Chapter 18 The Bullied Sister is Stupid and Incompetent
Chapter 18
Qin Yan huddled in the storage room at the end of the teaching building corridor, where cleaning supplies were kept.
The teaching building was dark and cramped at night, with no lights, and there was an unpleasant smell.
After being lectured by her own younger brother and his entourage, her brother, whose values had become warped along with his appearance, unceremoniously shoved her into this cramped storage room.
They weren't particularly close, at most they shared the same mother. Her father died early, so her mother remarried, taking her newborn son with her. Her younger brother was born the following year.
The environment is familiar, the characters are familiar, and the plot is familiar.
This is the world where she once successfully completed her mission.
And now she's back.
The storage room door was locked from the outside by her kind younger brother, and she was discovered by the cleaning lady the next morning.
But now she doesn't need to follow the plot.
The girl who was bullied by her younger brother, beaten by her father, and ignored by her mother has long since died in that world.
Qin Yan was now covered in bruises and her clothes were stained with dirt and blood, making her look particularly gruesome.
Qin Wu knew how to bully people; he deliberately aimed his blows at areas that could be covered by clothing.
Qin Yan had no intention of following that non-existent plot here.
The system had vanished without a trace, and she didn't even know why she was there.
Without much hesitation, she kicked open the locked iron gate.
The broken lock rolled to the ground. Qin Yan bent down, picked it up, and thoughtfully hung it back in the keyhole.
Evening classes were still in session at this time—the martial arts school trained during the day and held classes at night. Qin Wu skipping class was bad enough, but it also prevented her from attending.
Qin Yan had to go back to her dormitory first.
The dormitory supervisor felt a pang of pity when she saw Qin Yan walk in.
She recognized the girl; there weren't many girls at the martial arts school, and this was probably the only one who had been bullied like this.
"Girl, let me talk to your homeroom teacher and ask him to take you to the hospital?"
The sight of this blood was truly unbearable to watch.
Qin Yan shook her head: "It's nothing, just a minor injury."
The dormitory supervisor felt even more sorry for her.
This can't be considered a minor injury; the blood has seeped into your clothes, and in more than one place.
That must have been a really bad beating.
Qin Yan thought about it and realized that going back to the room to treat her wound would make the dormitory dirty. Although the dormitory had been reduced from eight people to two, it was still not one person's territory.
The arduous training at martial arts schools often discourages many students, and very few girls remain in the school by the time they reach their second year of high school.
"I'm going to the infirmary," Qin Yan turned to the dormitory supervisor and instructed, "Don't tell anyone else."
The dormitory supervisor sighed and didn't say anything more.
The students at this school come from all walks of life; some come from ordinary families, while others are involved in crime. In short, none of them are easy to deal with.
Given that there are many boys, fighting is commonplace, and the fact that no one is killed is considered the last vestige of conscience among those bad students.
After glancing at Qin Yan's retreating figure, the dormitory supervisor sighed again.
The school doctor treated Qin Yan's wound but still advised her to go to the hospital.
Qin Yan declined the school doctor's offer and went straight back to her dormitory.
I'd already skipped three evening classes, so I decided to skip them all.
She will talk to her younger brother, but not now.
Now, she needs a good night's sleep.
*
No matter how late the students at school play wildly at night, the morning exercise bell will never be late.
Before dawn, the boys' dormitory was already in chaos, with the instructors knocking on doors to wake up the students who were still hoping to stay in bed a few more minutes.
"Get up!"
"If you don't get up, you'll kick my ass until it's raw!"
"Get up, all of you!"
A few students who were somewhat self-disciplined rolled out of bed in a daze, without washing their faces or brushing their teeth, and opened the door wearing only shorts.
Then the burly man outside the door squeezed in and slapped each of the people covered by blankets on the bed, while also pulling off the blankets.
"Can't pay it back?"
"Do you want me to carry you down?"
Amidst the chaos, everyone was finally gathered together.
Qin Yan woke up before the morning exercise bell rang. After brushing her teeth and washing her face in an orderly manner, she left the dormitory while her roommates were still asleep.
After finding his coach downstairs and explaining that he was feeling unwell and unable to exercise in the morning, he made a request: "I want to change my major."
Wang Hong was somewhat surprised by her words: "Change your major?"
After all, they're already in their second year of high school. Changing majors after studying for more than a year is not conducive to college entrance exams. At this point, it's generally not recommended to switch to a field they're not familiar with.
Qin Yan nodded: "I want to switch to Sanda (Chinese kickboxing)."
Wang Hong was even more surprised: "Sanda? Have you really seriously considered it?"
Qin Yan is currently majoring in martial arts, which mainly involves learning routines, making it relatively more suitable for girls.
After all, Sanda (Chinese kickboxing) is about real combat, and injuries are common during training. For example, it's common to break bones in a real fight if you don't control the fight properly.
Qin Yan was very firm: "I'm definitely switching to Sanda (Chinese kickboxing)."
Wang Hong's story is too complicated to explain in a few words.
He knew Qin Yan's skill level; her aptitude was average, and her martial arts moves were more about form than substance, with only relatively good flexibility. But if she were to practice Sanda (Chinese kickboxing), she would truly only be able to get beaten up.
Besides, there are currently no girls in the Sanda class, so the only sparring partner I can find is a boy.
It's a huge loss.
Moreover, he knew a little about Qin Yan's situation. She was unloved by her parents and was always bullied. Her younger brother even led others to bully her. She was often injured, which greatly affected her training.
Wang Hong still didn't agree to her request: "You, think about it carefully yourself. You're injured right now, so just sit by the playground and rest."
Qin Yan knew that saying anything else would be useless, so she only left one sentence: "Coach, I want to protect myself."
Wang Hong simply replied, "You suddenly changed your major, so you can't keep up with the basics."
Qin Yan laughed: "So as long as you can prove that I have the foundation, that's enough, right?"
There seemed to be no problem with what he said, so Wang Hong nodded and said, "Yes."
That's what they say, but how to prove it is another question. Wang Hong was also very curious about how Qin Yan would prove that she had a foundation.
Performing martial arts routines is useless.
Qin Yan didn't say anything more and found a place where the sun wouldn't shine on her to rest.
Training before dawn is really not a pleasant thing.
Looking around, there was a huge crowd of students, with only a few girls in the queue.
Students gradually gathered on the playground.
Qin Wu yawned and dragged his feet forward when suddenly his arm was nudged: "Qin Wu, it's your sister."
His eyes, which had been somewhat sleepy, suddenly sharpened as he turned his neck and saw Qin Yan sitting on a bench under a tree outside the playground.
Qin Wu narrowed her eyes.
She shouldn't be here.
She should be lying on her dorm bed, in pain and scared.
Instead of sitting here comfortably as if nothing happened.
Then he saw that repulsive figure walk up to Qin Yan.
Gu Rong bent down, his youthful arrogance written on his face, yet his delicate features made him appear spirited and dashing.
"Ayan, I heard your brother beat you up again?"
Gu Rong smiled, but his smile carried a hint of danger.
Qin Yan raised her eyes, but remained silent.
"Will you be my girlfriend? I'll protect you, okay?" The boy softened his voice, almost seductively.
He reached out and grabbed a strand of Qin Yan's hair that was hanging down in front of her chest, rubbing it.
Qin Yan smiled and said, "Okay."
Gu Rong was stunned, and even his hands stopped moving.
Qin Yan said softly, "I'll agree if you let me break both of your legs."
Gu Rong's expression froze for a few seconds, then suddenly broke into a smile. "Ayan, you're naughty."
His tone was clearly tinged with laughter, but the last syllable trailed off with coldness.
He loosened his hair, straightened up, and looked down at Qin Yan, his smile not reaching his eyes: "I don't really like that joke of yours."
Qin Yan tilted her head back, a half-smile playing on her lips.
Gu Rong looked at Qin Yan and tilted his head: "Ayan, you've changed."
He grinned, revealing two slightly cute canine teeth: "But I still like you very much."
Qin Yan looked up at him quietly: "We need to get ready for the field training. If we don't go to the assembly soon, we'll be punished with frog jumps."
Gu Rong stared at her for a few seconds, then smiled and said, "Ayan is worried about me."
He reached out again, cupping Qin Yan's face affectionately, and gently stroked her cheek with his fingertips: "See you later."
Qin Yan's eyes were indifferent, and she showed no other expression.
Gu Rong shrugged, smiled, withdrew his hand, and walked towards the playground.
Qin Yan watched Gu Rong leave indifferently.
Suddenly, she looked away and glanced at Qin Wu, who had been staring at her, and curled her lips into a smile.
Lin Yang, who was next to Qin Wu, asked curiously, "Is your sister watching you? What did she say?"
All I could see was her lips moving, but from this distance, I had no idea what she was saying.
Lin Yang felt that Qin Yan today was nothing like the timid and cowardly girl he knew.
The difference from last night is too big, isn't it?
Qin Wu saw it, and saw it very clearly.
She spoke slowly, with perfect lip-reading, and only uttered two words.
--younger brother.
*
The students at the martial arts school split into several gangs.
One of the gangs was led by Gu Rong, a senior in high school. Qin Wu, a freshman, also became a leader by virtue of his ruthlessness and strong fists.
Another gang leader almost beat someone to death and is still in detention.
The three of them disliked each other, but usually got along peacefully.
If a conflict arises, even unrelated people will suffer.
Before enrolling in school, Qin Wu was just an ordinary student.
Aside from being excessively good-looking.
Although Gu Rong is good at fighting, brawling, and smoking, he wouldn't bully girls.
He was interested in Qin Yan, but that was all.
It wasn't until Qin Wu came to this school that the two had their first conflict.
When Gu Rong's underlings heard that Qin Yan was Qin Wu's sister, they wanted to take their anger out on Qin Wu's family. Behind Gu Rong's back, they broke Qin Yan's leg.
After this incident, Gu Rong summoned the people who had participated in beating Qin Yan to him and personally broke all of their legs.
At this point, at least those around Gu Rong knew that Qin Yan was untouchable.
Later, everyone learned that Qin Yan and Qin Wu actually had a bad relationship, which could be described as quite terrible.
After all, it's rare to hear of a younger brother bullying his older sister in school.
Qin Yan has been feeling quite comfortable these past few days recovering from her injury. During the day, she sits in the shade watching others train, and every day she attends classes with three to five other people in the classroom.
There were always very few students in class; they would either sneak out to internet cafes, go to nightclubs, or other places where the teenagers could have fun.
Ultimately, one cannot simply stay in the classroom and study diligently.
Qin Yan likes to stay in the classroom.
Although the teacher's lessons were boring, she understood everything he was saying.
But this made her feel at peace.
It is somewhat related to her original intention of retiring and enjoying her retirement.
When it was time for morning exercise again, Qin Yan took the initiative to approach Wang Hong.
"Is your injury healed?" Wang Hong looked Qin Yan up and down.
Qin Yan nodded: "It's all healed."
It was fine a few days ago, I just wanted to be lazy a little longer.
Training is something you should avoid if you can avoid it.
Wang Hong nodded: "Then go to the playground to assemble."
He also had to wake those brats up one by one.
These guys never get up on their own for even a single day.
Qin Yan stood still: "Coach, have you spoken to the Sanda class coach yet?"
Wang Hong was taken aback: "What kind of greeting?"
Qin Yan chuckled: "It's just that I need to tell them in advance about switching to the Sanda class, otherwise it would be quite sudden if I just went there."
Wang Hong had clearly forgotten about it; in fact, he hadn't taken it to heart at all.
Moreover, Qin Yan said she would prove herself, and he couldn't even imagine any way Qin Yan could prove herself enough to go to the Sanda class.
But he remained calm and did not intend to let Qin Yan see that he had not actually dealt with the matter: "I discussed it with the other teachers and felt that you were still a bit impulsive. After all, we understand your situation. After comprehensive consideration, we felt that you were more suitable to stay in the martial arts class."
Qin Yan wasn't in a hurry: "It's okay, teacher, I will prove it."
She smiled and said, "Then I'll do one last training session with my classmates from the martial arts class."
Before Wang Hong could say anything more, he saw the girl turn and walk towards the playground.
While I was lost in thought, someone patted my shoulder: "What are you standing there for? Go wake up your lazybones!"
Wang Hong turned his head and saw Liu Jian, who taught Sanda (Chinese kickboxing).
He stared at Liu Jian for a few seconds, then said, "Let me introduce you to a girl."
Liu Jian punched him in the chest and yelled, "Are you crazy? I have a wife!"
Wang Hong's mind was filled with Qin Yan's face, which he couldn't tell was either incredibly confident or overly arrogant.
Do you know Qin Yan from our class?
Liu Jian glared at him: "You're going to commit a crime? You're a minor!"
Wang Hong rolled her eyes in annoyance: "She said she's going to switch to practicing Sanda (Chinese kickboxing)."
This time, Liu Jian was stunned: "What misunderstanding does she have about me?"
Wang Hong was also helpless.
He wanted to know too.
*
Qin Yan followed the group and began the most friendly five-kilometer jog around the track.
In order to finish the training as soon as possible, Qin Yan took the lead.
Everyone else in the class was stunned.
Putting aside whether Qin Yan's stamina could keep up, she used to always be at the back of the group, and after half a lap, she would be left far behind.
Often, because she runs too slowly, she finishes when the last person has run.
In every training session, her training volume was always less than that of others.
Seeing Qin Yan running in the lead, a boy in the class mocked, "Qin Yan, if you lead the race, we probably won't finish in a whole morning."
Qin Yan turned around and smiled nonchalantly: "Then why don't you come and pursue me?"
Han Liqi laughed.
How did Qin Yan, who used to be quiet and sickly, suddenly become so shameless?
"Chasing you?" He looked at Qin Yan with disdain. "You think too highly of yourself."
Without saying a word, he rushed in front of Qin Yan: "Girls shouldn't be so reckless."
Han Li looked disdainful. He clearly needed to save his energy for running five kilometers, but he just took off running.
Qin Yan wasn't slow, so Han Li increased his speed slightly and ran in the lead.
Everyone else was speechless. What did it matter who ran in front? As long as they finished, it didn't count as a loss, as long as they weren't exhausted.
Everyone wanted to conserve their energy and run slowly until the end.
But clearly, there was one person who didn't think that way.
Qin Yan chased after her.
She rushed forward amidst everyone's astonished gazes, instantly overtaking Han Li.
Those around were stunned.
How did a jog turn into a 100-meter race?
Wait, when did Qin Yan become able to run this fast?
When Han Li saw that Qin Yan had surpassed him, he was unwilling to accept it and rallied to catch up, this time really putting all his strength into sprinting forward.
Indeed, he left Qin Yan dozens of meters away, and even turned around smugly to give Qin Yan a provocative look.
Han Li ran out of energy and slowed down. Since he had already left the main group far behind, he maintained his speed and ran slowly.
The people behind probably won't be able to catch up.
After all, it's a five-kilometer run; who wants to waste so much energy up the way?
Han Li thought so, so when he was steadily maintaining his original speed and leading the race, he was suddenly surprised to see Qin Yan, who had quietly caught up with him at some point and casually ran past him.
"..."
What's wrong with this guy?
It even has a speed boost feature?
Qin Yan was injured, and then she mutated.
Han Li wanted to catch up, but he found that he couldn't keep up.
I don't know if it's because I ran too fast at the beginning, or because I've been running quite hard since then.
Han Li could only watch helplessly as Qin Yan grew further and further away.
Wait a moment—
Further and further away?
Han Li watched the person getting further and further away from him, thinking it was his own fault, and then turned his head to look back.
The main group of their class was still dozens of meters away.
After confirming the situation of the others, Han Li looked at the person who was running further and further away, and the more he looked, the emptier his mind became.
Did Qin Yan secretly participate in some scientific experiment behind their backs these past few days and become the first successful mutant in history?
When the main group saw Qin Yan run past them effortlessly without any apparent discomfort, their eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.
After Qin Yan ran far away, even though everyone was exhausted, they still whispered among themselves while panting heavily.
"Is this really Qin Yan?"
"She's probably just showing off... She might want to perform well so the coach will agree to let her switch to Sanda (Chinese kickboxing)."
"Huh? She's going to practice Sanda (Chinese kickboxing)? You're kidding me."
"What's the deal with Qin Yan going to do Sanda (Chinese kickboxing)? I didn't know that."
“I happened to overhear it when I passed by this morning. She told the coach that she wanted to go to the Sanda class, but the coach did not agree.”
"What? She's going to do Sanda (Chinese kickboxing)? With her skill level, is she going to learn how to get beaten up?"
"That's true. I heard her brother often beats her, maybe it's so she can get beaten more easily."
When Qin Yan overtook the main group for the second lap, everyone was somewhat surprised.
"No, she's got that much stamina?"
"...I feel something's not right. She just got beaten up by her brother a while ago. Has she awakened something?"
"Big brother, is this what awakening is all about? She's running faster than us! Faster than us!"
"She's just trying to impress the coach. She'll be exhausted soon."
Qin Yan overtook the leading team by ten laps.
"...Have she finished running?"
"Right...she's started doing leg stretches."
"She must have been provoked by her brother."
"I think this kind of miracle can be included in the list of unsolved mysteries of mankind."
Wang Hong looked at Qin Yan, who was stretching on her own, and hesitated to speak.
Everyone present saw Qin Yan's performance just now, and several coaches came over to ask him what happened.
He wanted to know too.
Qin Yan had only recovered from her injury and resumed training; who would have thought she would become a completely different person from beginning to end?
She's pushing herself a bit too hard to get into the Sanda (Chinese kickboxing) class.
He needs to ask if Qin Yan has a twin sister or younger sister.
While stretching her legs, Qin Yan looked up at the eager-to-learn Wang Hong and said, "No, I only have one younger brother."
Seeing the disappointment and confusion on Wang Hong's face, Qin Yan asked, "So, Coach, has everything been arranged for the Sanda class?"
Wang Hong's expression was somewhat blank: "Wait for me to go and discuss it some more."
Qin Yan nodded in agreement.
When everyone finished running and came back to find an open space to rest, Wang Hong was still talking to several coaches.
A boy who was close to Qin Yan, after catching his breath, asked her, "Qin Yan, you look like everything's fine."
They were still full of energy, as if they hadn't experienced that terrifying five kilometers.
Qin Yan replied without changing her expression, "Because I've rested for a long time and have recovered."
The boy paused for a moment, seemingly without any problem.
He then asked, "No, what I meant was, how can you run so fast?"
Qin Yan calmly retorted, "Why can't you run so fast?"
"..."
We can't talk today.
Wang Hong was talking to the others, and after waving his hand helplessly, the coaches dispersed.
He walked back, patted Qin Yan on the shoulder, and sighed, "We'll talk about it this afternoon."
Qin Yan looked at him, lowered her head, and whispered, "I want to be in the same class as Qin Wu."
Unlike academic classes, which are divided by grade level, specialized classes are not divided by grade level.
For example, there is only one martial arts class.
Because there aren't many people in the whole school who study martial arts, all the students from the first year of high school to the third year of high school are in the same martial arts class.
Like other majors, which have a large number of students, they will be divided into several classes, but they are still made up of students from grades 10, 11, and 12.
Wang Hong was taken aback for a moment, then frowned as he looked at her: "You don't need to worry about this. Just focus on your training."
The teachers were generally aware of Qin Yan's situation, but the fact that Qin Wu bullied his older sister was known throughout the school.
There are no other solutions besides verbal warnings and phone calls to family members.
Qin Yan's decision to be in the same class as Qin Wu is practically asking for trouble.
This is like a lamb entering a tiger's den, offering itself up to be beaten.
Wang Hong ignored Qin Yan and, with a stern face, ordered everyone to line up: "Stop lying down! Get up, all of you!"
Martial arts classes differ from combat sports courses such as Sanda, Taekwondo, and Judo classes in that they do not have high requirements for actual combat.
During regular classes, students mainly practice various martial arts movements, such as wielding knives and spears.
While other classes were still painfully doing frog jumps and push-ups, they were doing leg stretches; while other classes were engaged in combat training, they were doing leg kicks.
Overall, the training intensity was relatively low.
Wang Hong led the class in continuing to practice the movements until the bell rang to signal the end of morning exercise.
Everyone else went back to the classroom, but Qin Yan was left behind.
Looking at Qin Yan's delicate and beautiful face, Wang Hong sighed again: "I think you should reconsider."
Qin Yan smiled and said, "Coach, I've thought it over. From before the injury to the time it took to recover, it wasn't a short period of time."
He continued to patiently persuade you: "You're already in your second year of high school. You can study whatever you want at other times, but this involves college entrance exams and your university studies. Switching to Sanda (Chinese kickboxing) now would be really disadvantageous for you."
Qin Yan: "Coach, I brought this up seriously because I was thinking about the college entrance exam."
Wang Hong realized that Qin Yan was truly unyielding, so he decided to highlight the key points of what he had just discussed with the other coaches: "It's not that you can't switch, but you have to show us your determination."
Qin Yan: "For example?"
"This afternoon's training session will involve a sparring match between you and a student from the Sanda class."
Wang Hong added, "We will discuss whether you are suitable to switch to Sanda based on your performance."
Qin Yan nodded and volunteered, "There's no need to discuss that other student, let's just have my younger brother."
Her eyes crinkled into a smile, innocent and sincere: "Coach, do you think this will work?"
*
The news that Qin Yan was going to transfer classes spread quickly.
We usually only hear about people switching to martial arts because the training is too tough, tiring, and difficult; we rarely hear about people switching from martial arts to other disciplines.
Lin Yang had just returned from the restroom and told Qin Wu the gossip he had heard: "Your sister wants to switch to Sanda (Chinese kickboxing)? What's wrong? Is she having second thoughts?"
Qin Wu didn't react immediately, and after a couple of seconds of stunned silence, she asked him, "What did you say?"
Lin Yang repeated, "Your sister wants to switch to Sanda (Chinese kickboxing), what, you didn't know?"
Qin Wu smiled crookedly: "How would I know? I'm the one who always has to contact her. My irresponsible sister would never take the initiative to contact me."
Lin Yang found it increasingly unbelievable: "Could Qin Yan have been beaten senseless?"
"Stupid?" Qin Wu uttered a single word softly.
He said disdainfully, "She's never been smart."
"But I still can't understand why she switched to Sanda (Chinese kickboxing)." Lin Yang scratched his face.
He was very curious when he overheard someone talking about this in the restroom. Qin Yan, who couldn't even do martial arts well, was practicing Sanda (Chinese kickboxing).
Is she just being pessimistic or overly optimistic?
Qin Wu never took Qin Yan seriously.
However, he could roughly guess what his cowardly and timid sister was thinking.
"Maybe he just didn't want to keep getting beaten up."
Qin Wu found it laughable: "Did something trigger you to rise up in resistance? You refuse to submit to others' violent threats? You want to learn to make yourself stronger?"
He grinned, a sinister smile on his face: "My stupid and incompetent sister."
Lin Yang spoke up again: "I also heard that the coach actually did not agree to her transferring to another class."
Qin Wu agreed: "Anyone with a brain wouldn't make such a choice."
Having spent a lot of time with Qin Wu, Lin Yang didn't think there was anything wrong with his younger brother's attitude towards his older sister.
After all, he was partly responsible for bullying Qin Yan.
Watching a beautiful girl cry in front of you is really powerful.
The person who made her cry was herself.
Lin Yang excitedly told Qin Wu about the rumors he had heard: "I also heard that she's going to find someone from a Sanda (Chinese kickboxing) class to spar with her this afternoon, but I don't know if it's true."
"oh?"
Qin Wu raised an eyebrow: "Real combat?"
His phoenix eyes narrowed into slits, and the corners of his mouth curled up in an unsettling arc: "It breaks my heart to see my sister being beaten by others."
Lin Yang suddenly exclaimed in a low voice, "Qin Wu, look, it's Gu Rong."
He muttered irritably, "This guy's been getting us into trouble lately, it's so annoying!"
Previously, fights only occurred when there were frictions between the two sides, but recently Gu Rong has been causing trouble for them without any explanation.
The key issue is that Gu Rong doesn't show up himself, but instead sends his own people to cause trouble.
Qin Wu didn't want to get involved with Gu Rong, so she lowered her eyes and said, "Let's go."
Gu Rong lay half-reclined on a bench under the shade of a tree, his eyes slightly closed.
His friends and underlings were laughing and joking around, some of them smoking cigarettes and acting like they were old hands at it, clearly having done this kind of thing before.
"I just heard some explosive news."
"Hmm? If this isn't exciting enough, I'll have Master Gu break your legs."
"Oh, this is some exciting news. I bet Mr. Gu is quite interested in it too."
Gu Rong remained in the same posture, not moving an inch, seemingly unaware that anyone had mentioned him.
I don't know if I'm asleep or not.
"Then tell me, and I'll beat you up for Master Gu."
"Qin Yan is going to switch to Sanda (Chinese kickboxing), and she'll be sparring with the Sanda class this afternoon."
Gu Rong, who had been keeping his eyes closed, opened them, his eyes clear and bright.
Say it again.
The others were stunned.
"Master Gu, you're not asleep?"
Gu Rong stared at the person who had just made the revelation and said, word by word, "Say what you just said again."
The man quickly replied, "I was called in for a talk this morning and happened to overhear the coaches discussing something. They said Qin Yan insisted on switching to Sanda (Chinese kickboxing), and to let her prove her determination and strength, they made her spar with people who learn Sanda, which was actually just to discourage her. I heard from the coaches that even after the sparring, they didn't plan to let her switch."
Gu Rong raised his eyebrows after hearing this.
"Did they say he was going to fight someone from a Sanda (Chinese kickboxing) class?"
The man shook his head: "I don't know, the candidate hasn't been decided yet."
He quickly added, "But it's said that Qin Yan insisted on fighting Qin Wu."
Gu Rong's face turned cold, and he sneered, "You've got guts, but no brains."
He got up and left, ignoring the group of people around him who were laughing and joking.
"Huh? Where is Master Gu going?"
"Shall we go to the restroom? Let's discuss where to go this afternoon first. How about playing pool?"
"I guess Master Gu won't be going this afternoon, right?"
"Huh? Why aren't we going? Didn't Master Gu say we were skipping training this afternoon?"
"But didn't you hear? Qin Yan is going to spar with the Sanda class this afternoon."
"Sanda class? That has nothing to do with me. I'm Jeet Kune Do."
"You're really stupid! Master Gu is a Sanda fighter!"
Gu Rong found Qin Wu in his classroom.
Before class even started, Gu Rong swaggered in. Almost everyone at the school recognized him and instinctively made way for him.
"Want to chat?" He tapped on Qin Wu's table.
No one around dared to make a sound, and they all instinctively moved away.
Qin Wu sat down and looked up at Gu Rong, who had a nonchalant expression: "What is it?"
"It's nothing. I heard that Qin Yan specifically asked for you in the practical training this afternoon."
Clearly, apart from Gu Rong, everyone else present was completely unaware of the situation and exclaimed in surprise.
Qin Wu was also surprised, but he didn't show it. He simply asked calmly, "So?"
"So?" Gu Rong repeated the two words with amusement, "Let's talk privately?"
"We don't have much to talk about."
Qin Wu smiled crookedly: "You seem to care a lot about that bitch."
Gu Rong smiled, looking thoughtful, then suddenly realized and leaned forward: "You're that bastard's brother."
“Hmm,” Gu Rong’s eyes were like the moon, “You little slut.”
Qin Wu slammed his hand on the table and stood up, knocking over the chair with him.
The two faces were very close together.
"Gu Rong, I advise you not to go too far."
Gu Rong still smiled.
The next second, he grabbed a table and smashed it at Qin Wu.
Qin Wu's reaction was slow, but her body reacted faster than her brain. She instinctively used her arm to block in front of her, but she was still hit hard by the table and fell to the ground.
Seeing this, the others became aggressive and wanted to fight Gu Rong.
Gu Rong simply said, "It's a personal grudge. I didn't bring any men. If you help him, you'll have to bear the consequences."
Others dared not speak out against their anger, and not everyone in the class was on good terms with Qin Wu.
Qin Wu has a bad temper. He gets into arguments with others at the slightest provocation, and these arguments often escalate into physical fights. He bullies others at school because he is good at fighting.
Because they couldn't beat them, everyone usually kept a low profile, but they were still resentful inside.
Qin Wu endured the pain and stood up. Without saying a word, he picked up a stool and threw it at Gu Rong.
Gu Rong grabbed the stool leg and forcefully pressed the stool down on Qin Wu. The weight of the stool pressed down on Qin Wu, forcing him to retreat repeatedly.
Despite Qin Wu's efforts to push the stool forward, he was not strong enough and was forced against the back wall of the classroom by Gu Rong, unable to move.
Gu Rong's smile widened, and he raised his foot to kick Qin Wu's knee.
Qin Wu was in pain, and her legs suddenly lost strength, causing her to slide down.
Gu Rong threw the stool aside, grabbed Qin Wu by the collar and lifted him up, then punched him repeatedly in the face.
Qin Wu's right eye was bruised and blackened, his nose was broken and blood was gushing down his nose, and his mouth was also bruised.
In just a short while, half of Qin Wu's face was swollen from being slapped.
"The teacher is here! The teacher is here!" someone shouted outside the classroom.
The news of Gu Rong assaulting someone spread quickly throughout the entire floor, and everyone crowded outside the door to watch, forming a dense, three-layered circle.
Some people even brought stools just to see what was happening inside.
The teacher finally managed to push through the crowd and squeeze into the classroom.
Gu Rong hasn't stopped yet.
No one dared to break up the fight; they all watched with fear as Gu Rong waved his hand repeatedly.
Qin Wu wanted to fight back, but his legs were too weak to support his weight and he couldn't stand up. One heavy punch after another pounded into his face, and he could only instinctively use his hands to protect himself, unable to retaliate at all.
"Gu Rong!" Qin Wu's homeroom teacher reached out and grabbed Gu Rong's hand, pulling him back.
Gu Rong didn't struggle and said in a low voice, "Consider yourself lucky."
Then she laughed and loosened his collar.
He put on an innocent expression for the angry teacher: "I admit my mistake, I reflect on my actions, and I accept the apology."
The homeroom teacher didn't expect him to be so cooperative, and swallowed back all the words of scolding he had been holding back.
He didn't forget to check Qin Wu's injuries first; her head was swollen and her face was covered in blood, making her look particularly gruesome.
"Hurry up and help Qin Wu to the infirmary! Don't delay!"
Several boys hurriedly pulled on each other's arms, one grabbed the left arm, another lifted the right arm, and a few others led the way, while a few more escorted them from behind. The group quickly disappeared outside the classroom.
The homeroom teacher turned to Gu Rong again: "You!"
Gu Rong maintained a respectful attitude, appearing to be humbly listening to and accepting criticism: "Yes."
After cursing a thousand times in his mind, the homeroom teacher gritted his teeth and said, "Come with me!"
The two arrived at the office one after the other, and the homeroom teacher called over Gu Rong's homeroom teacher and the coach in charge.
The atmosphere was heavy.
In the end, it was coach Liu Gang who took charge of holding people accountable: "Why did you fight?"
Gu Rong remained nonchalant and did not answer the question: "I heard Qin Yan is going to switch to Sanda (Chinese kickboxing)?"
Liu Gang frowned, his voice becoming much sterner: "I'm asking you a question! Don't interrupt me! Tell me! Why did you fight?"
Gu Rong still didn't answer, but instead asked, "Who was Qin Yan's actual combat opponent? Qin Wu?"
Liu Gang slammed his fist on the table: "Gu Rong!"
Gu Rong: "Yes, I'm listening."
Liu Gang was so angry he didn't want to think anymore: "Give me thirty push-ups!"
Gu Rong tilted his head, smiling eagerly: "You'll tell me after you're done?"
Liu Gang made a move as if to kick him, but Gu Rong wisely bent down before the foot touched him.
Thirty push-ups were not difficult for Gu Rong; he did them without even turning red in the face or getting out of breath.
Liu Gang gritted his teeth: "Don't give me any nonsense. Tell me why you fought!"
Gu Rong said casually, "It's an eyesore, I can't help but want to hit it."
"An eyesore?" Liu Gang laughed angrily. "Did someone get in your way just by being in their own classroom? Did you go to all the way upstairs from downstairs to beat them up?"
Gu Rong smiled broadly, revealing a set of white teeth: "Yes, that's right."
Liu Gang gave up.
A gentle education is not suitable for him.
"Come down with me."
"Um?"
"Frog-jumping up the stairs, twice."
Gu Rong's smile vanished: "Coach, I confess."
“It’s too late,” Liu Gang grinned menacingly. “There’s no need to give any reasons. That’s it.”
"It's an eyesore, I don't want to hear it."
Gu Rong walked to the stairwell, dawdling along.
Liu Gang followed behind him: "Aren't you leaving? Do you want me to kick you down the stairs?"
Undeterred by Qin Yan's question, Gu Rong said, "Coach, I volunteer to be Qin Yan's sparring partner."
"Anyone is fine, but not you. What, you want to cripple a girl?"
Gu Rong smiled nonchalantly: "How could that be? I like her so much."
After climbing two flights of stairs, Gu Rong's legs were completely worn out.
Liu Gang left him there, warning him that he wouldn't be so gentle next time they fought.
Gu Rong sat on the stairs, and people passing by avoided him as if he were a snake or a scorpion.
Then he saw Qin Yan walking upstairs carrying a stack of test papers.
"Ayan."
Qin Yan walked past him without looking to the side, as if she couldn't hear him.
"Ayan."
Qin Yan looked down at the hand with its distinct knuckles on her wrist: "Let go."
Gu Rong looked up at her and simply smiled, "How about I be your opponent this afternoon?"
"I sent Qin Wu to the hospital because of my beating. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to." The words were meant to be an apology, but the tone was anything but sincere.
Qin Yan, who was studying diligently and paying close attention in class, didn't receive the first-hand news: "Hmm?"
It was a plot twist she hadn't anticipated.
"He can't be your match anymore." Gu Rong gripped her wrist, his face smiling gently, but his deep eyes held a hint of danger.
"I'm very strong too."
"Ayan, choose me."
The grip on her wrist tightened.
"Is that not allowed?"
