Chapter 294 Returning to the Village Before the Spring Festival

Chapter 294 Returning to the Village Before the Spring Festival

When Yan Kui was more than four months pregnant, the Chinese New Year arrived.

"Wei Yin."

After becoming pregnant, Yan Kui gained some weight, giving her a supple yet languid feminine charm.

When Wei Yin heard her call his name, he walked over.

Are you hungry?

"No, I have an idea."

"Tell me," Wei Yin said, smiling at her.

Yan Kui moved closer to him: "How about we go back to Luoxia Village for the New Year this year?"

Wei Yin had previously repaired the road in Luoxia Village, so it's now convenient to go back; you can drive there directly after getting off the plane.

He stared at her for two seconds and said, "Okay."

Yan Sheng was the most excited to learn that they would be spending the Spring Festival in Luoxia Village, but Huang Maomao was the least happy.

Huang Maomao, pulling his suitcase, had originally intended to use Brother Yin as an excuse to refuse his parents' request for him to return to the village for the New Year. Instead, he booked a high-end restaurant in Taipei, listening to music and admiring beautiful women.

Isn't this a bad way to spend the New Year? Why do we have to go back? We have nothing now, and we might even get scolded every now and then.

Huang Maomao really wanted to pretend to be dizzy before boarding the plane.

But he didn't have the guts.

Fortunately, the plane that flew back to Yue City this time was the Wei family's private plane, and Old Master Wei also went.

After the group landed, two minivans drove directly from the airport to Luoxia Village.

Yan Kui took a nap in the car. When she woke up, she found that the village roads were now flat and wide, and the snow on the roads had been cleared away by the villagers.

When the village chief learned that the Wei family had returned for the New Year, he excitedly brought over two large baskets of farm eggs and kept thanking Grandpa Wei and Wei Yin.

"Since the road was repaired, the young people in the village have been coming back more often, and many filial children have even bought large items for their families, which are easily transported from the town."

"Even Aunt Wang, whose house burned down, was taken to the city for the New Year in a grand manner by her son who drove a car."

As soon as Yan Kui entered the courtyard, she saw Yan Sheng skillfully sweeping the area with a broom.

Seeing this, Huang Maomao advised, "Yansheng, why don't you just stay at Brother Yin's house? There are plenty of rooms."

Yan Sheng simply shook his head: "I've got nothing else to do, so I'll clean it up. There's not much stuff in the house anyway, just a lot of dust."

After saying that, Yan Sheng went to the convenience store and bought a stick of incense.

The photos of Yan Weihua and Meng Baozhu have been taken to Taipei City, and now only a small incense burner is placed on the table.

Yan Kui lit the incense, bowed, and inserted it into the incense burner without saying a word, keeping everything buried in her heart.

Wei Yin skillfully took out a few incense sticks, lit them, bowed, and inserted them in the same way Yan Kui had done earlier: "Take me to meet my parents another day."

Wei Yin looked at Yan Kui with a smile in his eyes.

So the three of them went to the graves of Yan's parents the next day. It snowed a little along the way, and Wei Yin held Yan Kui the whole time.

Yan Kui was dressed warmly, wearing a hat, scarf, gloves, and a mask. Perhaps it was because the man's embrace was so warm, Yan Kui even fell asleep leaning against him.

When she woke up, the group had already arrived at the grave, and Wei Yin called to her softly.

Yan Kui groggily got down, and after regaining her balance, she saw Wei Yin take the backpack from Yan Sheng's back and take out a set of hammer, mallet, and chisel from it.

Yan Kui wanted to ask him what he needed these for.

But then Wei Yin squatted down in front of the tombstone, carefully wiping it clean with a cloth. He held the carving knife tightly in his hand, and with a soft sound, each stroke was carved with absolute certainty.

And so, amidst the clanging sounds, and with each stroke of his pen, Yan Kui gradually came to see the words carved on the corner of the tombstone.

Dutiful daughter: Yan Kui.

Filial son-in-law: Wei Yin.
