Chapter 207 almost saw old grievances brought up.
Yan Kui lay on the sofa, opened her mobile banking app to check her balance, and carefully counted the numbers.
Ones, tens, hundreds, ..., hundreds of thousands, millions, tens of millions...
The money I invested has doubled!
"We're about to become rich again!!"
Yan Kui hugged her phone to her chest, overjoyed.
Wei Yin came downstairs and saw the woman on the sofa smiling broadly, her eyes crinkling at the corners of her mouth. He pressed his warm palm against her.
He pressed his thumb and forefinger on both sides of Yan Kui's cheeks, his hand cupping her face.
"Let's have hot pot tonight."
Yan Kui sat up: "Why did you suddenly think of having hot pot at home?"
"Let's go, you'll see when we get down."
Yan Kui put her phone away and went downstairs, where she saw Yan Sheng excitedly helping to set the table.
"Sis! Come quick!"
Yan Kui glanced at the food on the table; it was just a typical spicy hot pot, with some meat and vegetables as hot pot ingredients.
Why are these two people acting so strangely?
Yan Kui sat down in the chair with questions in her mind, and Yan Sheng picked up the serving chopsticks and put a large pile of vegetables into them.
Yan Kui thought to herself, "Has this kid changed his ways today? Why isn't he eating the meat first?"
Wei Yin remained silent.
The vegetables had only been cooking for half a minute when Wei Yin picked some up and put them in her bowl.
"Try it."
Yan Kui's gaze lingered between the two of them again, and she slowly picked up a spinach and put it in her mouth.
Yan Sheng didn't even eat; he just kept staring at Yan Kui.
Then Wei Yin asked, "Is it delicious?"
Yan Kui chewed a few times, swallowed, and then said, "It's delicious, very sweet and tender. Did Aunt Min buy it? I rarely see such sweet vegetables."
Upon hearing this, Yan Sheng immediately picked up two chopsticks and put them in his mouth.
Wei Yin's lips curled into a smile, his voice low and deep: "You planted them, forgot?"
Yan Kui's expression froze for a moment, then she quickly exclaimed in surprise, "The one we planted last year?!"
Seeing the barely suppressed excitement on her face, Wei Yin smiled and said, "Yes, after we left, Aunt Song took care of the land for you and collected seeds to replant at the end of the year. Uncle Huang brought them over today on his way back from Luoxia Village."
"You actually remember me saying I'd use them for hot pot!"
Wei Yin glanced at Yan Sheng, who was eating intently, as if he knew what Yan Kui was about to say, and coughed lightly: "Eat first."
Yan Kui was in a good mood and ate a lot during the meal.
Back in the room, Wei Yin held her on his lap and gently massaged her slightly protruding belly, which was a result of eating too much food.
The pressure was just right, not too light or too heavy, and it felt like a very skillful technique; Yan Kui felt extremely comfortable.
The bedroom curtains were drawn tightly, leaving only the projector beam tracing a clear path in the dim air, which was filled with a soft warmth.
Yan Kui was almost completely nestled in his arms, her back pressed against Wei Yin's chest, and she could clearly feel the steady rise and fall of his breathing and the body heat transmitted through the thin fabric.
Yan Kui suddenly muttered a couple more times: "Wei Yin, did you like me a long time ago?"
Wei Yin chuckled softly, his breath brushing against her earlobe: "Didn't you fall for me first?"
"You were the one who liked me first!"
"Really?" Wei Yin didn't want to admit it, but his hands didn't stop moving.
"Absolutely! You helped me grow vegetables, cooked for me, and even took me to town..."
Yan Kui wouldn't let him rub her stomach anymore, and changed her position to get closer to Wei Yin, her sweet breath spraying onto his cheek: "Tell me, didn't you fall in love with me at first sight?"
Wei Yin didn't want her to get too cocky, so after a few seconds of thought, he said, "Didn't your legs go weak and you couldn't walk when you first met me?"
Yan Kui recalled the scene from that day and immediately bristled: "What?! It's because I had that kind of dream!! Isn't it normal for my legs to go weak?!"
"I was almost scared to death at the time. I thought there really was a ghost."
After Yan Kui finished speaking, she seemed to breathe a sigh of relief and leaned back on the sofa.
Suddenly, I felt that something was wrong.
"Speaking of ghosts..."
“Wei Yin, I remember you burned a lot of paper money in the courtyard back then…”
