Su Ruanruan nestled on the stool. She had already put her earnings from the past few days into her spatial storage for valuation, leaving only a few copper coins for travel expenses in her pocket. The money she had put into her spatial storage was locked and could never be retrieved.
And this heartless shop assistant actually asked her for five hundred coins. Why doesn't he just rob her?
Su Ruanruan was really angry and ignored the shop assistant.

Wei Zheng patted him on the shoulder, "Not me, but His Majesty."
"His Majesty has always placed high hopes on Lord Bai. Does His Majesty still remember which year you were the third-ranked scholar? Sending you to a post outside the capital is only to hone your skills. Once this task is completed, Lord Bai's good days will begin."
Bai Bai was extremely shocked and even choked up. He thought he was going to die here, but he never expected that the current emperor would still remember him. All his hard work over the years had not been in vain.

He had a real headache with this daughter. Because she had no mother to discipline her since she was a child, she had become increasingly unruly in recent years and had no sense of propriety as a girl.
Baiyun faced her father's scolding as if it were commonplace, without a trace of guilt, but instead wore a mysterious smile.
"Father, I heard some shocking news today, but it's a blessing in disguise for me. However, you might not be able to laugh when you find out."
These words made Bai Bai frown. "What's all this mystery about?"
Bai Yun took a few steps closer and whispered, "Today, Brother Mu Bai and Officer Huo almost got into a fight at the wonton shop because of Su Ruanruan."
"What?" Bai Bai was extremely shocked. In his eyes, Mu Bai was just a weak scholar. How could he be a match for Huo Yan, that big guy?
He immediately sensed something was wrong and looked over with a probing gaze.
Bai Yun, without blushing or skipping a beat, continued, "Su Ruanruan is really capable. Even Huo Yan, that fierce god who can stop a child from crying, has become her devoted follower. Alas, I can't even handle a single toe of Brother Mu Bai."
Bai Bai knew his daughter's temperament; she was not one to sit and watch the show. Given her current disheveled appearance, he immediately tried to subtly hint at her behavior.
Sure enough, they managed to trick Baiyun into revealing that he had committed a crime at the wonton shop while wielding a whip.
"You rebellious daughter, you won't be satisfied until you drive me crazy!"
Baiyun is straightforward and outspoken. When she realized that she had blurted out things she shouldn't have, she really wanted to slap herself.
But it was too late. Her father had already summoned servants to confine her in her courtyard, forbidding her from leaving anywhere.

Su Ruanruan glanced at the shop assistant and sneered, "Is my body that captivating to you? You've been staring at me for almost half an hour, haven't you?"
The shop assistant wasn't annoyed that his thoughts had been exposed. He said, "You're probably only worth anything with your skin. If you had any money on you, you wouldn't be sitting here being stared at by me."
"Don't you know why I'm sitting here? I'm just a day laborer at the tofu shop. You won't let me leave this door to go to the tofu shop and borrow some money from my boss, so I can only sit here and stare at you like this?"
Su Ruanruan gazed out the window and saw that the group of people in the teahouse across the street had not left yet, especially Huo Yan, whose sharp eyes kept drifting over to her.
She immediately curled up on the stool again, staring at the shop assistant while raising her arm and giving Huo Yan the middle finger.
"Brother, what does Su Ruanruan mean by sticking out her middle finger?" Niu Mang didn't understand, so he immediately imitated Su Ruanruan and stuck out his middle finger as well.
Huo Yan picked up his teacup, took a sip, and raised an eyebrow, saying, "What else could it mean? She definitely doesn't have any money on her and just wants to borrow a tael of silver from me."
He had given her fifty taels of silver back then, but she returned it to him. Now she knows that being aloof won't put food on the table!
Su Ruanruan felt like she was going to vomit from those two gazes.
One gaze swept over her wantonly, while the other's head practically screamed "Beg me."
Just as she was drifting off to sleep, a servant ran in. Finding that the owner was not there and there was only a shop assistant, he handed the waiter one tael of silver.
