Chapter 29 Meeting with Scotland [VIP]

Chapter 29 Meeting with Scotland [VIP]

Morofushi Kagemitsu and Furuya Rei quickly disguised themselves, changing into jackets. Their sharp eyes made them look like they weren't to be trifled with. They sat down at a table in the corner, and the men and women would occasionally walk over there to flirt with them. After all, those who came here were not simple people, and they naturally didn't dare to force their way in.

"A mint julienne," Rei Furuya said with a smile to the waiter beside him. A mint julienne is made with mint, bourbon whiskey, crushed ice, and other ingredients. Some recipes also include a small amount of Scotch whiskey and gin.

“Oh, no, no, two shots of Godfather will do.” Morofushi Hiromitsu smiled, stopping Furuya Rei from drinking such a strong liquor. He looked at the other man, raising an eyebrow, “How can someone who drinks whiskey miss Godfather, right?”

“That’s true.” Furuya Rei didn’t refute, and waved for the waiter to prepare.

The Godfather, a cocktail with an alcohol content of 25%, is a blend of Scotch whisky and amaretto, served with a cinnamon stick or orange peel. This classic combination, along with its smoky flavor, creates a rich and complex taste. The slightly brownish liquid, as its name suggests, exudes a mysterious and gentlemanly air. Some say the Godfather is the first drink for a mature man.

When Cheng arrived at the bar, he attracted a lot of attention. Even though he was wearing sunglasses, a mask, and a hat, his figure was still recognizable. He looked like a clueless young man. After looking around, he sat down a bit away from Bourbon and the others.

"Little brother, did you sneak out for drinks behind your family's back?" A young lady came over and teased, since Cheng's attire made it hard not to think he had run away.

"Beautiful lady, a cup of Campari... oh no, a cup of Portoni Groni~" Cheng You took off his sunglasses after sitting down, slightly raised his eyebrows and looked at the beautiful lady next to him.

Seeing his sweet talk, the young lady couldn't resist teasing him: "Call me 'sister'~ 'Miss' isn't really suitable for me~"

"Why is it not suitable? You're so young, you don't look much older than me."

“Wow~ You’re just as sweet as Portney Groni~ Wait a minute, little brother.” She raised an eyebrow, her slender figure turned around, walked towards the front desk, and whispered, “I wonder which official or rich man’s child you are. Keep an eye on him, don’t let anything happen here.” She reminded the plainclothes security guard at the front desk.

The security guard scoffed, "It's just a little kid. What are you afraid of?"

“Little brats? I’m scared? I, Wendia, am not afraid of anyone. I’m just afraid you’ll cause trouble. I’ve worked here for so many years, I’ve seen all kinds of people. I can tell what kind of person someone is just by looking at their eyes.” She curled her lip. “Look at those two over there,” she pointed to Scotland and Bourbon, “they look like they’re from the same gang. There’s a murderous look in their eyes, they’re ruthless.”

"So what did you see in that kid?" the security guard asked. He knew that Wendia was good at judging people, so he was just talking nonsense, but he still believed her.

“He has the air of a mob boss; you can see his ruthlessness and gloom, but he’s also gentle.” Wendia said, taking the Portoni Groni from the bartender. “Ah, perhaps you don’t need to pay attention; no one can touch him.”

After saying that, Wendia turned and walked towards Cheng You, sitting down next to him. "Little brother, you come to the bar not just to drink, do you need your big sister to play with you?"

"Is it alright?" Cheng You took the glass from Wendia's hand. This Portoni Groni had a deep and mysterious appearance, with a dark red hue that exuded a captivating luster. The taste was rich and complex, with the crispness of gin, the mellowness of sweet vermouth, the bitterness of Campari bitters, and the rich, sweet fruitiness of port wine, all intertwined together, making it an absolute feast for the senses.

Cheng raised his glass. "Miss, would you like to have a drink with me?" He said to the bartender, "And give this lady a 'Rose of No Man's Land'!"

Wendy rested her elbows on the table and raised an eyebrow at Cheng You.

The bartender handed the rose from the desert to Wendia and smiled, "Have a pleasant chat."

"Red suits you perfectly, miss~" The sweet and sour taste of strawberries blends perfectly with the tartness of brown sugar plum wine, creating a delicious flavor and a delicate red hue. The honeyed aroma of brown sugar infuses the fragrance of plum wine, resulting in a sweet and mellow drink. This beverage isn't too strong either, perfect for a light buzz.

Cheng raised his glass and clinked it with Wendy's. He first smelled the aroma of Portoni Groni, then took small sips, letting the various flavors slowly spread in his mouth.

"Little brother, do you come to bars often? You seem like a seasoned pro." Wendia smiled as she savored the drink in her hand. It was brown sugar plum wine, not very strong in alcohol, and not her favorite. But since it was a gift from the person in front of her, it had a different meaning, and she did like it a little.

"No, I come here occasionally to take care of some business."

"So you're here on business today too?"

"No, I just wanted to have a drink and relax, but I didn't expect to meet such an interesting person." Cheng You put down his glass, leaned back slightly, and his whole demeanor suddenly became more refined.

“…” Wendia smiled faintly, then put down her wine glass and asked, “What do you need me to do?”

Cheng You revealed a meaningful smile, "I need to know the secret escape route of this bar, the kind that only your boss and a few of you know."

“…” Wendy fell silent. These were secrets of their hotel, and she shouldn’t have said them, but under the other person’s gaze, she felt a bit of fear.

“You should know that the owner of this bar has messed with the wrong people and can no longer stay here. You are very capable, are you sure you want to stay in such a small bar?” Cheng You’s face was smiling, but his tone was unusually serious.

“Ha, you’ve hit the nail on the head,” Wendia couldn’t help but laugh. “I can tell you, but I need more.”

"What?"

“Money,” Wendy said. “I want a six-figure sum in US dollars.”

“No problem.” Cheng nodded. The money from the operation of the Gray Fox Assassin Dark Network, as well as the money he occasionally took on bounty missions using alternate accounts, were all stored in these protected accounts. Cheng was quite willing to use this money to ensure the success of the retrospective missions.

“That’s so agreeable,” Wendia raised an eyebrow. “Alright, then let’s work together happily.”

The two chatted and laughed for a while, then Cheng You suddenly stood up and said, "I'm in a great mood today, so the whole thing is on me!"

Cheers and boasts filled the bar, successfully drawing the attention of Scotland and Bourbon, but their expressions remained indifferent. Cheng raised his glass and walked towards them, saying, "Hey, friends, let's have a drink."

"Sorry, we have other things to do later," said Rei Furuya.

"What a coincidence. I thought you two were kindred spirits and wanted to have a further chat." Cheng left with regret and a touch of melancholy. He chatted with the other people in the bar, but kept an eye on whether Furuya Rei and Morofushi Kagemitsu would make a move.

After finishing his conversation with one of the guests, Cheng turned around and saw that Furuya Rei and Morofushi Kagemitsu were no longer there. He decided to wait there a little longer for an opportunity to chat with Scotland alone.

Meanwhile, Scotland and Bourbon, with simple disguises, slipped into a room on the other side of the bar. It was quiet there; it was the bar boss's lounge, and there were several bodyguards in black standing guard around the corner.

The two exchanged glances and smiled. The next second, they split up and quietly dealt with the bodyguards around the corner and next to the BOSS's office.

They had already set everything up inside the bar, and in seconds the bar would be in chaos; they only needed to wait a moment.

Sure enough, the next second, a huge roar came, and the place even vibrated slightly. The phone in the bar owner's office rang. The owner, who received the chaotic news, seemed to realize something and hurriedly fled. He knew that the black organization had sent people to kill him!

What to do?! No, no, calm down. This is probably just a trick they're using to scare him. His bar is heavily guarded; how could they possibly get in?

The bar owner thought to himself, suddenly feeling a bit smug. The Black Organization was nothing special after all.

So he decided to go to the bar to see what was going on.

Just as the door was opened a crack, something strong blocked it. The bar owner pushed hard, but still couldn't move it.

Out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of a pair of cold, purplish-gray eyes peeking through the crack in the door, and the bar owner shuddered.

Bourbon scoffed, "Where are you going?"

"I...I..." The bar owner was taken aback. In that brief moment, Bourbon and Scotland had already squeezed through the crack in the door and entered. Scotland then locked the door from the inside.

"Alright, hand over the cooperation documents." Bourbon raised his pistol and pointed it at the bar owner's temple.

On the other side, Cheng You was chatting with Wendy when suddenly there was a loud "boom". Everyone present was startled at first, but then they realized what was happening, and the bar instantly descended into chaos.

"See, nothing bad has happened." Cheng You seemed to have known all along that something big was going to happen, his expression calm.

The bartender ran over and said, "It was an explosion caused by methane combustion in the kitchen."

"Quickly, evacuate everyone." Wendia told them to leave through the emergency exit, but didn't mention the back alley leading to the boss.

"Aren't you leaving?" Wendy turned around and asked Cheng You, who still looked calm.

"No, I still have things to do." Cheng You smiled at him, waited until they all left, and then turned and walked into the bar.

This road leads to that secret escape route; maybe we'll run into Scotland there.

"I've got the documents." Bourbon took the documents from the bar owner, glanced at them briefly to make sure there were no problems, and then handed them to Scotland.

The bar owner's hands trembled, and a few beads of cold sweat rolled down his forehead. "Can you spare my life?"

"No, because you betrayed our organization. People who betray the organization never have a good ending." Morofushi Kagemitsu's gentle smile, which he had been giving Bourbon, instantly turned into a cold-blooded smile as he looked at the bar owner.

"Bang—" Bourbon shot him through the forehead. "I'll go see if there's anyone left in the bar. If there isn't, I'll set it on fire. You go first, take the secret escape route the bar owner built himself."

Morofushi Kagemitsu nodded. After dealing with the bar owner, the mission was almost complete. All that was left was to burn down the bar, which wasn't dangerous, so he was quite at ease.

As Furuya Rei's figure receded into the distance and disappeared from sight, Morofushi Kagemitsu finally set off for the passageway.

The passage was built behind a cabinet in a room next to the bar owner's office. This was something they had found out from the bar owner. Morofushi Kagemitsu moved the cabinet and indeed found a dark alley.

He had just stepped inside and was about to lower his guard when a black figure suddenly flashed over. Morofushi Kagemitsu reacted quickly and drew his pistol, but the other party seemed to have anticipated this and restrained the hand holding the pistol.

Zhu Fujingguang raised his foot and kicked backward, but Cheng You dodged to the side, leaning against the wall for support, making it less likely for Scotland to throw him off.

"!" Fighting him is really a challenge! Cheng You didn't dare to be distracted for even half a second. Scott's moves were swift and ruthless. Cheng You focused on counterattacking. He had already prepared a draft of what he would say when they met, but now he couldn't remember anything. He didn't have time to think about these things at all.
