Hero saves the beauty
"Is it even a man's job to bully a woman? You two scumbags!"
The person who intervened was a black-haired boy who looked about the same age as Yuko. Next to him was another boy with a beauty mark at the corner of his eye and a tattoo on the side of his neck, wearing a special attack uniform that represented his biker gang identity.
The two teenagers were extremely reckless, beating the thugs to a pulp. Each of them took responsibility for one of the thugs and beat them beyond recognition.
After the two thugs staggered away in a panic, the black-haired boy who had intervened came over to her and asked, "Are you alright...?"
His pause was because he was startled by Yuko.
She was fair-skinned, slender, and delicate, with a charming and captivating appearance, like a beautiful girl straight out of a manga.
The pretty girl spoke up: "Thank you so much. I haven't had a chance to ask your names yet."
The boy snapped out of his daze, feeling a little embarrassed but still stubborn: "No need for a name or anything, you should go home now."
Yuko insisted on telling him, "It is the most basic courtesy for the person being rescued to remember the name of their benefactor."
"His name is 'City,' but I only know what the name means. Let's just exchange contact information."
The tattooed boy nudged the boy named Changdi with his elbow and whispered to him, "There's potential, Changdi. Maybe you can find a girlfriend here!"
"Yi-Yi-Hu, what are you saying?!" Chu Zhan's face turned as red as fire.
"City-kun and Kazutora-kun?" Yuko gleaned their approximate titles from their conversation.
It sounds so familiar, like I've heard it somewhere before.
But Yuko couldn't remember where she had heard it before, so she assumed it was just her imagination.
Yuko didn't mind the idea of exchanging contact information; she even decided in her heart that she would definitely repay the two of them if she had the chance in the future.
To repay kindness is a virtue!
After saving the venue number, Yuko looked at Kazutaka.
"Huh? You want mine too?" Yu Gong Yi Hu was slightly surprised, but then readily gave out the number.
Yuko bowed gratefully and said, "Thank you again for your help."
Yuko was about to say something when she was interrupted by an angry shout.
"You two stay away from my sister!" It turned out that Genji, who had been away from his sister for a long time, had come out to look for her.
He saw people dressed in biker gang special attack uniforms in the distance. Yuko was even bowing to them, probably asking her younger sister to do something strange. Genji was followed by Shinichiro Sano and Ryuji Danma, the three of them walking towards him menacingly.
"Is Yuko alright?" Genji shielded his sister behind him, scrutinizing the two brats with his gaze. "Did these two kids bother you?"
“No.” Yuko pushed her impulsive brother aside. “These two helped me drive away the bad guys, they’re good people.”
"I see?" Genji breathed a sigh of relief, then said apologetically, "Sorry, thank you."
The wronged venue scoffed, while Yi Hu shrugged helplessly.
"Hmm? You look familiar. Are you Keisuke?" Shinichiro Sano, who was standing nearby, recognized one of them.
“You are…” Keisuke Jichang looked at Shinichiro Sano, who also recognized him, and immediately asked in polite language, “Shinichiro? What are you doing here?”
Ichiro didn't recognize Shinichiro and asked who he was.
“He’s Mikey’s older brother.” Keisuke Baji looked quite pleased. He and Shinichiro’s younger brother, Manjiro Sano, known as the invincible Mikey, were childhood friends. When they were young, Baji and the two brothers, Shinichiro and Manjiro, learned karate at their grandfather’s dojo.
"Eh—" Yi Hu was also somewhat surprised.
"Don't stand here and talk. My shop is nearby. You two should come along too," Shinichiro said to them.
During their conversation, Yuko heard the strange electrical sound again, which made her take notice of this eerie phenomenon. She whispered to Genji, "Brother, can you hear the electrical sound?"
"What's that electrical noise?" Genji heard nothing.
Didn't you hear me? Yuko was puzzled, but she couldn't figure out what was going on, so she could only suppress her doubts.
When the group arrived at Shinichiro's car dealership, both the venue and Ichigo were surprised, especially Ichigo: "Is this Mikey-nii's shop?!"
"Yeah, pretty impressive, right?" Shinichiro said with a hint of pride.
"Honda—c□□0T!" The person in the crowd saw the most eye-catching car displayed in the store and thought to themselves, "Wow, so cool!" But then, in a flash, it dawned on them—wasn't this the store they'd come to scout out with Yihu?!
It turns out that Ichigo, Jichang, and four others formed a biker gang called Dongwan. To celebrate Mikey's birthday, Ichigo and Jichang suggested getting Mikey a cool motorcycle, but the junior high school kids didn't have the money to buy one, so they had to steal it.
Shinichiro, unaware of the details, laughed and said, "This is the birthday present I plan to give to Manjiro. His Takamaru broke, didn't it? Speaking of which, it's really lame for a biker gang to ride a scooter. It's a wonder he can even ride it."
The two exchanged glances, and both saw guilt and embarrassment in each other's eyes; their backs were almost soaked with sweat.
At this moment, Yuko, a bystander, glanced at her watch. It was almost nine o'clock. She tugged at Genji's sleeve to remind him, "Brother, it's almost nine o'clock."
Genji naturally knew his younger sister's unwavering schedule, so he said, "Sorry, the TV show my sister wants to watch is about to start airing, so we'll head back first."
Everyone: ...
Genji drove his sister home at breakneck speed, determined to arrive before the broadcast started. In no time, they couldn't even see the taillights anymore.
Then, Ryuji Danma also suggested going back to the hotel.
Shinichiro and the others watched him leave, and then prepared to close up shop. However, the venue and Kazutaka seemed a little hesitant. Shinichiro sensed that they had something to say, so he led them to a room in the back.
"sorry!"
"sorry!"
Both of them bowed their heads and apologized.
Shinichiro, who was being apologized to, was confused about what they were up to.
In the end, it was the venue that spoke up and explained the whole story.
"Damn it!" Although Shinichiro had retired and taken up a respectable profession, his past misdeeds remained. The Chief of Staff's imposing manner was no joke, and he was genuinely angry.
The two, having been scolded, dared not retaliate and instead apologized.
"Do you think Manjiro will be happy if you give him stolen goods? If you're a man, you should be upright! Not do such despicable things!"
Changdi and Yihu gritted their teeth, their hearts filled with shame and sadness.
After scolding them, Shinichiro's anger gradually subsided upon seeing their state; his anger was more out of disappointment than anything else. Besides, the two children weren't inherently bad; otherwise, they wouldn't have helped Genji's sister.
He reached out with both hands, one on each head, and patted their heads, saying, "Keisuke, Kazutaka, there's no going back in life if you regret it. Don't do things you'll regret."
Keisuke's eyes were red, and Kazutora Hagiya wasn't much better off. In truth, Hagiya was the mastermind behind it all; he'd only come to be with him because he was worried about him. Hearing Shinichiro's words, the two could no longer hold back and burst into tears. After all, they were still just 13-year-old boys, passionate yet naive, clumsy and immature.
Meanwhile, Yuko caught up with the airing of the TV series. Genji still didn't stay overnight at home. He dropped her off and then ran away. Yuko couldn't do anything about her brother.
Yuko, wearing her pajamas after a shower, sat in the living room watching TV. A drama starring Takuya Kimura was playing. Although he played a chef in the show, Kimura was just too hot. And the female lead in the drama shared the same name as Yuko, so it was practically like she was dating Takuya Kimura.
Yuko Takiya is completely satisfied.
About ten minutes later, Yuko's father, Hideo Takiya, also sat down in the living room. It wasn't that the family couldn't afford a second television, but Yuko's father simply wouldn't allow it.
Yuko gave up her seat for her father. Unlike Yuko, who was completely absorbed in watching TV, Takiya Hideo wasn't interested in the drama's content. He only noticed Yuko's occasional silly grin, especially when the male lead appeared.
"Yuko likes this actor? How about inviting him to your birthday celebration this year?" Takiya Hideo usually doesn't speak, but when he does, it's an explosive statement.
Yuko was shocked!
He then shook his head and said, "Goldfish are only goldfish in a fish tank. If you put them back in the river, they'll be just like any other fish."
Upon hearing this, Takiya Hideo gave a strange look: "Is that a line from a movie?"
Yuko blushed with embarrassment when she was discovered.
After all, she's a middle school girl, so it's natural that she has some chuunibyou (middle school syndrome) tendencies.
Looking at his daughter, whose thoughts were written all over her face, Takiya Hideo couldn't help but feel a little emotional.
The woman who gave birth to Yuko was a pretty but brainless bar hostess who had been Takiya Hideo's mistress for a time. After giving birth to Yuko, she ran away from the hospital with the money and has not been seen since.
Takiya Hideo didn't care where the woman had gone; he couldn't even remember her name.
His eldest son, Genji, was born when he was young and impetuous. At that time, he was not ready to be a father, so Genji basically never received a kind word from him during his upbringing, and he missed out on a lot.
Yuko, however, was different. She was born in a good era, a stable and prosperous society. She was tiny and soft at birth, following behind him as she babbled and called him "Papa." When she fell down, she didn't cry but instead stood up with a silly smile. She was innocent and kind.
He has always been dedicated to protecting his daughter's innocence, shielding her from the wind and rain and preventing her from seeing even a sliver of darkness.
His son, Genji, showed little interest in taking over the business, and he wasn't insistent on it. He had even given Genji a push to leave home and become independent. He planned to retire someday, and his daughter, Yuko, would focus on her studies, go to university, get a job, and eventually get married... but marriage would have to wait. In short, the family would return to a normal life.
