Island disaster
The undeveloped, deserted island was overgrown with weeds. Onizuka led a few of the braver boys ahead, clearing the way with shovels to remove thorns and overgrown bushes, while the rest followed behind.
From the very beginning, everyone's complaints never stopped, but they were no match for the indifference of the rogue teacher, Onizuka.
Dongwan and his group followed the main group listlessly. Emma tripped over a tree root that had protruded from the ground, and Yuko caught her in time. Emma noticed that Yuko seemed quite familiar with the wild forest, or perhaps more accurately, she couldn't help but ask, "Yuko, you seem to be quite comfortable here."
Yuko thought for a moment after hearing this and replied, "I lived at my grandfather's house for a period of time when I was a child."
The Takiya family weren't native Tokyoites; their ancestral home was in Iwaizumi Town, a remote town in Iwate Prefecture, where matsutake mushrooms were abundant, and the family were farmers who made their living off the land. Yuko looked around and cautioned, "Everyone, watch your step. Over the years, others have likely dug here as well; the holes are probably covered by old branches and rotten leaves and aren't easy to see..."
"You really believe there's treasure here?" Nono interrupted Yuko nonchalantly, but as soon as she finished speaking, she felt something was wrong under her feet, as if she had stepped into a cake, and the ground began to collapse outwards from her left foot.
The three girls were standing side by side, with Yuko in the middle. As the cracks in the ground spread to her feet, she immediately let go of Emma's hand and pushed her away. At the same time, a hand grabbed Yuko. Yuko's right hand was being held by Mikey, and her body was suspended in mid-air. Looking down, all she could see was a dark abyss. Everything happened so fast that she didn't even see Nono fall.
A figure leaped into the cave. Of the crowd retreating to avoid danger, only Tiger reacted and shouted, "The arena!!!"
Yuko was stunned by the series of changes. Mikey pulled her to the ground, and Yuko, who had been sitting slumped over, seemed to come to her senses and quickly crawled towards the cave entrance.
"Don't go any further, it's dangerous here." Mikey held her shoulders firmly, not allowing her to take another step. As if to prove his point, the opening of the cave seemed to be widening and sinking further. Moreover, the cave, which had been dry just moments before, was now overflowing as if it were filled with water.
Yuko struggled: "But!"
"No buts, with the venue there, he's not the kind of man who'll just die easily." Mikey was also worried, but out of trust in his companion, he believed that both the venue and Ye Ye would be alright.
The sudden turn of events attracted the crowd ahead. The timid students were already crying, while others were complaining about how Onizuka had brought them here and how he would take responsibility now that someone had died.
"Let's call the police," someone suggested.
"The police will not accept a case if someone has been missing for less than 24 hours," Kanzaki Reimi casually poured cold water on everyone's hopes.
"Teacher, Yoshikawa and Uehara are missing." Another piece of bad news came: Yoshikawa Noboru and the three girls who had bullied him, Uehara Kyoko, had all disappeared.
The number of missing persons has increased from two to six, and this is no longer a time for fooling around. Ironically, Onizuka Eikichi, the only adult among them, is not someone they can rely on. Fortunately, there are quite a few calm and intelligent individuals among these minors.
In Class 3-4, there's Kikuchi; in Touman, there's Mitani and Draken; and as for Kanzaki Reimi, who has the highest IQ, she's aloof and eccentric, and harbors resentment towards Onizuka. Right now, she's busy tying Onizuka up and announcing that Onizuka will be her mount until things are resolved.
But this did not stop everyone from discussing how to rescue them. The final result was to split into groups for the search and rescue. Volunteers would conduct a thorough search in groups of four, while the rest would stay where they were and wait for the adults to come to their rescue.
"Whether we find someone or a suspicious cave entrance, we must come back and discuss it with everyone. We cannot act on our own. We cannot afford to lose any more people," Kikuchi summarized the meeting.
"A suspicious hole?" Yi Hu was a little confused.
Kikuchi explained, "I've seen that hole. It's filled with seawater, which means there's an underground ocean current. Such a large island must have other entrances. After discovering it, we had to put aside our curiosity and our eagerness to save people. Even if four people went in blindly, it would still be very dangerous."
Yuko glanced at the direction of the sun, a sense of unease creeping into her heart: "We need to hurry, until the tide comes in..."
Kiku nodded: "Yes, that's why we can't waste time."
----------This is the dividing line where the underground cave in the original GTO had its own natural light, so this work also conveniently ignores common sense in this way--------
Asanuma Nono, who fell into the ground, and Jichang Keisuke, who jumped in on his own initiative, were fortunately caught by the rushing water below the cave and swept together.
When Ye Ye woke up, she found herself lying on her childhood friend's back. She didn't know how long she had been unconscious. The surroundings were wet, like a tunnel.
"Xiao Gui?"
The venue responded with a hint of delight: "You're awake?"
"Did you fall down too?" Nono didn't know that she had followed the track down, and naturally assumed that he had fallen like her. She patted the track's shoulder, "How long have you been carrying me? Put me down."
"You're so long-winded. I've never seen you be polite before."
"That's not the same. We need to conserve our energy now."
"Don't worry, it won't take me much effort."
"A muscle-bound idiot who gets all his nutrition from his crotch," Ye Ye muttered under her breath.
Although I didn't hear clearly, based on my understanding of her, I instinctively asked, "Are you secretly cursing me?"
"No way! I was just praising your looks." Ye Ye lied through her teeth.
Embarrassed by her nonsensical ramblings, she said, "Don't say things like that for no reason!"
Ye Ye stuck out her tongue after being scolded; she was used to it. Xiao Gui gets angry when praised, and she also gets angry when mocked; she's not good at handling shyness.
The two walked along the tunnel and encountered many forks in the road. Without any direction to judge or know which way was the correct exit, they could only choose blindly based on their feelings.
"It seems the water level has risen. Things don't look good." Ye Ye looked down and noticed that the water level seemed to be higher than before, already up to her ankles.
Now that she finally felt fear, Nono said somewhat uneasily, "Kui, do you think we're going to die here?"
"Don't worry, I'll get you out of here," was the venue's usual reply.
"From today onwards, I will protect you."
It was a promise he made easily when he was a child, yet he has always been putting it into practice. After Asanuma Nono's parents divorced, she realized that there might no longer be anyone in this world who would stand up for her if she was wronged. She was forced to learn how to read people's expressions and how to take care of other people's feelings at a young age.
Keisuke Baji was Sano Manjiro's childhood friend, and Nono naturally frequented the Sano family home when she was young. Young children are naturally curious, and Nono, being outgoing, wanted to join in their fun, but seeing Emma all alone, she couldn't resist patiently playing house with her. Yuko was the same; seeing Yuko, who seemed enviable yet out of place, she couldn't help but reach out to her.
When she feels wronged or faces difficulties, she always brushes it off with a laugh, but the only person who can see through this facade is Keisuke Machi.
He possessed a near-intuitive sense of danger, like a wild animal, allowing him to quickly detect Ye Ye's negative emotions and react accordingly. Although his responses were clumsy, such as offering her fried noodles and popsicles, Ye Ye repeatedly had the illusion that he might like her. However, reason quickly told her no, and that his keen perception wasn't exclusive to her. He had tried to test her, but nothing she did elicited a response. He was indifferent to her interactions with others, and physical contact lacked any romantic undertones.
However, as if struck by a sudden inspiration, Ye Ye realized that perhaps today, at this critical moment, she could find an answer. With this resolve, she casually asked, "Xiao Gui, what kind of girl do you like?"
She nearly tripped and fell flat on her face because of her question. He retorted speechlessly, "Asking a question like this at a time like this? Are you alright?"
"Mind your own business. Just say what I tell you to say."
The venue couldn't be bothered with her.
Ye Ye started to act spoiled: "Tell me, tell me, hurry up and tell me."
Perhaps because the venue was too focused on how to get out, and was also annoyed by Nono's ear-piercing voice, she said, "I know, I know, it's probably something like gentle and kind, right?"
This answer, however, was like a blow to the head, silencing Ye Ye completely.
Noticing her dejected expression, the venue was puzzled and asked, "Are you alright? Why aren't you saying anything?"
"Kei, you..." Nono managed to squeeze out a few words, "You don't actually like Yuko, do you?"
The crowd immediately shouted in denial: "What nonsense are you talking about?"
“Yuko is the gentle and kind type!” Nono said with a strange excitement. “You’re doomed. You’re going to steal Sano’s woman. I’m going to tell him when I get out.”
"Tch." The venue didn't seem to care about her threat and was easily distracted by Nono's words. "Mikey won't believe your nonsense... What do you mean by that? Mikey and Yuko?"
"That's exactly what I mean. Sano has a good eye."
“Show some respect to our commander. Why do you always call Mikey Sano? I never even noticed.”
"He was originally Sano. You're only good at fighting, you're completely useless at everything else."
"I!"
Shh, don't talk, there seems to be a sound ahead.
