Chapter 008: A Hero Saves a Beauty
Wuxie went into the first room.
As soon as he opened the door, he was faced with a floor-length mirror with a broken corner. The flashlight's light reflected back at him, coupled with his own reflection in the mirror, startled Wuxie.
After I realized what was happening, I was speechless.
I don’t know what this family was thinking when they were moving and dealing with their clutter. Such a large mirror was placed upright facing the door. Any timid person would have fainted in fear on the spot.
Wuxie shook his head in his heart, turned the flashlight in another direction, and followed the direction with his gaze.
But just as he turned his head, he seemed to catch a glimpse of someone standing behind the door on his right in the mirror.
The face was haggard, looking both human and cat-like. A pair of eyes under the messy hair, which seemed to be glowing in the darkness, were wide open, with a strange greed and cruelty that was not human.
The hand that was still on the door stiffened instantly. Wuxie felt his blood boiling and his mind went blank for a moment. He quickly shone the flashlight into the mirror again.
Looking closely, there was no human figure behind the door in the mirror. For some reason, black mold had grown on the cement wall, and an old almanac was hung at a height equal to that of a person.
Wuxie breathed a sigh of relief when he realized it was a false alarm.
To be on the safe side, he cautiously took two steps forward, turned around and looked behind the door. Finding that there was indeed nothing behind the door, he patrolled the house with confidence.
There were three or four old cabinets and tables in the room, as well as some bottles, jars, cardboard boxes and the like. Wuxie happily went over and started looking through the drawers.
However, what he didn't see was that when he walked to the middle of the room, the door behind him closed quietly and silently.
A strange humanoid creature that looked like a human but had a cat-like face and hands was digging into the ceiling with its claws, staring at him with a greedy look on its face.
When Zhang Moyu took a taxi over, he saw the opened iron gate and the rusty iron chain lock lying on the ground.
He was so preoccupied with his thoughts all the way that he didn't notice that there seemed to be a faint light coming through a window on the third floor.
Looking at the rust on the iron chain lock, and then looking at the key in his hand which was given by his employer and was still about 70% to 80% new, Zhang Moyu couldn't help but frown.
He walked forward, squatted down, and touched the chain with his hand.
As a Prison-Suppressing Black Qilin with a bloodline concentration of up to 80%, in addition to the beast transformation after the bloodline is fully activated and some basic abilities, Zhang Moyu can also sense ominous auras and judge the status of the target through direct contact.
At this moment, feeling the residual negative and turbid energy above, Zhang Moyu couldn't help but sigh in his heart, thinking that trouble was coming again.
Yin Qi gathers around ghosts, goblins, and demons, generally affecting only the mind. Turbid Qi, on the other hand, appears alongside corpses, puppets, and zombies, attacking the physical body.
It seems that there is more than one thing causing trouble in this place. It can emit foul air from its body and cause iron products to rust. This thing has obviously become a big deal.
But it has just reached the threshold of the first level, so it is not difficult for him to deal with it. He just needs to be careful not to let it run away.
Most of the evil spirits are proficient in various crooked ways. Although they are not good at fighting, they are excellent at escaping. He has to be careful, otherwise it will be bad if they are released and harm others.
Relying on the suppression of evil spirits by his blood, Zhang Moyu could roughly sense that the yin energy was concentrated on the third floor, while the turbid energy was mostly gathered underground, and the two were clearly distinguished.
Just as he was hesitating whether to deal with the things above first or go downstairs to take a look, Zhang Moyu heard a heart-wrenching scream coming from a room on the third floor.
After a high-pitched scream, the sounds of rummaging through drawers and breaking ceramics were heard, accompanied by a boy's cry for help and the shrill meow of a cat.
Hearing the loud and powerful cries for help, Zhang Moyu did not rush to save people. Instead, he took two steps back and looked at the small building first.
I saw a light flickering from a window on the third floor from time to time, and I immediately determined the location.
After two running steps, he jumped up with a tap of his foot. With the help of the bulge of the balcony and the external exhaust pipe, Zhang Moyu reached the third floor in a few steps without much effort.
When he reached the window, Zhang Moyu kicked the glass and the wooden frame into pieces, then climbed in.
When Zhang Moyu saw the only two moving creatures in the room, both emitting an ominous aura, his thoughts suddenly froze for a moment.
The neatly dressed young man was surrounded by a sinister aura, but he felt like a living person, and no one knew what it was exactly.
He recognized the other humanoid creature that was on all fours and wanted to attack the other party. It was a cat ghost that had eaten humans.
After discovering that this cat spirit was carrying the sin of cannibalism, Zhang Moyu directly pulled out the white bone whip that was wrapped around his waist as a belt and lashed it with a snap.
The cat spirit was flung out without any resistance, slammed hard against the wall, and then collapsed to the ground, lying there motionless, with no one knowing whether it was alive or dead.
The unexpected incident caught Wuxie off guard, and he hadn't recovered from the shock for a while.
He originally thought that he was going to fail here today...it was just a little bit!
Just a few centimeters away, the monster's claws would have pierced through his chest and pulled out his pounding little heart.
After running around the house and trying to escape for a while, Wuxie finally relaxed. He felt weak all over and collapsed against the wall.
Zhang Moyu turned the hand wearing the black jade Qilin bracelet, and a small bottle appeared in his hand, which contained the same light red liquid as the last time he killed the wandering soul.
He threw the small bottle toward the cat spirit, and when it reached above the dead cat spirit, he swung the whip again, bursting the bottle and spilling the liquid inside all over the cat spirit.
A shrill cat cry suddenly sounded, and the cat spirit that was originally lying motionless on the ground jumped up instantly as if it were dead, but before it could run two steps outside, it knelt on the ground, making a sound as if its throat was blocked, and completely collapsed with black smoke coming out of its body.
Wuxie remained slumped on the ground, staring at the scene in a daze, swallowing unconsciously.
After Zhang Moyu was sure that the cat was dead, he turned his gaze to Wuxie.
Although he looks like a human, Zhang Moyu doesn't believe in his human identity at all.
Whose good person is surrounded by evil and murderous aura comparable to that of a red-clothed ghost?
Judging from the aura of this person, if he wasn't still breathing and having a heartbeat, and looked like a living person, Zhang Moyu would have whipped him directly.
Zhang Moyu took two slow steps with caution and stood in front of Wuxie.
Wuxie felt a strong sense of oppression from him, as well as a vague sense of hostility and vigilance, and froze in place, not daring to move.
