Chapter 221 A Decent Brother-in-Law

Chapter 221 A Decent Brother-in-Law

After Yan Sheng sent the message, Lin Yao did not reply.

After the three arrived at the Wei family residence, Old Master Wei sat down at the table with a big smile on his face.

Seeing the two sitting together so affectionately, Grandpa Wei finally felt relieved.

"Alright, alright, now that you're engaged, I don't have anything else to offer."

“When Yan Sheng came to my house last time, I didn’t prepare a gift. This time, I’ll give him the house in Qianwan. Haha, it can be considered as a make-up gift for our first meeting.”

When Yan Sheng heard Grandpa Wei mention his name, he was so frightened that he immediately put down his chopsticks.

"Grandpa, you don't need to give them to me. These things are too valuable. I can't accept them."

Yan Kui was also a little embarrassed, as the houses in Qianwan were among the most expensive plots of land in Taipei.

He couldn't help but look at Wei Yin, poking his thigh under the table with his fingertip, trying to get him to persuade Old Master Wei.

No sooner had Yan Kui poked it than her hand was grasped, and Wei Yin chuckled and said, "Sure, but young people probably won't like the decor of that house."

Grandpa Wei waved his hand dismissively and said to the butler beside him, "Prepare a few options for Yan Sheng to choose from, and start the renovation."

Yan Sheng looked anxiously at his older sister. Yan Kui tried to free her wrists from Wei Yin's grasp, but found that she couldn't pull them out at all.

He turned to Grandpa Wei and said, "Grandpa, there's no need to give Xiao Sheng such an expensive gift. He's still in school..."

"It's just a house. We're all family. The most important thing is that everyone is happy."

"Alright, it's decided then. I know best that Xiao Sheng is a well-behaved and sensible child."

With just a few words, Grandpa Wei made the two Yan siblings unsure how to refuse.

Yan Kui looked at Wei Yin and saw a smile hidden in his eyes as he held her hand and massaged it gently under the table.

After the three finished their meal at the main house, the butler quickly brought over several renovation plans for Yan Sheng to choose from.

Yan Sheng looked at Yan Kui for help, not daring to reach out and take it.

Until Wei Yin lightly patted the back of his head and said succinctly, "Choose."

Yan Sheng didn't dare to refute it at all, and reluctantly began to make his selection.

After finally deciding on a style, Grandpa Wei then asked Yan Kui and Wei Yin when they would get their marriage certificate.

Yan Kui wanted to pass the question to Wei Yin, but he just stared at her with a half-smile, without saying a word.

Yan Kui could only reply dryly, "I'll do it as soon as possible..."

Fortunately, Yan Sheng, who was standing next to Yan Kui, suddenly tugged at her sleeve.

Yan Kui immediately changed the subject: "Xiao Sheng, what's wrong?"

Yan Sheng looked at the message in the class group and whispered, "Sis, the school is having a 100-day countdown rally next Tuesday, and parents are required to attend. Are you free?"

Just as Yan Kui was about to check her phone calendar, she heard Old Master Wei say, "Let Wei Yin go. Isn't he on an engagement leave? He has plenty of time."

Wei Yin chuckled upon hearing this, readily agreeing: "Alright, I'll go."

Yan Sheng simply blinked his eyes at Yan Kui. To him, it seemed that anyone could go, and if all else failed, Cheng Zhi could go too.

Yan Kui glanced at the calendar and was about to say she would go herself, but she had arranged to meet with people from Lu Jingbei's studio that day, along with Lin Jing.

On the way home, he could only silently tell Wei Yin, "You two go together. If there's anything you need to do, remember to come back and tell me, or have the homeroom teacher send me a message."

Wei Yin stylishly steered the wheel with one hand, his long, strong fingertips tapping Yan Kui's forehead: "Don't be nervous, I'll be very competent."
