Chapter 63 The Myriad Realms, Part Twenty-Two

After Platinum stepped into the room, he waited a few seconds, and the two people behind him had beads of sweat on their foreheads due to excessive tension.

The veins on the arms gripping the clothes behind their backs bulged from the force of the grip.

In those few short seconds, it felt like several years had passed for the three members of Platinum.

Finally, after a few seconds, the two people behind Platinum saw him waving to indicate that he was alright, and they breathed a long sigh of relief, releasing their grip on his back.

The two then wiped the sweat from their brows with their hands, glanced back at Bai Xue, and followed Bai Jin into the room.

After the three of them entered the ordinary room, Bai Xue glanced at the empty hallway before entering the room herself.

After gently ajarring the door, Bai Xue softly asked Bai Jin, who was standing in front of her:

"Are we just going to wait here for the mission time to end after we entered the room? Don't forget what happened in that room just now."

Upon hearing what Bai Xue said, the three of them recalled what had happened when they first entered this world: the eerie room and the black liquid filled with an aura of destruction.

Bai Jin's expression was also tense. She turned to look at Bai Xue and replied in a serious yet calm tone:

"Let's observe from this room for now."

As he spoke, he walked toward the wooden desk. After probing it, he found that apart from the papers and pens on it, there were no other items on the desk, nor did he find any traps or mechanisms.

She reached out and picked up the papers on the table. Bai Xue watched as Bai Jin's face turned ugly after reading the papers, and she secretly sneered to herself.

The two people next to Bai Jin also noticed his increasingly grim expression and went over to read what was written on the paper. After reading it, their expressions also turned grim, just like his.

Bai Xue also walked up to the three of them. Although she already knew what was written on the paper before entering the room, she still wanted to pretend before the three of them died to avoid arousing their unnecessary vigilance.

Seeing the pale face on Bai Xue's face, which seemed to be meant for them, Bai Jin spoke to the crowd in a heavy tone:

"What do you think? Should we stay here, or go out and find another room?"

The two people who were with Bai Jin, after hearing this, both said they wanted to find another room, since this room, apart from the paper, exuded disharmony everywhere.

Logically speaking, this seemingly dilapidated building, which has experienced strange events, should not be so clean, without even a speck of dust. Moreover, the white bed in the room has its blankets neatly folded, just like a brand new room.

After the three made their decision, they looked at Bai Xue standing to the side.

Seeing the three people's determined gazes, Bai Xue tilted her head slightly, pretending to be shy, and nodded slightly in agreement, indicating that she also agreed with their idea.

After Bai Xue nodded, Bai Jin continued to lead the way, walking alone towards the door.

He first peered through the crack in the half-open door to observe the scene in the hallway. After careful observation, he confirmed that the hallway was still empty, just as before.

He then gently opened the door, signaling his two teammates and Bai Xue to follow closely behind him.

The moment Bai Jin stepped out of the room, he disappeared from Bai Xue and the other two's sight. Before they could react, they heard Bai Jin's voice coming from behind them again.

"How come you're ahead of me? No, wait, why am I back here again?"

Bai Jin's voice, tinged with confusion and a hint of shock, came from behind Bai Xue and the other two.

Upon hearing the sound, Bai Xue and the other two snapped out of their daze and turned to look behind them.

When the three of them looked over, they discovered that the source of the sound was not Bai Jin, but a corpse that appeared to have been rotting for a long time. The stench emanating from the corpse quickly reached their noses.

The clothes on the corpse were not the black bodysuit that Bai Jin was wearing, but a blue suit full of holes.

And the corpse seemed to sense the shocked looks in the three people's eyes, and made a questioning sound exactly like Bai Jin's.

"What's wrong with you all? Why did I come back to this room after I just left? And why are you all looking at me like that?"

Glug glug

Bai Xue swallowed hard, forcing a calm tone as she replied:

"I don't know, you should check your body first!"

Upon hearing what Bai Xue said, the corpse looked puzzled as it examined its own rotting, foul-smelling body.

After turning its head to observe for a while, the corpse spoke again.

"What's wrong? Has some strange object appeared on my body? I don't see anything. Is it on my back?"

As they spoke, the corpse that claimed to be Bai Jin turned around, facing away from Bai Xue and the other two, and spoke again:

"Can you take a look and see if something strange is attached to my back? But that shouldn't be the case, you've been following me the whole time, how could you not have noticed anything unusual?"

Unfortunately, he received no answer. The other two teammates of Platinum, after seeing that the back of the corpse was just as rotten and disgusting as the front, quickly pulled out a small, sharp, barbed dagger from their shirt pockets.

The two of them had been following Bai Jin, and in their memory, Bai Jin would never ask so many questions. They knew that the person in front of them was probably not Bai Jin, but just a strange creature disguised as Bai Jin.

In their minds, since it was a strange entity with a physical form, they had to strike first!

The two men took only three seconds to decide what to do and draw their daggers. The rotting corpse that called itself Platinum was still facing away from them, waiting for their answer.

The two of them rushed toward the corpse at the same time, their daggers pointed at the head and heart of the body, respectively.

Bai Xue was also somewhat surprised that these two seemingly insignificant people reacted so quickly, and that they rushed towards the corpse without making a sound, their running steps appearing chaotic.

Using a bit of her mental energy to observe, Bai Xue also discovered that the two seemed to be using a kind of secret technique in their footwork.

Just as she was watching the two men's footsteps, the daggers in their hands pierced the unsuspecting corpses.

Ahhh!

A familiar voice came from the corpse.
