Chapter 15
After the joke, Draken seemed to remember something from today and asked, "By the way, Yuuko, why did you run away when you saw us at school today?"
Yuko then remembered what happened at school that day, but she didn't know that Hinata Tachibana and Takedo Hanagaki were a couple. Therefore, her understanding was that Takedo liked Hinata Tachibana, but Hinata Tachibana and Mikey were a couple…
Yuko was shocked. What kind of chaotic scene was this?!
"What's with that expression?" Mikey was provoked by her shocked yet pitying expression. He thought Yuko was pitying him for getting beaten up, since being slapped by a woman wasn't a glorious thing, and the thought made him a little unhappy.
Yuko, at least stay a little longer and hear him say "I don't hit women"! I didn't see his handsome side, but I did get to see him make a complete fool of himself.
He stared straight at her with his big, dark eyes.
Yuko, who was being watched, quietly moved behind Emma, revealing half of her face and mustering her courage to shout, "No, you have to care about other people's expressions too? Are you a tyrant?"
Very well, the obedient girl has actually started talking back. Mikey, who was being compared to a tyrant, looked gloomy and said, "I didn't hear you clearly, say it again."
Yuko let out a soft whimper and hid behind Emma. Draken spoke up at the right moment: "Mikey, don't scare Yuko. She's already scared."
"My fault? She spoke rudely to me?" Mikey didn't think he had done anything wrong, but seeing Yuko hiding, he suddenly realized that Yuko seemed to be afraid of him, even though he hadn't done anything.
"Mikey, why do you always bully Xiaoyou?" Emma chimed in to help.
"How can you say that too?" Mikey said with a displeased expression.
He wondered to himself, "Did I? Did I bully her?"
Yuko, on the other hand, found Sano Manjiro to be unpredictable, switching between good and bad moods, and quite difficult to understand. She wasn't in the mood to guess what he was thinking, so she tugged at Emma's clothes and said, "I should go home."
"Are we going back?"
"Yes, I've bothered you for a long time."
"Little Yuko, you're going back now. Be careful on your way," Draken said goodbye to her.
The three of them interacted, leaving Mikey sulking on the sidelines until Yuko got into the car and left. Mikey angrily said to Emma and Draken, "Aren't you guys being too biased? I'm clearly closer to you guys."
Here comes the childlike Mikey.
Draken said in a conciliatory tone, "In that case, how about I scold her in front of you next time?"
Upon hearing this, Mikey gave him a look that said, "Kenjai, are you out of your mind?"
Draken's reverse strategy was a huge success: "You know it won't work. But Mikey, you wouldn't happen to like Yuko, would you?"
"Huh?" Mikey reacted as if someone had stepped on a sore spot, then realized he had overreacted and lowered his voice: "How could I possibly like that guy!"
Having successfully diverted Mikey's attention, Draken picked at his ear: "No, no, I was just saying it offhand. Why are you reacting so strongly? Oh my, what's for dinner?"
“Oh, let’s have omelet rice,” Emma said to Draken as they walked.
They always selectively ignore Mikey's unreasonable behavior, figuring he'll forget about it later if they leave him alone.
On the other hand, after saying goodbye to Emma, Yuko didn't rest at home; she even thought about things while eating and taking a shower.
She actually had many questions in her mind. She wanted to capture all the details as much as possible, investigate them one by one, summarize the doubts, and discuss them with Wu Dao.
She first recalled the electrical sound that only she could hear.
There were three times in total.
The first time was a year ago when she called her brother to ask him to come pick her up.
The second time was the first encounter with the venue and Yi Hu.
The third time was when she met Wu Dao.
She believed the electrical sound wasn't random, but rather a signal. However, she had no idea what it meant; perhaps she'd discover something after talking with her martial arts classmates tomorrow.
Secondly, Hinata Tachibana died twelve years later after being involved in a riot by the criminal organization Touman.
Is this Dongwan the Dongwan she knows?
What about the meteor shower twelve years from now?
With these questions in mind, Yuko didn't sleep well that night.
The next day finally arrived, and Yuko, suppressing her restlessness, finally got to lunch break. She took her lunchbox to the next class to find Hanagaki Takedo, but then she encountered something strange.
Hanagaki Takedo looked at her with surprise, as if he didn't recognize her: "Takiya-kun, you were looking for me?"
"Have you forgotten? We made a promise yesterday," Yuko kindly reminded him.
"Huh? A promise? Did we meet yesterday?" Wu Dao seemed to have amnesia.
Yuko was furious with him; she hated people who broke their promises more than anything. They had agreed on it yesterday, and she hadn't even slept well because of their conversation today! And this was the attitude Wudao had shown!
Yuko angrily grabbed her lunchbox and left, leaving Mudo completely bewildered.
Back in the classroom, Yuko ate her meal in anger, chewing furiously, but as she thought about it, she realized something was wrong.
Could it be that Wu Dao has gone back to the future? The more she thought about it, the more likely it seemed, otherwise she wouldn't have forgotten about what happened yesterday so quickly today.
Yuko's guess was correct. Yesterday, by a twist of fate, Hanagaki Takedo shook hands with Naoto at the Tachibana Hyuga family's house, which caused him to return to the future.
He yelled in frustration as soon as he woke up, realizing that the wonderful atmosphere had been ruined by his handshake with Naoto, which had sent him back to the future.
"You've regained consciousness, Buduo-kun!" Naoto looked at him with concern. "It seems my hypothesis was correct; the trigger for the time travel was the handshake."
Wu Dao stared at him with a dark expression.
The two then discussed some details of Budo's time travel, but it was actually Naoto who was explaining it all. When Naoto asked Budo how the mission to prevent Sano and Kisaki from meeting was going, Budo, who had already met and accepted Mikey, started arguing with Naoto.
“Mikey is a trustworthy person. I want to hear Mikey’s true intentions regarding Dongwan’s change. I want to confirm this before going back to the past! Please help me find Mikey, Naoto!” Martial Arts’ resolute words made Naoto waver, but even as a police officer, he couldn’t contact Mikey. The registered phone number and address were all fake.
Wudao checked his phone's contacts, trying to call Mikey's old number, but the call wouldn't go through. Then he saw another phone number in his contacts: Takiya Yuko.
Oh, right, Takiya-kun!
“Naoto! There’s something else I need to tell you. I met a girl named Yuko Takiya in the past, and she said she dreamed about my time travel a year ago…” Takedo briefly explained the situation to Naoto.
He decided to call Yuko to see what would happen.
After dialing, the prompt tone told him that the number was not in service.
Wudao asked himself in confusion, "Did Takiya-kun change his phone number?"
"Budo-kun, take a look at this." Naoto used his computer to search for information about Takiya Yuko while Budo was on the phone. "You mean Takiya Yuko, the daughter of Takiya Hideo of the Meteor Society who was replaced by Touman two years ago?"
The webpage displayed Takiya Yuko's personal profile, and her ID photo showed her looking like she did in junior high school. Takedo was surprised to learn that Takiya's family background involved a criminal organization, followed by a sentence that caught his eye.
He died at the age of fifteen; the cause of death was suicide.
Wu Daozhen remained rooted to the spot.
"I remember that the Meteor Society was replaced by Dongwan two years ago. The chairman, Takiya Hideo, was shot, his eldest son, Takiya Genji, went to jail, and his youngest daughter, Takiya Yuko, fell to her death from a hotel. However, she was supposed to be 26 years old when she died, but now the time of her death has been shortened, and the cause of death has changed." The gang war at the time was very sensational, and Naoto happened to be interning that year and participated in cleaning up the mess.
Takiya-kun will die!
Wudao anxiously asked Naoto, "Can you find out why she committed suicide?"
"Let me see. Her medical records show that she was taking antidepressants for a period of time, which may be due to depression? But I can't find the specifics."
If he didn't know, that would be one thing, but now that he knows Takiya-san will commit suicide in the future, he has an obligation to tell her and help her as much as possible. Takedo thought silently to himself.
The two then continued their search for a way to contact Mikey. After learning that Atun had become a member of Dongwan's organization, they went to Wudao's house to look for Atun's contact information.
Wu Dao met Atun, but the long time that had passed was enough to change a person. Atun painfully confessed that he was now a lackey of Xixi, and that Mikey had changed after Draken's death. After saying all this, Atun jumped off a high building and chose to end his life.
The pain of his martial arts collapsing made him vow to save everyone, including Hyuga, Atsushi, Draken, and Takiya!
