Chapter 93 Meeting the Great Boss Karasuma [VIP]
"I'm being hunted down," Cheng You suddenly said in the quiet, dark room.
Yagami Kamisama was stunned for a few seconds: "What? Hunted down? Who's hunting you down? I can help you."
Cheng You walked to the entrance and turned on the living room light: "It's no use. The two of us have absolutely no way to face such a powerful organization."
Yagami Kamisama frowned: "Is this all you came here for? Tell me why."
Cheng poured two glasses of water, handing one to the other person: "The police will assist in investigating the information of the people who are hunting me down. In order not to implicate the people around me, you, Youyi, and many others will need to be protected by the police station."
"Protection?" Yagami took a few sips of water, then suddenly slammed the cup on the table and sneered, "There is absolutely no trust in the Public Security Bureau and the FBI."
Cheng sat on the sofa, silently drinking water. He was indeed not easy to persuade; he was so fixated on Yagami's visit.
"Do you remember anything that happened before you were six years old? Or," he hesitated before speaking, "um..."
Yagami Kamisama frowned: "Speak quickly if you have something to say."
Do you remember what happened during your childhood before your parents died?
Yagami squinted at Cheng You: "What do you know?" He didn't refute. He really didn't have much of an impression of things before he was six years old. He wondered to himself, could it be that he had amnesia, but was unaware of it because he was investigating the murderer?
Cheng You: "If you can cooperate with the police investigation, I can tell you about this."
"I don't believe it." Yagami snorted twice.
Cheng You stood up, took out his phone, found the saved photo, and handed it to Yagami Uesugi: "Here, this should be you when you were a child."
Yagami squinted. It was indeed him when he was a child. So he stood up and took Cheng You's hand: "Then it's settled."
Cheng You reached out his hand to him, but Ye Shen Shangcan ignored him. Instead, as if venting his anger, he punched Cheng You hard in the chest: "Really, you had to keep it from me..." He wanted to say something more, but suddenly noticed that Cheng You was clutching his chest in pain.
"What's wrong?" he asked worriedly.
"No...it's nothing." Cheng forced a smile. "You're too strong."
Yagami Uesugi didn't believe him. He directly ripped open Yagami's clothes and saw that his chest was wrapped in bandages with a few streaks of blood seeping through the clean bandages.
"You call this nothing?!" Yagami pulled Cheng You to the sofa and took out a first-aid kit from under the sofa. "Take off your clothes."
Cheng Yougang wanted to refuse, but seeing the other person's resolute expression, he still took off his shirt: "I can change the bandage myself."
Yagami Kamishin nodded and turned his head to look elsewhere.
As Cheng You was applying medicine and changing bandages, he heard Ye Shenshen mutter softly, "I'm sorry."
"It's nothing." Such a haughty, arrogant attitude.
Yagami asked, "Was this an injury you sustained while they were chasing you?"
Cheng You: "Well, I guess so."
A short while later, Cheng You changed his bandages and wanted to take Ye Shen to the police station, but the other party insisted on checking him over again. He forcibly pulled off the windbreaker that Cheng You had just put on and looked at him carefully before he was relieved: "There's no problem."
Cheng You: "You're acting so weird."
Cheng You took him to the police station, and to prevent him from escaping, Cheng You even handcuffed the two of them together.
Yagami said, "I already told you I would cooperate fully with the police. This shows you don't trust me."
Cheng shook his head: "You'll understand why I don't trust you when you get there."
Soon after, Cheng led Yagami into the police station. There were quite a few people waiting. Yagami glanced at them one by one: a blond man, a man with cat-like eyes whom he had met before, and a young man with dark circles under his eyes. When his gaze fell on the last man in the knitted hat, Yagami looked away, twisted his body, and turned to run away.
Fortunately, Cheng had handcuffed the two of them together beforehand, and Yagami Shangcan was pulled back by Cheng after taking only two steps.
"Why did you use handcuffs?!" Yagami, the senior advisor, suddenly exclaimed, somewhat speechless. "What's he doing here?!"
Cheng You: "The FBI and the Public Security Bureau have cooperated." As he spoke, he walked up to Shuichi Akai, unlocked the handcuffs on his own hands, and locked them on Shuichi Akai's hands. "Okay, he's yours now."
When Yagami saw Cheng You hand the other half of the handcuffs to Akai Shuichi, his face turned green. He struggled desperately, but to no avail. After calming down, he noticed Cheng You and the blond man walking towards the door. He asked, "Wasn't Cheng You being chased? Why didn't you protect him properly and let him leave?"
Shuichi Akai replied dismissively, "Oh, he has special protection. Don't struggle, come with me."
Cheng followed Furuya Rei out, and the other party sent a file to his account: "These are the lines. Gin will ask me later for the lines on how to rescue you from the police."
Cheng was surprised: "So perfect!" He replied with a thumbs-up emoji. He glanced at it briefly; it was roughly about Potter being seriously injured, the police putting him in a special hospital, and when he was almost fully recovered, Bourbon infiltrated and rescued him. After being rescued, his old injuries flared up, and he went back to the hospital in disguise.
Rei Furuya: "Don't worry, I've already spoken to the Public Security Bureau. They'll be circulating some information about Potter's abduction within their ranks, and the Black Organization should be able to hear about it."
Cheng got into Bourbon's car and said lazily in the back seat, "I'll have to stay at the organization from now on."
"Gin shouldn't make things difficult for you. If there are any dangerous missions or missions that require you to encounter the research institute, be sure to send me a message," Rei Furuya instructed while driving.
"Um."
“If you do anything again that puts your life at risk, I, Hiro, and your brother might really beat you up.”
“…No more.” Cheng You lowered his eyes. He was certain he would never put his life in danger again, but if he encountered Cecil and hatred surged up, he might not be able to control himself.
They soon arrived at the Black Organization's central stronghold in Beika Town. Bourbon took Potter to see Gin, indicating that he had brought the person out safely and the mission was complete.
Gin finally breathed a sigh of relief after seeing the person.
Cheng Youneng could hear his inner thoughts. Although Gin's expression was indifferent, he still cared about him deep down.
How heartwarming! It turns out Gin isn't so heartless after all.
Gin looked at Cheng You's smiling expression and suddenly said in a cold voice, "Perfect, there's a mission for the two of you tomorrow."
Cheng thought to himself: Exploitation! He took back his praise.
The mission was simple: to assassinate someone. Bourbon and he completed it in an hour.
After submitting the mission report, Gin suddenly approached him and said, "Because of the last mission, the BOSS has been praising you and wants to meet you so he can promote you."
Cheng maintained a calm expression, but inside he was overjoyed. Could he finally go see the BOSS?
Cheng You was blindfolded and led into a car. After an unknown amount of time, the car stopped, and Cheng You was led forward.
The place is very open, with almost no sunlight, and you can hear the rustling of leaves in the wind.
Cheng guessed that this should be a forest.
Soon after, Cheng was led into the house. The wooden floor smelled of smoke.
"Thump thump." "Come in." A deep, powerful voice.
A moment later, "snap—" the door slammed shut.
“Alright, you can take it off now, Potter.” The one who said this was probably the mastermind behind the Black Organization, Karasuma Renya.
Cheng removed the black blindfold. The room was dark, and he felt no discomfort when he opened his eyes. He looked around; this was the study.
In the center of the study, the chair in front of the desk was facing away from him, with only half of his head showing.
“BOSS,” Cheng Youzun said respectfully. He had already begun plotting how to take his place.
Karasuma Renya said, "Only two people from the Black Organization have seen me. Do you know why I suddenly want to see you?"
"have no idea."
"During this mission, do you know who seriously injured Cecil?" Karasuma Renya suddenly asked.
The police and the FBI both knew that Cecil was seriously injured and had been tracking their movements multiple times. It was a big deal, so it wasn't surprising that Karasuma Renya knew about it.
Cheng thought carefully, wondering what Karasuma Renya's purpose was in asking this, and he didn't dare to answer easily: "The situation was very chaotic at the time, and I was unconscious after being injured, so I don't know anything."
Karasuma Renya was silent for a moment, then asked, "Did you see Cecil?"
"right."
What kind of person do you think he is?
"It's hard to say," Cheng replied cautiously.
"Would you like to sit in Gin's seat too?"
Cheng immediately became alert. The tone of those words was really strange. He slowly replied, "I'll listen to the boss's opinion."
“I think you are very capable.” Karasuma Renya said as he slowly stood up and walked to Cheng You. He was wearing a mask, and Cheng You lowered his head the moment he saw his masked face.
He sensed Karasuma Renya getting close to him, very close.
The next second, a syringe suddenly pierced Cheng You's neck. Cheng You abruptly raised his eyes to look at the masked face in front of him. He—he injected himself with something?!
Cheng staggered back a few steps, clutching his neck as he felt dizzy.
Karasuma Renya laughed: "Do you know what this is?"
Cheng couldn't hear him clearly anymore: "What?"
"This reagent is very precious. Only four were ever developed. Giving you one now is a reward. Now, there's only one left," Karasuma Renya muttered to himself.
Cheng You had no strength left and knelt on the ground. He leaned against the wall, trying to stand up.
"The last one was Gin. You are all extremely useful to me. In order to prevent your betrayal, a potion is worth it."
Cheng tried his best to remember the voices that came to his ears.
After a short while, Cheng's pain subsided, and he stood up.
Karasuma Renya knew the effects of the potion; he understood that it had been completely absorbed by now. He looked at Cheng You, whose eyes were lifeless, dull, and calm.
“Perfect,” Karasuma Renya exclaimed.
Cheng asked in a flat tone, "What are your orders, BOSS?" His tone was devoid of emotion, like that of a robot.
"Tell me, who severely injured Cecil?"
