Huo Yan placed a small piece of cloth on the dirty, blood-stained clothes that Su Ruanruan had changed out of.
It fits perfectly with the gap in the sleeve.
"What is this?" Jin Yu stared at the clothes on the table that should have been discarded.
She looked at Huo Yan with great confusion.
"Brother, what does this mean?"
Huo Yan picked up the teacup beside him and took a small sip.
Their gaze shifted from her clothes.
He turned his gaze to Jin Yu, who was waiting for his reply.
"Stretch out your hand."
Reach out your hand?
Jin Yu didn't know what Huo Yan meant, but he still obediently extended a hand.
Huo Yan picked up the piece of cloth and tucked it between Jin Yu's two fingers.
He continued drinking tea, gazing out the window, lost in thought.
Jin Yu has a headache.
I have absolutely no idea what my older brother is thinking.
The hand holding the rag was caught in a dilemma: whether to raise it or put it down.
"What kind of person do you think Su Ruanruan is?" Huo Yan asked leisurely.
Jin Yu: "..."
How should he answer this question? He and she weren't even that close.
Instead, he felt that there seemed to be something between his older brother and Su Ruanruan.
But he couldn't say exactly what it was.
"That's a difficult question for me to answer. But if you ask me what kind of person the old lady who sells plain noodles is, I could give you some answers."
Huo Yan neither confirmed nor denied Jin Yu's answer.
"So, brother, what kind of girl do you think Su Ruanruan is?"
Jin Yu raised an eyebrow and pushed the question back to him.
Huo Yan glared at him, but his mind was a complete fog.
This was the first time he had ever felt so lost.
His gaze shifted and landed on the piece of cloth that had fallen to the ground.
Jin Yu noticed it too, bent down to pick it up, and tried to put it back.
"No."
"What do you mean we don't need it anymore?" Jin Yu asked, puzzled.
"You've already told me the answer." Huo Yan's eyes flickered slightly.
