Chapter 23 Things

Chapter 23 Things

Wei Yin despised himself for being bewitched by this woman again, unable to control himself at all.

After getting up, I saw the ashes from the burning paper money still piled up in the corner of the yard, so I quickly washed my pants.

After changing his clothes, he went to the convenience store, bought all the paper money, and carried it back to the yard.

When Huang Maomao came over, he saw the mountain of paper money piled up in the yard and asked in surprise, "Brother Yin, why did you buy so much again? Didn't you burn any yesterday?"

Wei Yin's face wasn't very pleasant, and his handsome brows furrowed: "It's burned, but it's not enough."

"What do you mean? Weren't those two big bags from yesterday enough?"

"Who are you burning it for? Do you need that much money?"

Wei Yin didn't want to explain, and didn't know how to explain. He snatched the freshly washed cucumber from Huang Maomao's hand and took a bite.

Seeing this, Huang Maomao stopped asking questions and said, "We've borrowed the tricycle, and my mom made some pancakes for you. Shall we set off?"

Wei Yin took the juicy and fragrant meat pie and began to eat it heartily.

Huang Maomao sat to the side and waited for him to finish eating, until Wei Yin swallowed the last bite: "Let's go."

Wei Yin rode the tricycle, with Huang Maomao sitting in the back, and the two headed straight for the town.

Yan Kui ate only a bowl of noodles yesterday and was too embarrassed to go to Aunt Song's for another meal. Knowing that Huang Maomao was going to town today, she simply drank two glasses of water and waited for him to come back.

By noon, the two still hadn't returned, and Yan Kui was so hungry she was dizzy.

Suddenly I saw someone at the door.

"Little Sunflower, Auntie made these pancakes this morning, come and have a taste."

As if hearing celestial music, Yan Kui immediately opened the courtyard gate and gratefully accepted the plate of cakes from Aunt Song's hand.

"Aunt Song, thank you so much, sob sob..."

Aunt Song was amused by her little face: "What are you saying? We're neighbors, don't be so polite. Go back and eat. Just bring the plate back to me next time."

Yan Kui nodded vigorously. Seeing this, Aunt Song didn't linger and turned to go home.

Seeing that the person had left, Yan Kui quickly picked up the pancake and took a bite.

Tender and juicy, with a thin skin and generous filling.

It's so delicious.

Yan Kui finished the three pancakes in no time, patted her full stomach with satisfaction, went back to the kitchen, squeezed out two full pumps of dish soap, and started washing the dishes.

Wei Yin and Huang Maomao didn't return until it was almost dark in the afternoon.

Looking at the truck full of supplies, Huang Maomao sighed, "I'm exhausted."

Seeing his expression, Wei Yin found it somewhat amusing. The image of the figure he had inadvertently seen outside the restroom across the street flashed through his mind, and his face darkened.

"Pack it up for her, then you can take it over."

…………

Yan Kui was asleep on the sofa when she suddenly heard rustling sounds from the windowsill, which startled her so much that she sat up.

Mustering his courage, he shouted loudly, "Who is it!"

No one responded.

Just then, Huang Mao Mao stood outside the courtyard carrying large and small bags, calling out, "Yan Kui! Your things are here!"

Yan Kui heard the familiar voice, put on her shoes, and quickly came out.

Seeing Huang Maomao standing at the door with a grin, he quickly opened the gate.

Huang Maomao carried her directly into the house.

Seeing this, Yan Kui recalled the commotion outside the window and quietly asked, "Are there any bad people in your village?"

Huang Maomao was confused: "No, the village is mostly old people and children. Young people, regardless of gender, except for me and Brother Yin, have all gone out to work or go to school."

Yan Kui looked towards the window and said, "I just heard a noise from the window, it was so scary."

"Then it's even less of a problem. It's probably just a stray cat or something. Your neighbor, Brother Yin, is absolutely safe."

Yan Kui asked curiously, "Authentic?"

He then asked, "Who is Brother Yin?"

"Absolutely authentic, you can rest assured."

Seeing her curiosity, Huang Maomao immediately said, "Brother Yin is my idol. He's the most handsome man in the entire Luoxia Village and even the whole country! A true man!"

Yan Kui was amused by him, but also somewhat skeptical. Suddenly, she saw Huang Maomao take out money from his bag and hand it to her.

"I spent a total of 4157.6 yuan on these items. I bought all the most expensive ones on the shelves, and I bought a lot. Also, these clothes are very expensive in the decent-looking shops in town. I only have 842.4 yuan left. And the 100 yuan you left at my house last time is all here."

Yan Kui quickly returned the money: "No, this remaining money is a tip for your hard work. The 100 yuan was what I gave Aunt Song when we ate at your house last time."

Seeing that she was being too polite, Huang Maomao simply put the money on the table: "Why are you being so formal? We're neighbors, it's just a small favor!"

After saying that, he ran away in a flash.

Yan Kui looked at the large and small bags on the ground, and the scattered money on the table.

I suddenly felt a little touched.
