Chapter 119 Seventy-Eight Realms of the Myriad Worlds

While Marshal Maurice was fast asleep, his personal secretary was guarding the door to his office.

The princess has arrived at the place where the emperor is in seclusion, inside the imperial palace named after the empire.

The white light emanating from the unknown material on the roof illuminated Zhao Li, who was standing in the center of the palace, and even her dark green military uniform was tinged white by the light.

Above the palace, the emperor sat on his golden throne, his golden robes casually scattered around the throne, and he still wore the golden mask that seemed to be part of his face.

Zhao Li stood in the center of the palace, her eyes filled with hatred and anger, staring straight at the emperor sitting on the golden throne.

She could feel that the aura emanating from the emperor was even stronger than it had been a few years ago, and in this environment, she even had some difficulty breathing.

The longer she stayed in front of the emperor, the more her body urged her to escape. The hatred and anger in her heart were gradually changed by this aura, and fear was taking over her body.

Just as Zhao Li was about to flee the place, the familiar figure of her son appeared in her mind.

Thinking of her own son, who was already dead and whose body had not even been preserved, anger and hatred once again took over her body, completely dispelling the fear brought by that aura.

No longer dwelling on the emperor's terrifying power, nor caring about the imposing aura that filled the entire hall, Zhao Li loudly addressed the emperor on the golden throne:

"You...you should know how our son died!"

"certainly."

The emperor's voice, devoid of any personal emotion, reached Zhao Li's ears.

Without much thought, she continued to ask the emperor above:

"Who is the murderer? Don't tell me it was an accident. You and I both know that accidents are the least likely thing to happen in the royal palace!"

As soon as she finished speaking, the emperor did not answer her question immediately as he had before. Instead, he remained seated motionless on his golden throne.

After a long silence, the emperor finally spoke again, but this time it wasn't to answer her question. Instead, he said with a hint of coldness:

"Do you know who you're talking to? Who gave you permission to speak to me in that tone?"

"Me? You are my husband, and the father of our dead son! Don't you really have even the slightest feeling for your own son?"

Upon hearing the emperor's reply, Zhao Li first gave a cold laugh, and then spoke with a hint of accusation.

The emperor did not respond or make any move upon hearing this.

Zhao Li thought he was reflecting, but what she didn't know was that her words reminded the emperor of his former relatives, his real relatives, the relatives now trapped in his body, not the false relatives in front of him.

Seeing that the emperor had not answered her for a long time, Zhao Li, who thought she had touched his heart, spoke again:

"If you really care about our son, tell me who killed him, and I will personally execute him!"

These words instantly pulled the emperor, who was lost in his memories, back to reality.

However, upon hearing that Zhao Li intended to personally execute the murderer of the Second Prince, the Emperor suddenly lost his composure, and even his voice became shrill.

"What! No one can stop me from resurrecting them! You can't destroy my hope! No one! Not even that weird director of the Bureau of Investigation!"

Zhao Li was also startled by the emperor's sudden words. She didn't know what she had said that had provoked the emperor to act this way, and this was the first time she had ever heard such a voice.

"Wh...what, what are you saying?"

A sudden sense of fear arose in Zhao Li's heart. With a tone of doubt and surprise, she spoke to the emperor above, whose emotions seemed unstable.

But she didn't get a reply from the emperor. In her eyes, she only saw the emperor suddenly get up and then disappear from the golden throne in an instant.

Before she could react, the emperor had already appeared in front of her, less than a meter away.

She looked at the emperor so close to her, at her husband whom she hadn't seen for years. She tried to speak, but when she opened her mouth, all she could do was utter a single word, her mouth filled with blood.

Just as she was wondering, a sharp pain came from her abdomen, so intense that she almost fainted. Her normally handsome features were now contorted with pain.

When she looked down at her abdomen with difficulty, she finally understood why she was in so much pain.

At this moment, the emperor was holding in his hand the broadsword that should have been standing upright to the right of the golden jade pendant.

The broadsword had now completely pierced her abdomen from the front, and bright red blood dripped continuously from the blade onto the black tiles on the ground.

Before she could even look up, the emperor spun the broadsword embedded in her body clockwise.

She could no longer feel the pain, because her entire body below the head seemed to have lost all sensation. In her eyes, the abdomen that had been spun by the broadsword was now empty, as if a large hole had been cut into her stomach.

On the black tiles on the ground, various pieces of flesh and blood, already mixed together, were scattered haphazardly.

"You...cannot stop me from resurrecting them! No one can!"

The emperor's voice entered her ears again, but this time, it was no longer as sharp as before.
