Chapter 64

Chapter 64

"...It's alright, I can still live."

Xiao Luo reached out and punctured the membrane covering her face. Warm mosaic splattered onto her face. She calmly wiped it clean with the back of her hand, leaving her hand covered in mosaic as well.

[Special ability, sin and punishment triggered.]

"Where is this?" Xiao Luo kicked aside an arm-shaped mosaic and tilted her head in confusion.

Why did she change locations again?

The Law on the Protection of Minors is in effect.

The main system 09 reminds you: There's a child here, please be careful.

On the other side, Fyodor, who was confronting Dazai Osamu, silently watched the man who remained unharmed despite his signal.

The sniper he arranged... got into trouble.

Fyodor nervously bit his fingers, thankfully he had a backup sniper. But what exactly happened there?

Dazai Osamu casually wore Fyodor's hat. He could have easily noticed Fyodor's momentary emotional instability, but the silent corpse of a girl in the corner caught his attention.

Looking at the scarlet blood, Dazai Osamu felt uneasy.

A bullet hurtled towards him from afar, piercing through him. Only then did Dazai Osamu realize something was wrong. He stumbled and steadied himself against the wall, looking at Fyodor with a smile and asking, "Did your plan go wrong?"

Fyodor's expression remained unchanged as he calmly stepped over the pool of blood and walked out of the alley.

Through the earpiece, the subordinate's investigation continued: "The sniper we arranged has been torn to pieces. There's only a child who looks like you at the scene. Judging from the bloodstains, it looks like she crawled out of the corpse's body."

Fyodor stopped what he was doing, indicating that he understood.

"Crime and punishment... My daughter? Interesting."

Having located the spot where his men had died, Fyodor slowly ascended the stairs, listening to the light footsteps descending from the top floor, and then slowly looked up.

Xiao Luo, who was upstairs, heard the announcement that her father was approaching. The child happily followed the directions and came down to find her father.

Fyodor's calm expression faltered when he saw the little girl, covered in blood but still running towards him with a smile.

The little girl casually wiped her cheek with the back of her blood-stained hand, leaving a bright red streak of dark red blood across her face.

The child, seeing her father staring intently at her, thought she had accidentally gotten something dirty, but unfortunately, her body was covered in mosaics, and she couldn't see anything clearly.

Xiao Luo touched her face guiltily, then looked at Fyodor with a cheerful expression: "Daddy, Xiao Luo has found you again."

Fyodor remained silent for a long time before letting out a soft laugh. He lowered his head, his whole body trembling. "You...you really have surprised me."

A minute later, although Xiao Luo didn't know what was going on, she successfully got into her father's car.

Looking at the white-haired subordinate driving for the other party, the little girl was delighted to discover that her policeman father was actually an official.

"Daddy, do you know that Xiao Luo is your daughter?" the little girl asked happily.

Fyodor lowered his eyes, his gaze on her deep as he pondered Xiao Luo's origins and purpose.

A little guy who is so similar to him that even his superpowers are the same.

As we all know, supernatural abilities are unique. So, is this child a copy of him or a product of experimentation?

In order to find out the truth, Fyodor had Ivan take her to the laboratory.

Hearing the child's question, he calmly admitted, "Of course."

"Wow!" Little Luo was overjoyed to have such a straightforward father for the first time. "Daddy, Daddy! Can you call me Daddy?"

Although Fyodor didn't understand, he still answered, "No."

"Why?"

Fyodor thought for a moment and calmly replied, "Because your current age and gender are not yet sufficient for me to call you father."

The child was confused for a moment. "Can't I? Why? What should I do?"

She asked, puzzled, "What if Xiao Luo wants to be your daughter?"

“Yes, given our relationship, you can rightfully be my daughter,” Fyodor replied patiently.

Xiao Luo paused: "...You don't need to call me dad to be your daughter?"

The little girl looked at Fyodor in disbelief. What did he mean? Didn't Little Lori, as her father's daughter, need him to call her "Dad"?

What about all her previous efforts?

"Yes."

After receiving Fyodor's confirmation, the child opened the panel in disbelief.

Seeing the "task completed" sign above broke my heart. It felt like a kind of redemption—I'd studied hard for days to finish my Chinese homework, only to realize during the actual assignment that it was math.

The little girl burst into tears; she was in such a terrible state.

Fyodor couldn't understand why the little girl would suddenly cry during such a short conversation.

He looked at the dirty child covered in blood, tears mingling with dried blood as they streamed down her face.

Fyodor, unable to bear it any longer, took a tissue and wiped her face. "Why are you crying?"

Xiao Luo cried her heart out, but she would never reveal the reason for her tears. She sobbed and wiped away her tears, choking out, "Xiao Luo wants to eat ice cream."

The black-haired youth paused. The little girl genuinely wanted ice cream, but he couldn't understand how she could put ice cream and the term "father" together.

He gently folded the handkerchief and wiped the child's face clean. "In that case, could you do me a favor? After you're done, Ivan can take you shopping."

A gentle voice sounded in her ear, and Xiao Luo's crying subsided a little.

"What are you doing?" she asked, her voice hoarse from crying.

"Just a little blood."

The car arrived at a safe house. Rats sometimes hide not only in dark underground places, but also in lively crowds.

Fyodor took one vial of blood from Lori, and the child was washed and dressed and sent to the street to buy things.

Xiao Luo stood in the middle of the street, watching the white-haired man who had brought her leave, looking bewildered. Why did this uncle leave? Where was her ice cream?

The little girl looked around at the dazzling array of goods with a puzzled expression, her eyes sparkling with confusion.

Fortunately, at that moment, I heard someone shouting that they were selling ice cream from the roadside.

A young man dressed as a clown cheerfully pushed a cart past Xiao Luo.

The little girl's eyes lit up, and she ran up excitedly: "Uncle, uncle, are you selling ice cream?"

"That's right!" the young man said cheerfully, drawing out the syllable. The shop owner's tone was high-spirited. "Question: What's your favorite ice cream?"

Little Luo cheered, "I want the strawberry flavor!"

In the dimly lit room, Fyodor stared at the report showing a 99.9% affinity between himself and the person on it, pressing his forehead in frustration. Now he needed to figure out who he had offended.

When did I get infected and have my genes obtained by someone else?

At that moment, the door on the first floor was suddenly pushed open.

Hearing the commotion, Fyodor went outside to investigate. Even though she had changed into other clothes, the little girl, who looked remarkably like him, stormed in angrily.

The little girl walked straight past him and went into the house.

Fyodor looked at her actions with some confusion and asked, "What's wrong?"

Hearing the sound, Xiao Luo turned around angrily and saw Fyodor. Upon seeing him, the child immediately ran over angrily and loudly complained, "Dad! Do you know what? There's a really bad ice cream shop at the street corner!"

Street corner? Fyodor thought for a moment. He couldn't remember any ice cream shops at the street corner. Could it be a mobile stall?

"What's wrong?" he asked calmly.

"Dad, do you know what? The ice cream in the store only costs 400 yen, but he's trying to sell it for 5000 yen! This guy is such a swindler, he has no integrity whatsoever, he's so mean!" the little girl exclaimed excitedly.

Fyodor calmly soothed her emotions. Was he a bit calculating? He remembered that he had given her more than 5,000 yen in cash.

Was the little girl trying to save money by not buying it?

"That's right!" Xiao Luo scolded loudly, "The ice cream Xiao Luo used to eat only cost a few hundred, and even the most expensive one would never exceed 1,000."

He's selling it for such a high price, and he's so bad at business, Xiao Luo will absolutely not buy it!!

Fyodor looked at the agitated child and tried to reassure him: "It's alright, isn't it? Anyway, you didn't buy anything, so you didn't suffer any loss."

Hearing her father's advice, Xiao Luo became even angrier. Her face flushed red with anger, and she exclaimed, "Dad! The worst part is, he only accepts cards, he won't take cash!!!"

Fyodor: ...

"So... after all that you've said, you've actually already decided to buy it, right?"
