Chapter 68
Xiao Luo lay down unhappily, angrily accusing Gogol of breaking his promise.
Gogol explained that he would not be bound by the shackles of promises.
The two, one big and one small, faced off. Gogol, who hadn't seen the expression when he fell off the roller coaster, now saw it. The little girl stomped her feet in anger.
After a long while, Xiao Luo suddenly remembered that she seemed to still have some pocket money that her father had given her.
Hmm, then we don't need to stay at an impasse with Gogol.
The child ran off in an instant, and Gogol watched as she went to the ice cream stand next door. He grinned and pulled out a wad of cash from mid-air, staring at the little girl with a leisurely air.
Xiao Luo had gone there excitedly, ready to buy ice cream and pay, but when she reached into her pocket...
"Huh?" The child turned his head in confusion. Where was her money?
She turned her head and saw Gogol standing not far away, waving a bunch of banknotes at her happily.
Xiao Luo: ……
She turned around angrily and pressed the key around her neck; Xiao Luo couldn't stay here any longer.
She's going home to tell her dad!
The young man approached, bent down, and looked at her with a smile: "Oh dear, Xiao Luo is out of money, what should we do?"
How about trying to beg the clown to let the great Uncle Gogol pay your bill?
Xiao Luo stopped what she was doing and said without hesitation, "Please."
Gogol paused for a moment. Although he was somewhat dissatisfied with how quickly the little girl had switched sides, he still used Xiao Luo's money to buy her ice cream.
"If you eat my ice cream, you have to listen to me. Let the clown think about why Fedia suddenly changed her mind and started taking care of you. Little Lori, you must know the answer yourself... Where is she?"
After buying ice cream for Little Lo, Gogol deliberately waved his finger and made a dramatic turn with curious eyes.
Then the little guy who was originally next to the stall disappeared.
Gogol looked at the ice cream stand owner with suspicion. The owner hurriedly waved his hand, not noticing that the child, who had previously only had his hat sticking out from under his stand, had disappeared as soon as he crawled under him.
Xiao Luo carefully licked the ice cream that was rightfully hers, pressed the key on the owner's mobile food cart, and swaggered inside.
She's determined to tell her father, and she won't back down!
Gogol, who remained where he was, looked around and finally realized with dismay that he had lost the child.
How could someone steal a child right under the clown's nose?
Gogol's fighting spirit was rekindled. He made a very vivid gesture of rolling up his sleeves and announced with a grin, "The clown is getting serious!"
The system looked at Xiao Luo, who was walking in and out, and tilted its head in confusion.
What is Xiao Luo doing?
The sound of the door closing came through, followed by a child's rapid shout: "Looking for Daddy!"
In the dark and secluded mine tunnel, the little girl scratched her head in confusion, looking around.
Where is this? Where is her father?
The child diligently searched, and in the dim cave, she carefully picked up a small stone, tilted her head to look down, and asked, "Daddy?"
She didn't see her father, but she heard someone ahead through the sound of the rocks rattling.
The child immediately looked up curiously.
A nimble fat man sprinted toward her, followed by two figures, one in black and one in white, chasing after him frantically.
"Hi!" Xiao Luo greeted the two familiar faces behind her happily. "Big brothers, long time no see! Have you seen my dad?"
Pushkin was suddenly grabbed on the shoulder and ran in a panic. Suddenly, he saw a child in front of him. Although he felt something was off, he was overjoyed when he heard the child talking to the people chasing him. Without thinking, he immediately grabbed the little girl and took her hostage in order to escape.
"Don't come any closer!" the fat man shouted breathlessly. "If she takes another step, I'll kill her!"
Atsushi Nakajima abruptly stopped in his tracks, his pupils contracting. Why were there children here?!
Without time to think, and seeing that Ryunosuke Akutagawa was about to pass him, Atsushi Nakajima grabbed him and stopped him. "Wait! He has a hostage!"
He said eagerly.
"Enough with the nonsense!" Akutagawa frowned, glaring fiercely at Pushkin. "How did a child suddenly appear here? Besides, what does it matter if we die, as long as we can complete Mr. Dazai's mission!"
As he spoke, his Rashomon-like figure lunged menacingly at Pushkin.
Atsushi Nakajima tried to stop him, but it was too late. He glared angrily at Pushkin, who was using the little girl as a shield, and lunged forward, shouting, "Stop!"
Pushkin was horrified. He held the little girl up in front of him and cried out in terror for the backup plan Fyodor had left him.
Atsushi Nakajima blocked half of the black beast that was about to stab Koro, while the other half was blocked by a mound of earth that suddenly appeared.
A silver-haired man with bandages wrapped around his forehead emerged from underground, laughing loudly.
Pushkin was relieved to see Ivan finally arrive, and was about to say something before fleeing.
The shield in her arms spoke first, greeting the man warmly in a cheerful voice: "Uncle Ivan! Long time no see!"
Ivan's smile vanished, and Pushkin lowered his head in shock.
The little girl in my arms asked happily, "Have you seen my daddy?"
Ivan tilted his head, looking hesitantly at the little girl on the ground: "Miss Xiaoluo? Didn't Master say you went to the amusement park?"
Pushkin's shock gradually turned into terror. The dim light, combined with his initial panic, meant he could only now make out the hostage's features.
How come he looks so much like that demon who threatened him to work?
Pushkin glanced at him casually with his grape-red eyes, watching as the little girl grinned and raised her hand: "Little Luo misses her dad, I've come to find him. Uncle Ivan, where is Dad?"
Ivan tilted his head, as if thinking or listening, and replied after a few seconds: "I'm sorry, Miss. I cannot disclose the master's whereabouts at this time."
The chubby Pushkin's heart, which had been hanging in suspense, finally died. He trembled as he released the little girl's neck and took a step back in horror.
Damn it, Fyodor didn't mention he had a daughter!
Meanwhile, Atsushi Nakajima and Ryunosuke Akutagawa also learned of the little girl's identity through their conversation.
Ryunosuke Akutagawa angrily shoved Atsushi Nakajima aside, shouting, "Damn tiger! I already told you this is an enemy trick. Get out of my way and don't interfere with Dazai-san's plan!"
Atsushi Nakajima was shocked when he was pushed away. He hesitated as he looked at the bright and cheerful girl opposite him. Was she... the enemy?
When Xiao Luo couldn't find her father with Ivan, she moved on to her next target. "Brother Tiger, have you seen my father?"
Atsushi Nakajima shook his head, then received a sharp rebuke from Ryunosuke Akutagawa beside him: "Idiot! Don't talk to the enemy."
The little tiger scratched his head, looking aggrieved. He... didn't say anything, did he?
