Third Dad
Five buildings in the port area —
"This place looks familiar. Has Xiaoluo been here before?" The little girl tilted her head up in confusion and asked Dazai Osamu.
Dazai Osamu remained expressionless. "You're asking me? Who should I ask? Who knows what's going on in your world?"
As the roads on both sides became more and more familiar, Xiao Luo stared intently with her big, watery eyes as the heavy gate slowly opened.
In the dimly lit corridor, the guards on both sides opened the door and saw a boy with an indistinct, gloomy face in the dim light, and a little girl beside him who looked similar and stared at them with equally dark, dull eyes.
The guard lowered his head in fear. How terrifying, just like Dazai's subordinates.
Xiao Luo stared intently at the gate, finding it increasingly familiar. She felt like she'd been here before; had she really been here before?
Her mind was filled with questions about whether she had been here before. The little girl's head was full of confusion. The more confused she became, the more focused she became on the gate. The more focused she became, the more afraid the two guards beside the gate became.
Xiao Luo scratched her head, puzzled.
Ignoring the little girl's questions, Dazai Osamu coldly began to plan how to negotiate with Mori Ougai.
The other party should have already received the news and is probably thinking about how to deal with him now.
Inside the room, Mori Ougai was just as Dazai Osamu had thought. He sat upright behind his desk, elbows resting on the table, fingers interlaced. As the door opened, his deep red eyes met Dazai Osamu's dark gaze.
The door closed, and neither Dazai Osamu nor Mori Ōgai spoke first.
They both knew what the other was thinking and were figuring out how to persuade the other.
In the end, the old fox was one step ahead, and he spoke first with a smile, calling out "Dazai Osamu" as if in a sigh, preparing to start a conversation.
"Dazai..."
The words he was about to say, with his eyes lowered, were suddenly interrupted by a child's innocent voice. Mori Ougai was caught off guard when a sentence suddenly popped up beside him.
"Brother, this old baby, haven't I seen him somewhere before?"
Xiao Luo, who had just remembered that she had been here, was not happy for a moment when she suddenly realized that she did not remember the name of the man opposite her.
Hearing that voice, tinged with the marks of time, the child, in a moment of whimsy, blurted out the nickname when asking a question.
Old baby...
Mori Ōgai: Polite smile.jpg
Dazai Osamu couldn't help but laugh out loud the moment he heard the little girl's address.
The boy chuckled unkindly as he clutched his stomach, while Dazai Osamu said with a smug grin, "I'm sorry, boss, Xiaoluo didn't mean it. Children speak without thinking, and you know that children don't lie."
Mori Ōgai: ...
"Alright, Dazai." Mori Ougai took a deep breath, trying to steer the conversation back on track.
But Xiao Luo already knew who he was; the child heard Dazai Osamu call him "leader."
"Uncle!!" In the darkness, the little one charged toward Mori Ougai like a cannon being fired.
Enemy attack! Enemy attack!!
Mori Ougai, who had almost summoned Alice, trembled as he looked at the little girl who had run over excitedly and pounced on his smooth sandalwood table.
The little girl lay on the table, her chubby little arms knocking away the documents he had painstakingly organized. Her chin hit the table, squeezing out her round, chubby cheeks.
The child, like a strange creature, crawled and writhed on the table, its suspended lower body twisting and turning as it approached Mori Ougai.
Mori Ougai subconsciously leaned back off the table, revealing a polite smile: "Little Luo, is there something you need..."
"Uncle Leader, is Yumeno Kyusaku on that suicide note?"
Xiao Luo pounced and landed on the desk, her belly hitting the cold corner, which made her a little uncomfortable.
So the little girl, whose lower body had no support, began a new round of wriggling.
Mori Ougai smiled politely, having no intention of getting close to the cute little girl since it was his first time meeting her.
Even though he used to often lament how wonderful it would be if Dazai Osamu were a girl, looking at the little girl who resembled a female version of Dazai Osamu...
The iris-colored eyes shone darkly in the darkness, and the child's large, round eyes were devoid of any light. The child, wriggling and twisting its body, stared straight at me.
How should I put it? It's neither human nor human.
"A suicide note? What does that mean?"
Mori Ougai realized that he couldn't have a proper talk with Dazai Osamu without dealing with Koro, but Mori Ougai also coveted Koro's abilities. Children are easily swayed by emotions, and in order to obtain this diamond, Mori Ougai was determined not to break ties with Koro.
"Uncle! How can you go back on your word! We had an agreement!"
Hearing the child's familiar voice, Mori Ōgai slowly narrowed his eyes and looked at Dazai Osamu, who was watching the show from the side.
Dazai Osamu smiled slightly at him, and knowing Xiao Luo's nature, he replied with gloating through lip reading: Ask her.
After Xiao Luo appeared, her subordinates immediately sent her a message.
Osamu Dazai's younger sister, a space-type ability user.
But now the answer seems to be more complicated.
Mori Ōgai saw Dazai Osamu's reply and didn't think he couldn't get an answer out of an eight-year-old child.
Was Dazai Osamu showing sincerity or did he have other plans?
To Xiaoluo, the confrontation between Mori Ōgai and Dazai Osamu was just a moment of silence.
The man then continued elegantly, "Does Little Luo like Alice? Do you still want to play with Alice?"
He must know Alice, and if the little girl is truly familiar with him, then she must...
"Who is Alice?" the child asked, his eyes clear, sincere, and unpretentious.
Mori Ougai glanced at Dazai Osamu again, who chuckled inexplicably, then covered his face, his shoulders shaking as he automatically found a sofa to lie down on.
baffling.
Mori Ōgai chose to ignore Dazai Osamu's interference and looked at Koro again. Koro probably didn't recognize him; the child had just called him "Uncle Boss," not "Uncle Mori" or anything related to Rintaro.
So the child's familiar attitude is that the little girl mistook someone for someone else. Xiao Luo knows the leader of an organization, and after hearing others call him the leader, she mistook him for someone else because of how Dazai Osamu addressed her.
Mori Ōgai was certain of this.
