Chapter 18 Calabash City, A Few Things

Hulu City is a medium-sized city.

This area is inhabited by various ethnic groups, but is controlled by three ethnic groups.

They are the sheep clan, wolf clan, and tiger clan of the city lord's mansion.

Nearly 70% of the major industries in the entire Calabash City are controlled by the three clans.

However, as a city inhabited by various ethnic groups, and with power divided among them, the struggle for power and profit led to a chaotic mix of people and disorder, making it an outright lawless place.

Ordinary fights and brawls are commonplace, and murder and robbery are also commonplace.

But as a piece of news spread, the already chaotic city's security became even more outrageous. Occasionally, people could be maimed or killed in the streets, yet no one cared. The vicious and wicked were unleashed, creating a scene resembling a feast from hell.

However, even in such a crazy environment, there is still a safe place: the city lord's mansion.

Everyone here performs their duties, and the atmosphere remains orderly.

This stands in stark contrast to the chaos outside.

However, beneath its orderly exterior, an anxiety still emanates.

"Father, how is Grandpa's condition?"

The speaker was a boy with ram's horns and a human face. He looked anxious and asked his father impatiently as soon as he entered the hall.

His father also had a pair of ram horns, only those horns were thicker and larger.

"It might not work."

The father, with a somber face, walked to the head seat and sat down, remaining silent.

"Oh no, what can we do? Without Grandpa to keep watch over our Yang family, do you think they'll let us off so easily?"

"At that time, Father, Mother, all uncles, aunts, cousins, and brothers and sisters will surely not escape death."

"And then there's Xiaoju. We raised him with such care for months, but we'll never see him grow up again."

When the topic turned to his sorrows, the boy with the ram's horn burst into tears, causing a commotion and whispers outside the hall.

"The traitor."

The father, with ram's horns, suddenly stood up, enraged.

“If you hadn’t been so playful and idle all day long, neglecting your cultivation, how could my Yang family have faced such a calamity today?”

Still not satisfied, the father of the sheep raised his hand and slapped her.

With a "smack," a bright red handprint was left on the boy's youthful face.

The boy was stunned for a moment, then touched his bruised face, unable to believe it.

"You hit me? You actually hit me?"

The boy trembled: "From childhood to adulthood, Grandpa has always been the one who loves me the most. No one has ever hit me before. How could you hit me?"

"Waaaaah."

"I don't want to live anymore, just die, all of you just die."

The boy wailed and lay down on the ground, rolling around in pain.

"Very well, with such a son, it is only right that my Yang family has suffered this calamity today."

Seeing his son's shameless and foolish behavior, the sheep father trembled with anger.

"Xiaoju, right? Great! Very good."

"Someone come quick! Someone come quick!"

The father of the sheep shouted almost angrily at the outside of the hall.

"Master, Master."

An old man with ram's horns hurried to the front of the hall, panting, looking as if he were waiting at any moment.

"Go, go, go kill this little bastard's pet for me. Now, right now, immediately."

"No! Father, you can't do this, you can't do this."

The boy scrambled to his feet, screaming, and grabbed the old man with ram horns who was about to obey orders.

He turned and roared at the sheep father.

"You can't do this. Xiaoju and I have been relying on each other for months. We are like brothers and sisters and we've been through thick and thin together. If you dare to hurt her today, I will die right now."

"You...you..."

The father clutched his chest, backing away step by step, staring in disbelief at his son.

This was his son, whom he had never met.

How could he have such a son?

"Could it be that Heaven is truly going to destroy my Yang family?"

The father sheep looked up at the high roof, his face pale and listless, a mixture of heartache and resentment. A tear silently slid down his cheek.

"What's going on? What's going on?"

Just then, another sound came from outside the hall, accompanied by hurried footsteps, and a man who looked slightly like Yang Fu entered the hall.

"Uncle, Uncle, you've finally arrived."

Upon seeing the newcomer, the boy immediately rushed over and burst into tears.

"Uncle, you must do justice for me! My father... he actually tried to kill my beloved Xiaoju."

"Waaaaah."

Uncle Yang looked at his aggrieved and crying nephew, and then at his elder brother, who was sitting limply.

My head is full of question marks.

"What happened?"

"Why."

At that moment, the father of the sheep seemed to age instantly, and all his spirit was gone.

"Him..."

"Lock him up..."

The father waved his hand weakly, but didn't look at his son again.

"You are not allowed to step out of the room."

As soon as the words were spoken...

Two burly men with goat horns rushed into the hall, quickly restrained the boy, and dragged him out.

"Let me go, let me go now!"

The boy struggled desperately, his face flushed, but his thin arms and legs were no match for the two burly men.

However, they were dragged away shortly afterward, and all that could be heard was the gradually fading noise.

"Big brother, what's wrong?"

Once the hall was quiet again, Uncle Yang sat down and asked, puzzled.

"Why."

"Let's not talk about it."

It seems they don't want to dwell on the current scandal.

The father waved his hand and changed the subject.

"Since you're here now, there are some things I should tell you."

After saying this, the father of the sheep changed his demeanor. He went from being listless to having a stern and sharp aura.
