Chapter 122: Pretending to be unconscious?

Zheng's eyes were bloodshot with rage. "Su Zheng, you actually hit me! You actually hit me for this woman!"

The situation was about to spiral out of control again. Ziwu, annoyed by Zheng's incessant chatter, coldly said, "Shut up! I don't care if you want to kill him or slaughter him, that's something for after I leave. Now! Tell me, who's going to return my money?"

Zi Wu was just a young girl, and she wasn't that scary when she got angry.

Su Zheng craned his neck, "We didn't ask you to save her. What does it have to do with you whether she lives or dies? Now that the money has gone down the drain, you're blaming us."

Ziwu laughed. Her master had said this family were scoundrels from the streets, and it was indeed true.

No wonder her master wanted her to bring more people with her.

She squinted and peered through the open door, spotting a person peeking out with half their face sticking out furtively.

"Trying to cheat me, huh? Then don't blame me for being impolite."

Ziwu snapped her fingers, and three more men dressed in black got off the carriage.

Together with the two standing beside her, they formed her left and right protectors, instantly boosting her combat power.

"Bring her out!" Ziwu pointed inside through the door.

Upon receiving the order, the group entered the house in single file, carrying sticks, which frightened Su Fangfang inside, causing her to scream repeatedly.

Everything happened too fast. By the time the Su family reacted, those men had already broken into the house and dragged Su Fangfang out.

"You can't do this! Release Fangfang now, or I'll fight you to the death!"

Zheng tried her best to pull, but no matter how strong she was, she couldn't overcome the enemy's superior numbers.

Su Fangfang was about to cry. She should have stayed inside and not come out. Why did she have to join in the fun?

She was almost able to become sisters-in-law with the county magistrate's daughter, but before Zhou the butcher could marry her, he was murdered.

He took her body, and now that his body is barely cold, she doesn't even have the chance to see Butcher Zhou one last time.

She is now disabled; what will she do in the future?

She wanted to cry, she really wanted to cry.

Granny Wang was also anxious. She was the second wife of the old master of the Su family. Su Zheng was her own son, and Su Fangfang was her own granddaughter. How could she push her into a pit of fire?

"You...you forcibly abducted a woman; I can report this to the authorities."

Ziwu casually picked at her ear, "I wrote it all down clearly in black and white. Su Ruanruan owes me money, and you are her family, so it's only right that you pay it back for her!"

"Even if the county magistrate came, he wouldn't have anything to say after seeing the IOU in my hand..."

At that moment, Qin Bei, who was working in the field, also received the news and rushed over in a hurry. He was out of breath and glanced at the crowd. "Has something happened to Ruan Ruan?"

Granny Wang spat, "Pah, she's a wicked woman."

Su Fangfang cried out in tears, "Brother Qin Bei, save me!"

Qin Bei glanced at her coldly, then his gaze finally settled on Zi Wu. "They said Ruan Ruan is in trouble. Is that true?"

Zi Wu gave a faint "hmm".

At this moment, Gu Ji also rushed back, his eyes red, and stopped in front of Granny Wang.

To make it more realistic, he actually knelt down.

Everyone gasped in surprise, wondering what was going on.

"Aunt Wang, please save Ruan Ruan! I know she's injured. I went to town to see her early this morning, only to find out she's been imprisoned. Those people won't let me in to see her."

"The officials say she's probably in grave danger this time. Ruanruan is your granddaughter, please, I beg you, think of something."

Granny Wang: "Is it really that serious? You're not lying to me, are you?"

"How could I lie to you? You know I like Ruan Ruan, how could I possibly use Ruan Ruan's reputation as a pretext? If you don't believe me, go to the county town yourself!"

Qin Bei stared blankly at Gu Ji, who was kneeling in front of Granny Wang, tears streaming down his face.

He murmured, "It's true... Gu Ji wouldn't curse Ruan Ruan, Ruan Ruan is really in trouble."

The next moment, Gu Ji heard a muffled thud behind him. He turned around and found Qin Bei lying on the ground.

Gu Ji: "!!"

Good grief, Qin Bei is even more outrageous than him, he just pretended to faint?

"Hey, what's wrong with this kid?"

"Is he alright?"

The villagers chattered amongst themselves, and people gathered around.

"Don't kneel anymore, kid. Hurry up and take a look at him."

Gu Ji was pulled up and stepped forward to check Qin Bei's breathing.

This guy wasn't faking it; he was genuinely dizzy.

"It's nothing. He was just exhausted from working in the fields, and then he got upset when he heard about Ruan Ruan. He'll be fine after he goes back and rests."

"Aunt Wang, please scrape together some money and go to the city to try and see Ruan Ruan," Gu Ji called out anxiously.

"Let's go, let's go. You really won't give up until you're completely hopeless. Su Ruanruan is already in that state. Murder is a serious matter. No matter how many methods we try, it won't help. You should come with us to have Qin Bei take a look!"

Several strong men of similar age carried Gu Ji away and took him to see Qin Bei for treatment.

The bustling entrance fell silent again, leaving only Su Fangfang sobbing softly.

Zi Wu said, "My patience is limited. Don't blame me for not warning you, Su Ruanruan is a problem now. Once she is identified as the murderer of Butcher Zhou, your Su family will be finished."

Ziwu pinched Su Fangfang's chin and said, "Although this girl is not particularly good-looking, she is more than capable of staying in the brothel. It's much better than her becoming an old maid because someone in her family has ruined her reputation."

"No, Mother, save me!"

At that moment, a little boy rushed out from the crowd, limping towards the purple mist.

He was dressed in a clean gray cloth robe, his fair face brimming with tears, and he looked up at the purple mist.
