Han Zhenyu put the washed green vegetables in a basket and sat next to her with a head of garlic.
"Wife, do you have any good suggestions?"
"I don't know what Yuan Liyong wants them to do, so I can't give you any advice. It's up to you to decide. Whoever you think is suitable should go."
Su Xieqiu took out some strawberries and cherries from the space, and the two ate while chatting.
Normally, they didn’t dare take these rare fruits out, so Han Zhenyu and his friends ate them secretly.
Han Zhenyu spat out the fruit core and talked about his plan.
"I plan to let Han Lei's elder brother and Da Shu's cousin take up the two temporary jobs. They are strong and can endure hardships, so they should be able to do the work in the slaughterhouse."
"If Yuan Liyong needs help, let Lei Zi and Da Shu go over and give it a try. Add in Da Han Ge's Tie Zhu and Xiao Hong's husband, and there will be exactly four of us."
Yan Xiaohong is Aunt Du’s eldest daughter and got married a year earlier than Han Zhenyu.
Last winter, Du Yuejuan got her a temporary job in the canteen of the machinery factory. If nothing goes wrong, she will be able to get a permanent job this year.
Yan Xiaohong's husband earns work points at home, takes care of the children, and pastes matchboxes at night. He is a very capable man.
"Wife, do you think this arrangement is appropriate?" Han Zhenyu put a strawberry to her mouth and asked with a smile.
Su Xieqiu nodded slightly, indicating his agreement. "It's quite suitable. Go to the village this afternoon and tell the people who are helping to come over for dinner tomorrow. Tell Han Lei and the others about the work and ask them to discuss it with their families."
"Okay, I'll go after I eat." Han Zhenyu pinched two cherries and put them in his mouth, and went to make boiled prawns. His wife likes them.
………
The couple had a sumptuous lunch today, with fish, shrimps, soup, and vegetables, all prepared by Han Zhenyu.
After dinner, Han Zhenyu rode his bicycle to the village.
He first thanked those who helped and invited them to his home for a simple meal the next day.
Finally, I went to find Han Lei and Sun Dashu.
Han Zhenyu didn't say anything at their home. He took the two of them to the river and talked to them about going to the city to work.
"Brother Zhenyu, you actually found a job for us? And thirty yuan a month?" The two were surprised and happy, looking at him in disbelief.
Han Zhenyu smiled and nodded. "There are two temporary workers in the slaughterhouse. I originally wanted to let you go. But my friend needs someone to help run errands. So let your cousin Dashu and your elder brother Leizi go to the two temporary positions. They are both strong and should have no problem carrying half a pig."
"Brother, what should we do?" Han Lei asked.
Han Zhenyu saw a few children fishing in the river, so he put his arm around their shoulders and walked to the side, then lowered his voice and said:
"You two, Tiezhu, and my eldest brother-in-law, will follow my friend to trade some goods. If you are not assured, forget it, I will find someone else. You two can go to the slaughterhouse to work, but you brothers cannot go."
Han Lei and Sun Dashu looked at each other and decided to run errands for his friend without any hesitation.
They grew up with Han Zhenyu and knew him very well.
If there was any real danger, Brother Zhenyu wouldn't let them do it.
What's more, this time even his elder brother-in-law and Tiezhu have been called, so there is even less to worry about.
Han Zhenyu patted the two on the shoulders and said, "Don't worry, my friend is a very loyal person. As long as you are down-to-earth, he will not treat you unfairly."
"Brother, don't we still trust you? From childhood to adulthood, you have never left us behind when there is a good thing. Don't worry, we will do our best and never let you lose face in front of your friends."
Han Lei and Sun Dashu raised their hands to assure him.
Those kids who were slacking off thought that they had made a mistake and apologized to Han Zhenyu.
A few little boys were laughing, pointing and mocking them.
When Han Lei saw this, he glared at them deliberately and raised his fist at them, and then the children turned around with smiles.
Han Zhenyu pushed his bicycle and said, "Go back and discuss it with your family. If there is no problem, come with me to the city to work the day after tomorrow morning. The work at the slaughterhouse will not start until the beginning of next month. I will come to inform them then."
"Got it, brother. We'll go back and prepare now and wait for you at the village entrance the day after tomorrow morning." The two of them grinned happily.
If there weren't a few children watching the fun in the river, they would both jump around on the spot to express their feelings at the moment.
Han Zhenyu got on his bicycle and reminded them before leaving: "Take your wife there early tomorrow. Your sister-in-law said she wants to prepare three or four tables, so she will be busy by then."
"Okay, brother, we'll go after breakfast."
Han Zhenyu said "hmm", waved to them, and rode his bicycle to the brigade headquarters.
He is going to invite the team leader and the accountant to his home for dinner tomorrow.
The captain was not there, so Han Zhenyu planned to go to his house in the evening to invite him and bring the Zhongshan suit to him.
After leaving the brigade headquarters, Han Zhenyu also planned to visit his cousin's home in Sunlou Brigade.
As soon as he arrived at the entrance of the village, he saw a woman carrying a basket walking towards him from a distance. Judging from her direction, she must have returned from the city.
When I got closer, I saw it was Wang Shulian.
Han Zhenyu got off his bicycle and greeted with a smile: "Sister Shulian, are you going to the city?"
Wang Shulian was walking forward with her head down. When she heard his voice, she quickly raised her head and revealed a gentle smile.
Seeing that there were not many people around, I whispered to him, "Brother Zhenyu, I collected some eggs and mountain products from the nearby village and sold them in the city this morning. I earned more than one yuan."
