Chapter 333 Miscalculated

The family sat in the main room and talked for a while, and then Han Zhenyu picked up the water from the stove and went to the bathroom.

After he came out, everyone in the family went back to their rooms.

Chenchen found a set of clothes for himself and took Yuan Haoran to wash up.

Han Zhenyu wiped his head and pushed open the bedroom door, only to see three people lying on the kang.

He paused for a moment as he was wiping his head and looked at the two little girls lying together.

Tiantian was already fast asleep, Anan's eyes were sparkling, and the little girl was grinning at him with her big mouth showing a missing front tooth.

"Uncle Han, Aunt Su, my sister and I will sleep over here. You can sleep at the head of the kang. You are tall and it is spacious over there. You won't kick us when you fall asleep."

Han Zhenyu didn't say anything and glanced at his wife who was trying to hold back her laughter.

He asked, "Why is this girl sleeping here?"

Before Su Xieqiu could speak, An An said quickly, "Uncle Han, I don't want to sleep with my brother and my younger brother. They are annoying and always kick me when I sleep."

Han Zhenyu looked at her speechlessly, wanting to send the little girl to sleep in that room. Perhaps An An saw through his thoughts and had already covered her head with the quilt.

Su Xieqiu chuckled, "Alright, let her sleep here tonight, and clean up your eldest daughter's room tomorrow. She has already planned how to deal with it, and is waiting for you to come back and help her clean it up."

Han Zhenyu looked at his wife aggrievedly, "Then where do I sleep?"

"Didn't your eldest daughter tell you to sleep at the head of the kang? It's such a wide place, there's not enough room for you."

Su Xieqiu lay on the pillow, smiled and pointed in the direction of the kang, "Hurry up and rest. Separate that room tomorrow. The children are grown up, and there will be guests coming to the house occasionally. It is not convenient to live together."

Han Zhenyu sighed helplessly and put the towel on the rack. He stared at Su Xieqiu for a while before going to the kang pitifully.

He thought to himself that he would clean up the little girl's room tomorrow morning and not let her sleep here at any cost.

Han Zhenyu tossed and turned, unable to sleep, until he heard An An's even breathing.

He quietly crawled to Su Xieqiu's side and whispered, "Wife, the two girls are asleep, let's have a heart-to-heart talk."

Su Xieqiu looked at the person she hadn't seen for a long time and missed him very much, but An An was sleeping next to her, so she really couldn't do anything silly.

She wrapped herself tightly in the quilt and said, "Go to sleep quickly and tidy up your daughter's room first."

Han Zhenyu tugged at her blanket, but Su Xieqiu kicked his hand away and threatened him, "Behave yourself, or I'll sleep with An An every day."

Han Zhenyu glared at her angrily, then hugged her and kissed her a few times before reluctantly returning to his bed.

………

Early the next morning.

Before everyone in the family got up, Han Zhenyu went to find the village carpenter.

He had originally planned to build it slowly, but after seeing what happened last night, he decided to ask for help.

Try to pack up as much as possible today and let the little girl move in to sleep tonight.

Han Shengwen and his father were busy working in their private plot outside the door when they saw Han Zhenyu coming over on a bicycle.

He asked, "What are you doing here?"

Han Zhenyu got off his bicycle, gave each of the two a cigarette, and then said to Han Shengwen: "Are you free today? Go and help me separate a small room. The children are all grown up and can't sleep in one."

Han Shengwen stopped what he was doing and said, "When you have time, what are you going to do? I only know how to do carpentry work, but I can't build a wall."

"No, I won't build a wall." Han Zhenyu told him about his plan. "I mean to use wooden boards to separate a small room, and then install a door. Do you think this is feasible?"

Han Shengwen thought about it and suggested to him, "Because there is a kang underneath, it is not easy to fix it with just a layer of wood. Why not build a row of shelves on the kang and fix them directly to the wall. Then leave a door, so that you can put things and it is sturdy."

Han Zhenyu thought that his idea was good, but it might not be completed in one day, and there was not enough wood at home.

He asked, "Do you have any wood readily available at home?"

"Yes, but Uncle Ding has already made the appointment. His daughter is getting married during the Chinese New Year. If you are not in a hurry, I can help you in a couple of days."

As soon as Han Shengwen finished speaking, his father smiled and said, "It's still a long way from the New Year. Your uncle Ding is not in a hurry, so give it to Zhenyu first."

"Thank you, uncle." Han Zhenyu thanked him quickly, and after thinking for a while, he said, "Uncle, if you have nothing to do, go and help me. I have to go on a business trip in two days, and I want to tidy up the house before leaving."

Carpenter Han said cheerfully, "Okay, Shengwen and I will go over with the wood later, and we should be able to finish building the scaffold today."

"That's great, uncle. I brought some fish back from the south this time. I'll stew it for you to try at noon." Han Zhenyu gave the father and son another cigarette and rode back on his bike.

When he passed by Sun Erhua's house, he bought a few pieces of tofu and two pounds of bean sprouts.

When Han Zhenyu came out carrying the basket, he happened to meet Han Baoguo.

He was holding a small bag of beans in his hand, probably to exchange for tofu. His face was untidy and his coat was so dirty that it looked unsightly.

Han Zhenyu acted as if he didn't see him and didn't even bother to say hello. He slung the basket on the handlebars and prepared to get on and leave.

Han Baoguo suddenly shouted behind him: "Boss, your sister got married two days ago. Her husband's family is from Mazhai. Your brother-in-law is called..."

Han Zhenyu interrupted him, "I don't have a sister, so it's none of my business who gets married. Don't disgust me with these things in the future." After saying that, he rode away on his bicycle without looking back.
