Second Dad

Second Dad

But that's alright, Paul Verlaine has plenty of patience with his family.

"That's not right, Xiao Luo. You can't be a mother and a father's brother at the same time."

Do you know about family ethics and the terms used to address family members? Family members are defined by their kinship, respect, and responsibility.

Xiao Luo, you must remember that if you lose any one of these things, it could lead to an irreversible outcome.

The same applies to addressing family members; it's impossible for family members to be both "this" and "that" at the same time...

The little girl listened to Verlaine's patient and persuasive words, completely stunned.

How can this person be so long-winded?

She hadn't originally intended to change the way she addressed him. She heard Verlaine say it three or four times, but because she didn't like it, she subconsciously ignored it.

Unexpectedly, this aroused Verlaine's compassionate heart.

The child covered his ears in distress: "Uncle, can we please stop talking?"

“That’s right, Xiao Luo should call me Uncle,” Verlaine said with great satisfaction. Xiao Luo was such an obedient child, admitting her mistake and correcting it. “Uncle is different from Mother; it refers to the father…”

The little girl, wearing a mask of pain, said, "Uncle, I was wrong, I've corrected it. Let's go find Daddy."

"This uncle is so scary!" The little girl sniffed and thought sadly, "If my new dad is like this uncle, I think I'll be so sad I'll die."

A child who could manipulate gravity appeared, and perfectly inherited his supernatural ability. Mori Ōgai couldn't possibly remain uninvolved in such a situation.

As he accompanied Verlaine on the road to find the leader, the little boy sniffed nervously and clung tightly to the hem of the man's suit jacket the whole way.

Like a chick following its mother hen, it follows her step by step, afraid of being nagged again.

Verlaine's basement was at the deepest part of the building. When Xiao Luo passed by the basement, she seemed to hear a familiar sound.

The little girl's ears twitched, she hesitated for a moment, glanced at Verlaine, and then made up her mind to let go.

"Little Luo, what's wrong?" Lingling asked considerately.

The little girl looked in the direction the voice came from, her expression serious: "Oh no, the princess has been captured by the monster again."

[Huh?] Lingling was momentarily stunned. What princess? Tang Sanzang turned into a princess?

After a pause, I realized that the princess the little girl was talking about was Yumeno Kyusaku.

Verlaine noticed something was wrong with the child beside him, and tried to soften his voice as he asked with a hint of inquiry, "What's wrong, little Luo?"

"There, Xiao Luo's best friend is locked up." The little girl clenched her fist angrily. "They're all so mean! Uncle, don't move, Xiao Luo will come to find you after she saves the princess!"

That place was the Mafia's dungeon, and Verlaine didn't care much about who was imprisoned there, but it wouldn't do for the little girl to go there alone.

What if Xiao Luo gets hurt in such a dangerous place?

Princess? Verlaine pictured a little girl about the same age as Xiao Luo in his mind. He gently patted the girl's head and said softly, "I'll go with you."

The journey was smooth and unobstructed.

Yumeno Kyusaku, after going through his usual crazy tantrum because someone brought him breakfast, hugged his doll with a gloomy expression.

Alone in the solitary confinement cell, with no one to keep him company except for the person who brought him food three times a day, he could only utter a few curses during these times.

The boy played alone with the doll in his hands, feeling the pain in his body. He stared at the closed iron gate with resentment in his eyes, muttering unknown curses under his breath.

"Yumeno Kyusaku!" The huge iron gate was pounded on from the outside, and a little girl's clear, cheerful voice rang out as she called out Yumeno Kyusaku's name, "Are you in there?"

The unexpected sound startled Yumeno Kyusaku for a moment.

"Who...are you?" the boy murmured.

Little Luo patted the iron gate happily, looking excitedly at Verlaine beside her, "Uncle, Uncle! Look, this time it's Yumeno Kyusaku who can talk!"

Verlaine didn't know who Yumeno Kyusaku was, nor did he know if he could speak.

The man smiled as he looked at Xiao Luo, but upon hearing the voice inside, his eyes narrowed. A man? And he'd forgotten about his adorable little niece?

Scumbag!

His expression was rather unpleasant. Well, what good thing could be locked up in a Mafia dungeon?

Verlaine began to consider whether or not to take Little Lori away.

Meanwhile, the little girl next to her had already started tearing open the iron gate with great energy. That's right, she was using gravity to help herself cosplay as the Hulk.

He tore open a passage just big enough for himself to squeeze through, and the child crawled in, shouting, "Yumeno Kyusaku!"

The little girl, with a bright smile, looked at him happily; her big eyes lit up the moment she saw him.

Yumeno Kyusaku's pupils contracted slightly, and he lowered his eyes somewhat timidly.

The moment Xiao Luo saw Yumeno Kyusaku, her eyes lit up.

She happily stretched out her hand and gestured, grinning from ear to ear, "Yumeno Kyusaku! You've gotten shorter!"

The little girl, who used to have to look up, can now look straight ahead, or even vaguely look down at.

"I didn't!" Yumeno Kyusaku immediately retorted, feeling slighted about his height. The boy frowned unhappily, "I've grown taller. I can't wear my clothes from last year anymore."

Xiao Luo blinked, looking sympathetic. "Then Yumeno Hisasaku will have no clothes to wear."

"Then I'll give you the clothes, Xiaoluo." The little girl was very generous. "It just so happens that Yumeno Kyusaku has become a dwarf, so he can wear Xiaoluo's clothes."

I got called short again. Does this guy not understand human language?

Yumeno Kyusaku's expression darkened. What had just happened to him?

Why argue with her? Just teach her a lesson by subjecting her to the hell of brain marrow.

But the boy still didn't make a move, perhaps because he was too lonely there alone. It was rare to see a child his own age, and Yumeno Kyusaku found it difficult to approach him.

The boy pursed his lips. "Who are you? Do we know each other?"

Xiao Luo's eyes widened: "Don't Yumeno Kyusaku recognize Xiao Luo? We're super, super, super best friends."

Nonsense, I've never even met her, let alone know her. Or maybe this idiot has mistaken her for someone else?

Yumeno Kyusaku felt deceived, and gave an angry sneer, a cold glint flashing in his dark eyes, "Fine, then do you want to hug me?"

"Not really." Xiao Luo shook her head honestly.

Yumeno Kyusaku sneered, his expression twisted with jealousy. So jealous! Same name, and Yumeno Kyusaku has such a good friend?

He said maliciously, "If you won't even hug me, then Yumeno Kyusaku and I are not good friends at all."

"Because you're injured, if Xiaolu hugs you, won't it hurt Yumeno Kyusaku?" Xiaolu scratched her face and explained earnestly, but upon hearing Yumeno Kyusaku's next words, she retorted, "Nonsense! Although Xiaolu didn't hug you, but... but..."

The children racked their brains trying to find evidence to prove that they and the other person were good friends.

"But Xiao Luo knows that Yumeno Kyusaku's butt is super white! And it has a mole on it! It's a mole that proves they're good friends!"

To prove it, she started racking her brains to make up stories.

Yumeno Hisaku:......

"Boom!"

A loud crash came from behind him, and Verlaine's smile finally vanished. The iron gate shattered, and in the dim red light, he looked down at Yumeno Kyusaku with an ugly expression.
