Han Zhenyu and Su Xieqiu sat in the park until the sun set, then rode their bicycles slowly back home.
As soon as they reached the entrance of the alley, they saw a young man in his twenties running out in a hurry, holding a cotton coat in his hand.
Grandpa Sun was holding a thick wooden stick and chasing after him aggressively.
He chased after her while yelling, "You bastard, you've been idle all day, doing nothing but fooling around outside every day. If you don't go to work tomorrow, I'll break your legs!"
"Old man, I told you a long time ago that I don't like that class. Why do you keep forcing me to go?"
As the young man ran, he turned around and shouted to Grandpa Sun: "I can support myself even if I don't work, so just leave me alone and enjoy your life at home. I'll bring you a grandson next year."
When Grandpa Sun heard this, he almost got angry and could only stop helplessly as he looked at his son who had already run far away.
He was breathing heavily and cursing.
Han Zhenyu and Su Xieqiu looked at each other and hurried over to support him.
"Uncle Sun, are you okay?" Han Zhenyu asked with concern.
Grandpa Sun took a while to calm down, then sighed, "Zhenyu, I'm fine. That bastard just now is my youngest son. He took over my job in the printing factory two years ago. He used to do a good job, but he has been absent from work frequently since last year. Before the New Year, he even told me that he wanted to resign, and he refused to listen no matter how much I tried to persuade him. I was almost pissed off to death."
Han Zhenyu had just heard their conversation and roughly guessed why Grandpa Sun's son didn't want to go to work. Most likely, he was doing business.
He smiled and advised: "Uncle, young people nowadays have their own ideas. Since he can support himself and make money, you should stop caring about it. Think positively and live happily with my Aunt Sun."
Grandpa Sun sighed, "Zhenyu, I can't control him anymore. That brat never listens to anything I say to your aunt, and he won't go home when he gets tired of nagging. Last time, he was beaten up by his two sisters, but it was no use."
Grandpa Sun shook his head helplessly, he was really worried about his youngest son.
He has three children. The eldest and second are daughters. Not only did they marry well, they were also capable.
It makes the old couple feel very respected in the neighborhood.
The younger son used to be very obedient and took over his class after graduating from high school.
But who could have thought that he would give up his good job and instead follow others to engage in speculation.
He and his wife lived in fear every day, with no one to complain to. He also didn't dare to tell anyone, for fear that someone would find out and report his son.
Han Zhenyu saw that he was frowning, thought for a moment and said, "Uncle Sun, don't worry. If you believe me, next time your brother comes back, tell me. I'll talk to him and help you find out what he thinks."
Han Zhenyu said this out of selfish motives. He wanted to find Grandpa Sun's son to learn more about the market here, but he was sincere in saying that he wanted to help persuade him.
Grandpa Sun still trusted him very much, and when he heard him say that he wanted to help persuade his disappointing son, he hesitated for a moment, and then told him some of what his son was doing.
"Zhenyu, that bastard might be engaging in speculation. If you can persuade him to stop, I would really thank you very much."
Han Zhenyu thought, and he was right. He thought about it and advised sincerely: "Uncle, I don't know what my brother is doing yet, so it's hard to draw a conclusion. But have you noticed that the current policy is getting looser? The higher-ups are not cracking down on speculation anymore. Do you think this is a signal?"
After hearing what he said, Grandpa Sun suddenly realized that it seemed to be true.
But they have all suffered hardships before at this age, and they feel that having a job is more stable.
But his son wouldn't listen, and he had no choice but to pin his hopes on Han Zhenyu to see if he could persuade the boy to mend his ways.
So Grandpa Sun didn't hide anything and told the truth: "Zhenyu, I don't know what that guy does. But he often brings back some messy clothes and takes them away again after a few days. He might be reselling clothes."
Han Zhenyu understood what Grandpa Sun meant. Although he knew that the policy had been relaxed, he still didn't want his son to work in this field.
He smiled and said, "I understand, Uncle Sun. Next time he comes back, tell me and I will help you persuade him."
"Okay, okay, then I'll thank Zhenyu first."
Grandpa Sun felt much better knowing that his son was not in any danger, and he was finally able to sleep peacefully at night.
………
After an afternoon of practice, Grandpa Du has become able to drive the tricycle skillfully.
He also said that he would ride a tricycle to buy groceries tomorrow.
Han Zhenyu was worried, so he asked him to practice for two more days before going out.
After breakfast the next day, Han Zhenyu and Su Xieqiu took the packed specialties and drove to Yu Peihua's house.
When leaving, he specifically told Chenchen and Anan to look after their great-grandfather and not to ride too far.
"Today is not a day off. I wonder if Peihua is at home?" Su Xieqiu said.
Han Zhenyu parked the car on the side of the road, picked up the things in the back seat and said, "Let's go to her house first. If she's not there, let's go to her workplace."
Su Xieqiu immediately shook his head. "No, she works in the procuratorate. It's not good for us to take our things to her workplace. Others might think we're using the back door."
Han Zhenyu raised the things in his hand with amusement, "Who would take vermicelli and black fungus through the back door?"
They brought a lot of things today, two full bags, but they were all pine nuts, hazelnuts, fungus, vermicelli, and a bag of apples, none of which were valuable.
"That won't work either." Su Xieqiu still refused.
She took the bag of vermicelli from Han Zhenyu and said, "Let's go to her house first. If no one is there, wait a while. She will definitely go home for lunch."
"Okay, I'll listen to you." Han Zhenyu locked the car door, and the two went to the family quarters of the procuratorate.
But they were stopped as soon as they reached the door.
Han Zhenyu and Su Xieqiu didn't expect that there were security guards on duty in the family compound, and lamented that they had never seen the world.
Han Zhenyu took out his ID first and said politely: "Hello comrade, we are friends of Yu Peihua, can you help notify her?"
The security guard looked at the name on his ID and nodded, "Okay, wait a moment."
He hung up a phone call and went in. A woman in her fifties came out, holding a little boy's hand, and a little girl was beside her.
When they came up to them, the woman looked at Han Zhenyu and Su Xieqiu and asked in confusion, "Are you looking for Peihua?"
Before the two of them could speak, the little girl next to them blinked and suddenly shouted in surprise: "Uncle Han? Aunt Su?"
Su Xieqiu smiled and nodded, "Xiao Luoluo, long time no see."
"Oh, it's Aunt Su." Luo Luo held the woman's hand and said excitedly, "Grandma, grandma, this is Uncle Han and Aunt Su who saved my mother and me on the train."
