Chapter 32 Eating Crayfish
Yan Kui immediately jumped up, her face filled with barely concealed excitement.
As he jogged and pushed open Wei Yin's door, he heard Huang Xinwan angrily saying, "Why should she get to eat the lobsters we worked so hard to prepare?!"
Huang Maomao was speechless. He remembered that his sister wasn't such a petty person before.
"Sis, what's wrong with you? It's just a snack, why are you so angry all day?"
Yan Kui was even more speechless.
But she must eat this meal today, even if it means death!
When Huang Xinwan saw Yan Kui walk in, her brows furrowed even deeper. Seeing that Yan Kui was still sitting in the seat closest to the crayfish, she couldn't help but speak up:
"You're not allowed to eat the crayfish I cooked!"
Yan Kui remained expressionless and looked at Huang Maomao: "Maomao, you invited me to dinner, can I still eat now?"
Huang Maomao noticed his younger sister's unpleasant expression and then looked at Yan Kui's smiling face, unsure of what to do.
Just then, Wei Yin finished cooking the last dish and came out, seeing Yan Kui smiling in his direction.
Yan Kui noticed Wei Yin had come out and immediately looked away.
Then he asked, "Can I eat it?"
Wei Yin, not understanding what was going on, put down the plate of scrambled eggs with tomatoes in his hand.
"It's edible."
Upon hearing this, Yan Kui immediately picked up her chopsticks and started putting crayfish into the bowl.
Upon seeing this, Huang Xinwan immediately shouted, "I told you not to eat the lobsters I cooked!"
Yan Kui looked at the woman and thought she was going crazy.
He didn't want to laugh anymore and looked at Huang Maomao: "Maomao, did you and Brother Yin eat these shrimp?"
Huang Maomao, not understanding, nodded.
Yan Kui looked at Huang Xinwan, her tone slightly amused: "Since you won't let me eat what you cooked, then I'll eat what Mao Mao and Brother Yin cooked. You can pick out the ones you cooked yourself."
"I will absolutely not touch it."
Huang Xinwan was dumbfounded.
Even Huang Mao Mao's eyes widened in surprise.
Only Wei Yin lowered his head and chuckled softly.
"You...you..."
Huang Xinwan couldn't utter a complete sentence even after all that time.
Yan Kui picked up her chopsticks and said in a calm tone, "Are you going to pick or not? If you don't, don't accuse me of cleaning the dishes later if I eat them."
Huang Xinwan's face flushed red with anger, and she slammed her chopsticks down, shouting, "I'm not eating anymore!"
After saying that, he ran straight out of the yard.
Wei Yin watched Huang Xinwan run away, with nothing to say. At that moment, only one thought was in his mind: This woman kept calling him "Brother Yin" so familiarly.
Yan Kui shrugged, picked up a mouthful of stir-fried pork with chili peppers and ate it heartily, feeling so happy she wanted to cry.
After swallowing, he said to Huang Maomao, "Maomao, your sister targeted me first. I didn't bully her on her own initiative."
Huang Maomao knew perfectly well why his sister was targeting Yan Kui, and feeling a little embarrassed, he quickly said, "It's okay, it's okay, eat up."
Yan Kui was starving; it felt like she hadn't eaten anything this delicious in almost a century.
After finishing two bowls of rice and vegetables, he started peeling crayfish.
Wei Yin raised an eyebrow as he watched her eat.
Yan Kui swallowed the last crayfish and patted her belly contentedly. In all her years, she had never eaten so much at once.
He thanked Wei Yin and Huang Maomao before leisurely heading home.
Yan Kui returned to the living room, immediately lay down, rubbed her stomach, and picked up her phone to play a single-player game.
But gradually, Yan Kui felt bloated in her stomach, with acid reflux and even waves of pain.
Yan Kui thought to herself: Oh no, I've been eating irregularly lately, sometimes I eat a lot and sometimes I don't, and I ate too much tonight, I'm definitely going to get gastroenteritis...
