard and it was difficult to even knead it. The dough fell apart after a few kneadings.
Tiantian was like a deflated ball, looking at her mother with resentful eyes.
Wen Mianmian shook her head and gave her half of her dough. Her dough was no longer usable, so she would ask someone to make dough balls with it later. She couldn't let it go to waste.
Then she asked her to use a rolling pin to roll out the dumpling wrappers. The dumpling wrappers were okay, but Tiantian rolled them a bit thick, so Wen Mianmian asked her to roll them thinner.
However, because Tiantian rolled the dumpling skin too thin, it broke as soon as she picked it up.
Finally, Tiantian finally rolled out the dumpling skins after several rounds of guidance from her mother. Although they were a bit thick, they would be fried in the oil pan soon, so it didn’t matter if the dumpling skins were a little thick.
After all these were done, Wen Mianmian asked her to prepare the batter. If the batter was prepared well, the skin would be crispy, otherwise it would be soft.
The batter was okay and Tiantian prepared it quickly. Then I prepared the sauce, marinated some chicken strips and various side dishes, and then fried the fruit grates. The most important thing about frying the fruit grates is the oil temperature, which cannot be too high or too low.
Wen Mianmian asked Tiantian to use a knife to cut two small cuts in the middle of the dumpling skin. Then, after the oil was hot, Wen Mianmian put chopsticks in to test the oil temperature. When she saw some slight bubbles near the chopsticks, the oil temperature was about right.
Then Wen Mianmian puts the dumpling skins in and fry them until they start to bubble and float. Don’t fry them for too long or they will turn black.
After demonstrating a few times, Wen Mianmian let Tiantian do it herself.
Tiantian was in a panic at first and was almost scalded by the splashing oil.
Fortunately, Tiantian got much better after getting used to it. At the beginning, several dumplings were broken. When they were taken out, the skins were fried black and obviously inedible. After her mother’s guidance, she got much better later.
Then Wen Mianmian taught Tiantian how to roll out the dough. At the beginning, several pieces were broken, but they were spread out well. However, the dough was broken when it was turned over.
After failing several times, Tiantian finally made a decent pancake.
Mianmian also made several herself. There was still some batter left, so she asked the eunuch in the small kitchen to make some. After that, they shared it among themselves.
Wen Mianmian divided the few pieces she had just prepared in half and then had someone deliver them to Xuanxuan and the quadruplets.
She also asked Shancha to send a portion to Honghui and Da Gege as well. Whether they ate it or not was up to them.
Tiantian ate the pancake she had fried with a depressed look on her face.
Wen Mianmian was eating with gusto when she saw Tiantian's depressed look and said with a smile, "What's wrong? Aren't you happy eating the pancakes you made yourself?"
