End of Day Two

End of Day Two

Keisuke and Nono Asanuma heard the commotion from Noboru Yoshikawa and Kyoko Uehara. They themselves found it difficult to explain why the two of them were there.

Because of Onizuka's co-ed living arrangement, Yoshikawa was forced to live with Kyoko's trio. Putting a former bully and the bullied together was like throwing a lamb into a wolf's den. Furthermore, Onizuka and Yoshikawa had given them a severe fright the previous night, which amplified Kyoko's resentment towards Yoshikawa. Upon learning they were going to a deserted island, Kyoko resolved to make Yoshikawa disappear there.

However, the three girls were not particularly clever. They planned to take people to the island and abandon them, but they got lost. They stumbled upon the edge of a cliff, and Kyoko was swept away by a wave that crashed onto the shore. Yoshikawa jumped off without thinking.

Yoshikawa, who was originally timid and cowardly and had attempted suicide several times but failed, was able to be so brave this time because he awakened with Onizuka's help, realized that he was a man, and that his kindness could not prevent him from standing by and watching his classmate die, even though Kyoko had bullied him before.

This is not about being a pushover, but rather about upholding the most basic moral principles of being human.

In conclusion, neither Yoshikawa nor Kyoko had any interest in sharing their private matters with others, and therefore they were also reluctant to tell the venue and Nono the reason for their misfortune.

Nono and the field weren't the type to pry, nor did they care about the relationship between the two. It was just that the willful and capricious Kyoko and the seemingly indecisive Yoshikawa, who was only taking a beating, didn't seem like the type to help. But then they thought, four people are better than two; even three heads are better than one.

On the ground, people were also searching for their tracks.

Time passed second by second. Mikey Yuko, Draken, and Emma formed a group of four, with the two girls walking behind. Emma held Yuko's hand tightly, seemingly understanding her thoughts, and repeatedly told Yuko that Nono and the venue would definitely be fine.

Just as Emma had guessed, Yuko was consumed by deep self-reproach. She was regretting not listening to everyone's advice and not participating in the treasure hunt, or even if she hadn't suggested coming to Okinawa…

With a "snap".

Yuko stared blankly at Emma, who was forcefully slapping her cheeks with both hands.

Draken, who was standing nearby, was somewhat startled by Emma's inexplicable behavior.

“Yuko, cheer up.” Emma looked directly into Yuko’s eyes. “Now is not the time to be down.”

Yuko was also a little startled by Emma. A tingling, painful sensation came from her cheek, and she nodded blankly to indicate that she understood. Emma's patting did have an effect. After being stimulated like this, Yuko realized that she shouldn't let her bad mood defeat her; Nono and the field were still waiting for them.

Meanwhile, the other two who were inseparable from Kyoko encountered Onizuka and the others. Upon seeing them, they burst into tears and recounted how Kyoko and Yoshikawa had disappeared.

Unexpectedly, Onizuka suddenly went mad after hearing this, and charged forward with Kanzaki Reimi on his back, shouting incomprehensible things like, "Don't think I don't know, these guys must have found a treasure cave and want to keep it all for themselves!"

Running wildly on the deserted island, his fate was predictable. Onizuka Eikichi and Kanzaki Reimi fell into the valley together, and the screams of the genius girl Kanzaki Reimi echoed in the sky above the island.

Whether it was the double blessing of the gods of misfortune and fortune, Onizuka Eikichi always managed to escape danger unscathed. He could remain conscious even after being hit on the head with an iron rod, and after falling from the rooftop, he only suffered a broken arm, making one marvel at his incredible vitality. This time was no exception; the two of them fell into the valley unharmed. Onizuka sniffed the air with a serious expression: "I smell it, the scent of treasure."

"Stop joking around, get back here right now!" Kanzaki Remi snapped.

Onizuka didn't hear her at all, he just kept heading in the direction he wanted to go. Kanzaki Reimi had no choice but to follow behind him. She watched as he sniffed around at the pile of dirt and rubble, saying, "This rock is very suspicious. The treasure must be behind it!"

"I think you're the suspicious one!" Kanzaki Reimi thought to herself, "After leaving here, I must take Onizuka to the hospital to check if he has any serious illness."

Onizuka's second dan in karate wasn't for nothing. He imitated Bruce Lee, and with a back kick accompanied by Ada's strange cry, he broke through the earthen wall with one kick, and actually stumbled upon a hidden space inside.

The four missing people were here, and they were startled by the sudden commotion from Onizuka.

They nearly drowned in the underground cave due to the tides, but thankfully Yoshikawa Noboru, with his keen observation and composure, found a way out, which required holding their breath and diving. Fortunately, all four of them could swim. Kyoko initially lacked confidence, but Yoshikawa encouraged and gave her courage. Apart from Kyoko being startled by a sea snake and choking on water during the dive, they escaped unharmed.

They looked around and found that the cave seemed to be an abandoned church, which also proved that they had reached the ground. Just as they were about to find an exit, Onizuka broke through the wall and entered, which could be considered as a coincidence that saved them.

"Teacher!" Yoshikawa exclaimed with delight upon seeing Onizuka.

Onizuka didn't have time to greet him. He was convinced that this was the treasure cave. He shouted that he had found treasure at the dilapidated candlesticks and rummaged through them. In the end, he found an old cannonball, which was probably forgotten here and not dealt with back then.

The four who had just escaped danger, along with Kanzaki Reimi who had been inexplicably dragged into danger by Onizuka, all retreated upon seeing the cannonball in Onizuka's hand.

"Don't come any closer!" Kanzaki Reimi and Uehara Kyoko yelled at Onizuka.

"What should I do? What should I do?" Onizuka seemed to only just come to his senses, realizing that he was holding a deadly weapon.

"Wait here for a moment, we'll call someone to come and rescue you right away." Even Kanzaki Reimi, who had never shown any fear before, had a moment of stuttering.

The others nodded frantically in agreement with Kanzaki Reimi, and then they all took off running. Kanzaki Reimi was afraid that Onizuka would follow, so she ran back and shouted, "Don't follow us! Wait for us!"

"Hey! Hey!" Onizuka took a step forward, but the uneven stones under his feet caused him to lose his balance, and the cannonball in his hand fell to the ground.

Just as Kanzaki Reimi and the others had run far away, they heard a loud bang followed by a bright light. The bomb that had been buried here for many years had been brought to light again.

The group of people who had just witnessed the explosion were stunned and didn't know what to do.

"Teacher..."

"teacher!!!"

In this situation, everyone present knew that a normal person could not possibly survive. Even knowing this, they couldn't just stand there dumbfounded. They rushed back to the explosion site, calling out Onizuka's name amidst the dust and fumes. Even the field and Nono were helping to search.

"I almost thought I was really going to die." As Onizuka pried open the rocks, revealing his head and shoulders, he looked embarrassed and seemed a little scared. It turned out he had escaped by hiding in a hole in the ground; otherwise, even if he had taken a bomb head-on, he would have been dead.

However, the noise from the bomb attracted people from the surrounding area, and Onizuka's students and Touman's group gradually rushed over.

Seeing that Nono and the field were a bit disheveled but their arms and legs were intact and they didn't seem to be injured, Yuko felt relieved. She rushed over and hugged Nono, expressing her worries: "Waaaaah, I was so scared! You have no idea how worried I was..."

"I'm sorry for making everyone worry." Nono hugged her back to comfort her.

The boy was telling his companions about his experiences along the way. Although he was a little scared, he was brave and still found it exciting to think about it now.

Soon after, the rescue boat arrived at the island, and everyone boarded and returned to the hotel. After a long day, everyone was exhausted, and even the most enthusiastic young people just wanted to lie down and rest.

In the evening, Onizuka's colleague, Fuyutsuki Azusa, dragged him along with gifts to apologize to Yuko and the others, because his reckless actions had put minors in danger. Onizuka secretly slipped away halfway there, leaving Fuyutsuki to come alone.

The venue generously stated that although there was a danger, no one was injured, so there was nothing to blame.

"Is that teacher really a teacher? I've never seen anyone act so recklessly," Nono couldn't help but say.

Fuyutsuki gave an awkward smile: "Onizuka-sensei is indeed a teacher at our school. Although he often does things that are hard to understand, he is actually a very good teacher. In the past, this class was basically abandoned by the teachers at school, and even I..." As if recalling an unpleasant experience, Fuyutsuki's voice grew softer and softer, but she quickly recovered and continued, "If it weren't for Onizuka-sensei, these students might have gone astray in the future. Not giving up on any student is what I admire most about him."

After Fuyuki left, the venue seemed lost in thought. He sighed, "If there were teachers like that in schools, the schools would probably become more interesting."

The mundane school life, with its repetitive and monotonous days, feels like being in prison for teenagers who are full of curiosity and energy. Perhaps it is precisely because of this lack of stimulation that they seek fun outside of school.
