Chapter 55 Ambiguity

Chapter 55 Ambiguity

As the movie started playing, Wei Yin turned around and sat down on the sofa. He tossed a small blanket that had been prepared at some point next to Yan Kui.

As night deepened, only a warm yellow floor lamp was lit in the living room. The light from the TV screen flickered on the wall. Yan Kui initially watched intently, but then she and Wei Yin fell silent.

Gradually, Yan Kui's thoughts drifted away.

The two sat side by side on the sofa, at a subtle distance—neither too close nor too far apart, yet seemingly a little closer than usual.

Yan Kui's long hair was spread out beside the pillow, and the faint scent of shampoo wafted over, which distracted Wei Yin.

Suddenly feeling that the movie sound was a bit low, Yan Kui blinked and looked around, not knowing where the remote control had been thrown.

But Wei Yin didn't say he wanted to adjust the volume, nor did he say he wanted to find the remote control.

It's quite cold in Luoxia Village at night now. Yan Kui wasn't wearing many layers, and seeing the neatly folded blanket next to her, she said, "It's a bit cold..."

Yan Kui spoke softly, her fingers unconsciously curling the edge of the blanket.

Wei Yin's Adam's apple bobbed, and after hesitating for two seconds, he reached out and unfolded the blanket, covering Yan Kui's legs.

The two got closer together, and Wei Yin slid his arm, which was resting on the back of the sofa, down a little, his fingertips almost touching her shoulder.

The movie suddenly paused, and Yan Kui turned her head, her eyes meeting Wei Yin's. Startled, she immediately turned away again.

Wei Yin looked down and noticed that Yan Kui's hair had fallen to his waist, and his breathing became heavier.

"you……"

Yan Kui spoke first, but didn't know what to say.

Her ears burned, and she could feel his warm breath coming from beside her.

Just then, a distant bolt of lightning struck outside the window. Yan Kui subconsciously moved closer to Wei Yin, gripping the small blanket even tighter.

Wei Yin pulled the person closer to him and looked out the window: "It looks like it's going to rain."

Then, the sound of heavy rain drowned out the television sound, but Yan Kui felt her heart pounding deafeningly.

"Wasn't that the scene where the female lead's mother wanted her to go with her to fight the mistress?"

After Yan Kui finished speaking, her eyes unconsciously glanced at Wei Yin's Adam's apple.

Wei Yin smiled and sighed, "Who knows?"

The rain outside grew louder and louder, and the thunder sounded as if it would split the sky apart.

Seeing this, Yan Kui put on her shoes and stood up from next to Wei Yin: "It's raining so hard, I should go back first."

Wei Yin took an umbrella from beside the sofa, opened the door and said to Yan Kui, "Let's go, I'll take you there."

Yan Kui nodded, looking at the somewhat frightening sound of rain outside.

The umbrella was large, but the rain kept pouring down on them. Wei Yin pulled her into his arms and used the umbrella and his body to shield her from most of the rain.

Yan Kui walked to the door, politely thanked Wei Yin, and told him to go back quickly.

When Yan Kui opened the door, she was stunned.

Can anyone tell her how this house can leak so badly when it rains?!

The living room is now like a waterfall; you could practically scoop fish out of it if she went in wearing sandals!

After hesitating for a moment, Yan Kui immediately turned around and shouted to the person who had just walked out of the yard, "Wei Yin, my house is flooded!"

Wei Yin walked back, looked at the house that was difficult to enter, and his gaze fell on Yan Kui.

His gaze deepened as he stared at Yan Kui's wet eyes.

"Say it out loud."

Yan Kui took a deep breath and said, "Let me stay at your house for the night..."

"good".

So Yan Kui moved into Wei Yin's small bedroom in a glamorous manner.

Before this, Wei Yin had even made her change to a new bed sheet.

"This bed hasn't been used in a long time, so just make do with it."

The moment Yan Kui lay down, she really wanted to cry.

She hadn't slept in such a soft bed in a long time, and one that wouldn't creak even when she turned over vigorously...
