Chapter 298 I feel like she wants to apologize to me
After Lunar New Year's Eve comes the Spring Festival.
Because of road construction, the village even got internet access.
Yan Kui was woken up by the sound of firecrackers in the village this morning. She got up early and sat on the sofa to look at her phone.
When Huang Xinwan brought the dumplings over, it was Yan Kui who opened the door.
Looking at the woman in front of her with a slightly protruding belly, Huang Xinwan subconsciously held the small bowl full of dumplings in front of her chest with both hands.
"My mom cooked this for you guys for breakfast."
Yan Kui nodded blankly and said thank you.
Just as she was about to take the bowl of dumplings, Huang Xinwan suddenly said, "Let me take it inside and put it on the table; this bowl is quite heavy."
Upon hearing this, Yan Kui moved to the side and said, "Ah, come in and sit down."
Huang Xinwan carefully stepped over Yan Kui, then placed the bowl on the table: "Eat quickly, it won't taste good if it gets cold."
After speaking, he walked out the door, maintaining a distance of almost half a meter from Yan Kui in an extremely awkward manner.
Wei Yin came out of the bathroom and saw that she had left the door open, so he went over and closed it: "It's cold outside."
Watching Huang Xinwan's retreating figure as she jogged away, Yan Kui thoughtfully remarked, "I think Mao Mao and her sister look quite alike."
Wei Yin looked at the large bowl of dumplings on the table: "Did Mao Mao's sister send these over?"
"You chatted?"
"Hmm," Yan Kui took the chopsticks, ate a dumpling, swallowed it, and then said, "I feel like she wants to apologize to me, but she's too shy to do so."
Yan Kui spoke in a serious tone, and Wei Yin was charmed by her sudden remark, so he fed her another dumpling and brought it to her mouth.
"So you're not angry with her anymore?"
Yan Kui looked slightly shocked: "I was never angry with her. I even made her leave because of those few crayfish. She was the one who suffered, as she spent so much time washing them but didn't get to eat them."
After Yan Kui finished speaking, she even chuckled twice: "At the time, I didn't intend to save face for her. I wanted to eat everything I saw."
"So you got gastroenteritis from eating that?"
Wei Yin immediately realized he had spoken too quickly and changed the subject before Yan Kui could explode: "I'll go get you some vinegar. Would you like some soy milk? Aunt Song soaked some beans yesterday and brought them over."
Just as Yan Kui's emotions were beginning to boil, he changed the subject: "I want to drink it, but I don't want sugar."
"Okay, I'll go to the kitchen to get the soy milk maker."
As Wei Yin walked towards the kitchen, he happened to pass by the window.
Outside the window, Yan Sheng was talking to someone on his phone, but Wei Yin could see the barely suppressed smile on his face and the fact that he kept repeating the same sentence because the network signal wasn't very good.
Wei Yin only overheard for a short while when he was getting vinegar and making soy milk.
Back at the table, I asked Yan Kui, "Are Xiao Sheng and Fang Tiantian dating?"
"Did they talk about it?" Yan Kui didn't know.
Wei Yin shrugged: "I don't know, but I accidentally overheard him on video just now."
Yan Kui glanced out the window but didn't see anyone. Instead, she saw Yan Sheng come in from outside, his shoulders covered in snow.
Yan Sheng's hand holding the phone was an unnatural red from the cold. Yan Kui didn't ask anything, but just told him to come over and have a cup of soy milk to warm himself up.
After breakfast, Grandpa Wei was watching TV in the living room, while Yan Sheng and Huang Maomao disappeared somewhere.
Yan Kui quietly went into the yard and, wearing gloves, built a large snowman outside.
I deliberately used carrots, which Wei Yin hates the most, to make the snowman's eyes and nose.
He called out into the room, "Wei Yin, I've made a statue of you!"
