Chapter 24: Do you miss our daughter?

I straightened my clothes and was about to leave when I was drawn to the commotion in the front yard.

Looking through the crack in the front door, I could see two women wrestling, with a middle-aged woman and an old woman standing nearby.

The old woman would occasionally join in, pinching Su Ruanruan until she screamed in pain.

The middle-aged woman, with her fleshy build, pinned Su Ruanruan to the ground, and several men's fists rained down on her as if they didn't care about the cost.

Huo Yan frowned deeply. This family was truly... bizarre.

In the courtyard, Su Ruanruan initially had the upper hand, but unexpectedly, they lacked martial ethics and bullied her with numbers.

If I had known I would become a member of the military, I would never have learned music, chess, calligraphy, and painting when I was a child. I should have started learning Taekwondo and martial arts much earlier, and I wouldn't be just getting beaten up like I am today.

Su Fangfang clutched her stomach, her face pale, on the verge of collapse from diarrhea.

"You bitch, you ate the same chicken leg, why are you unharmed?"

Su Ruanruan was pinned to the ground and rubbed against the ground. "How was I supposed to know? I was eating perfectly fine. How was I supposed to know you'd get diarrhea?"

"Besides, what makes you think there's something wrong with the chicken leg? Maybe you ate something else unclean. Don't try to frame me!"

"Besides, those were left to me by Brother Dashan. Taking them without asking is the act of thief. You stole my things and now you're trying to extort me!"

Su Fangfang didn't know what was wrong. Apart from chicken legs, she only ate corn porridge and steamed buns last night, but she ate those things often and never had any problems before.

"I don't care, it's definitely related to you. You're the one who ruined me, I don't care, you have to pay me back!"

He looked furious, completely forgetting the book Su Ruanruan had "gifted" him last night.

Su Ruanruan was pinned to the ground by Zheng and Wang and could not break free.

She gritted her teeth in hatred, glaring at Granny Wang, "Grandma, am I really your granddaughter? How could you treat me like this?"

Granny Wang's face darkened for a moment, but she quickly returned to normal.

As an aside: The female protagonist in this story is a healer who is not poison-wielding. Other female protagonists in other stories are skilled in both medicine and poison, but that doesn't mean she is a heroine with this kind of character.

Aside from performing surgeries, she spends her time in the lab researching new drugs and developing vaccines.

The itching powder that appeared later was also something she bought from elsewhere.

This is not a female-centric story (at least not in the early stages), and it doesn't have that many satisfying moments.

If this doesn't suit your taste, please avoid it. (???) I hope you find a book you like, thank you.
