Third Dad
The colleagues around her had clearly witnessed the fate of the burly man in black. When Xiao Luo asked them for it, how could they dare refuse?
Then, Dazai Osamu's phone started ringing one after another.
Brother, brother, call out "Dad" once.
Hang up and block in one go.
Xiao Luo remained silent, only focusing on changing her phone.
Dazai Osamu remained silent, only blocking the other person's contact.
Even Mori Ougai, who was standing to the side, couldn't stand it anymore. He put down his pen with curiosity, stroked his chin, and leaned over to see who was so fearless as to harass Dazai Osamu time and time again.
"Dazai, how come you're suddenly so popular?"
Mori Ōgai's eyes blazed with gossip, and he asked curiously.
Dazai Osamu didn't even answer the phone this time, simply blocking it. Without turning around, he engaged in a battle of wits with the child on the other end, lazily replying, "It's Little Lo, all of these are her calls."
"Oh?" Mori Ougai perked up, pondering the reason for the little girl's behavior. "Maybe Koro has something to ask you. Dazai, you can go and check on her."
Dazai Osamu glanced at his phone, which was nearing its end of battery, tapped the screen twice, and then chose to turn it off. With a fluid motion, he slipped the phone into his pocket with one hand, picked up Alice's crayons, and began doodling on her drawing.
Seeing that the originally innocent crayon drawing had been completely altered by him, the boy let out a strange laugh and casually replied, "Little Luo suddenly went crazy. She keeps grabbing me and making me call her dad."
Mori Ougai nodded in understanding: "That's fine too, after all, you're practically her father... wait,"
The man's understanding expression suddenly froze, his eyes widening slightly as he hesitated, "Dazai, did you just say it backwards?"
"No." Dazai Osamu turned his head with a strange smile, scribbles furiously on the white paper with a black crayon, and grinned menacingly at Mori Ougai. "She just wants me to call her dad!"
If it were just a child simply calling him "Dad," Dazai Osamu wouldn't be so annoyed. Now, it's the little girl who's completely obsessively focused on getting Dazai Osamu to call her "Dad!"
Mori Ougai fell silent. Even if he had no conscience, he couldn't bring himself to say that Xiao Luo was just innocent.
I feel like this goes beyond blatant lying.
"Ahem, this isn't a solution, Dazai. You can't keep hiding from Koro. Let me ask her for you." Mori Ougai coughed and took out his phone.
"By the way, how do I contact her?"
Xiao Luo tried calling the phone several times but couldn't get through. She looked at the owner of the phone with suspicion and asked, "Uncle, what's wrong?"
The phone's owner was a burly, tall man. He cautiously approached Xiao Luo, hesitated for a moment upon hearing the child's question, and then said tentatively, "It's probably Dazai's phone that's out of battery."
He actually thought that Dazai Osamu must have been annoyed and turned off his phone, but he didn't dare say that.
Xiao Luo returned the phone to the other person, scratching her head in distress: "Uncle, what do you think it will take for my brother to call me Dad?"
The man remained silent, not daring to respond.
As expected of Dazai's sister, she's probably the only one who would want to be her brother's father.
He felt that no matter what, Dazai Osamu would never call her father.
In the hall where the atmosphere was so heavy that no one dared to speak, the phone finally rang. The colleagues around him looked at the unlucky guy whose phone was ringing with the eyes of someone who had just died.
The other person also looked terrified, and with a desperate, trembling expression, they pulled out their phone to see which enemy had called them.
The moment he saw the phone number, the big man's expression changed, and he quickly answered the call, bringing the phone to his ear.
His colleagues were shocked, looking at him as if he were a warrior. When did this guy become so bold?
The big man didn't want to, but seeing the leader's call displayed on the screen, he had no choice but to answer.
The burly man trembled as he brought the phone to his ear and respectfully whispered, "Boss, what are your orders?"
Mori Ougai chuckled softly on the other end of the phone, smiling and indicating that the other person shouldn't be nervous. He just had something to tell the girl and wanted to borrow his phone to convey it.
"So, could you please lend her your phone for a moment?"
"Yes, yes." The burly man stammered, respectfully accepting the order. He quickly walked to the little girl's side and handed her the phone. Under the little girl's questioning gaze, the burly man covered the microphone with fear and whispered, "The leader wants to see you."
Sitting on the table, Xiao Luo collected everyone's cell phones one by one. She sat cross-legged on the table, eating the snacks offered by her subordinates, and kept dialing Dazai Osamu's cell phone.
Hearing the burly man's actions, she glanced at him and obediently took the phone.
"Uncle Chief, what did you want to see me about? Little Luo is so busy right now, how about we play together later?"
He was about to hang up the phone when he said that.
Mori Ōgai quickly swallowed the idle chatter he was about to say to the little girl and changed the subject to attract her attention, focusing instead on topics related to Dazai Osamu.
"Xiao Luo, Dazai is with me now."
The child stopped hanging up the phone, and Xiao Luo said happily, "Really? Uncle Leader, please ask my brother if he's willing to call me Dad now?"
Mori Ōgai suddenly covered his mouth, but couldn't help but chuckle softly, his shoulders trembling. Although he had been told beforehand by Dazai Osamu, he was still taken aback when he suddenly heard his daughter insisting that he call her "Dad."
It's still so funny!
Under Dazai Osamu's gloomy gaze, Mori Ougai coughed lightly, pretending not to see him, and turned back to continue talking to Koro.
"Little Luo, why do you call Dazai 'Dad'?" Mori Ougai asked in a low voice, feigning surprise.
The little girl sighed deeply, pretending to be mature for her age: "Xiao Luo didn't want to either, but who told Xiao Luo to be her brother's daughter? Her brother doesn't want Xiao Luo to call him Dad."
There was no other way; one of the father and daughter had to call him "Dad," so Xiao Luo had to let her brother call him that.
Mori Ougai covered his face and couldn't help but laugh again. He looked at Dazai Osamu with a smile and said, "Dazai, what Xiaoluo said doesn't seem to make any mistakes. One of the father and daughter has to call the other 'Dad'."
Dazai Osamu stared expressionlessly at Mori Ougai's gloating face, a chilling smile creeping across his face. "Mr. Mori, if you say one more word, I'm not working anymore."
Mori Ougai immediately shut up, making a zipping motion to indicate that he would not say anything more.
