Chapter 104 Money and power were things Wei Yin was born with.
Fang Yue reached out and shook hands, then quickly let go.
"We've heard so much about you, Mao Mao has told us a bit about you."
Fang Yue's voice was gentle and refined, and he spoke with a scholarly air about him.
Lu Jingnan patted Wei Yin on the shoulder, raised his glass and clinked it with his, his voice booming: "Brother Yin, I heard you two met in the village? How did you meet? Tell me in detail."
His consistent bluntness.
Wei Yin took a sip of the red wine in his glass and glanced at Lu Jingnan: "Don't ask too many questions."
Lu Jingnan was displeased and started rambling on to Wei Yin: "You've been in the countryside for so long, we haven't seen each other in ages. When I asked Mao Mao before, his mouth was like it was locked whenever you were mentioned."
"You won't tell me when I ask you, so I'll ask your sister-in-law then."
Seeing this, he picked up his wine glass and got up to go to Yan Kui's side.
Wei Yin reached out and grabbed Lu Jingnan's clothes, pulling him back onto the sofa: "Ask away."
Whether or not to go back depends on my mood.
Seeing that Wei Yin had relented, Lu Jingnan immediately asked, "Where is your wife from? How old is she? How did you two meet?"
As soon as he finished asking the question, Wei Yin started chatting with Fang Yue.
Lu Jingnan felt like he had been tricked.
Seeing this, Yan Kui moved aside a bit and replied, "I'm from Yue Province, but I've always lived in Nanshi. I spent some time in the village last year, so I met Wei Yin."
Lu Jingnan originally had no feelings for Yan Kui; he only wanted to gossip because he was curious about Wei Yin.
After all, he himself was a playboy, but Wei Yin was not. From childhood to adulthood, he had never been seen to have intimate contact with any girl.
But Yan Kui actually took the initiative to save face. Lu Jingnan thought that Yan Kui must be too kind to have won over Brother Yin.
"Alright, thank you for clearing up my doubts, sister-in-law. I'll drink this glass myself!"
Seeing this, Yan Kui wondered if she should also have a drink. Just as she reached for her glass, she saw Wei Yin's slender fingers lift the glass and clink it against Lu Jingnan's.
The wine glasses clinked together.
Wei Yin downed his drink in one gulp, then noticed Yan Kui staring at him: "Want some?"
Yan Kui shook her head. She could handle a drink or two, but her behavior after drinking too much was questionable.
“You guys drink. It’s Sunday today. I’ll video call Yansheng. He said he wanted to say hello to Mao Mao.”
After saying that, Yan Kui picked up her phone and made a video call. Yan Sheng's face, sitting at his desk, quickly appeared on the screen.
"sister!"
Yan Sheng laughed happily. Yan Kui said a few words to him and then handed the phone to Huang Maomao.
Soon, the two were chatting familiarly.
Huang Maomao asked Yan Sheng to come to Taipei after his vacation, and Yan Sheng said he would ask his sister about it.
Huang Maomao thought to himself, "Well, Yan Sheng now looks like a spoiled brat."
For dinner, the five of them went to a very private restaurant.
The room was brightly lit, and the chef was working diligently with his utensils. The air was filled with the intense aroma of butter and Sichuan peppercorns.
Wei Yin sat in the center of the dining table.
Wei Yin was born into a privileged family and grew up surrounded and flattered in Taipei.
He had just rolled up his sleeves, revealing his sleek forearms and the expensive watch on his wrist, and began cutting his steak.
After the steak was cut into small pieces, it was naturally placed into Yan Kui's bowl.
Yan Kui was chatting with Huang Maomao about the food in Nanshi, seemingly used to the food Wei Yin put into his bowl.
Lu Jingnan was so frightened that he almost spat out the water he had just drunk.
No? How did it become Brother Yin serving others? What kind of life do they actually lead in the village?
It's not really Lu Jingnan's fault.
Wei Yin had truly been pampered and spoiled since childhood.
Except for the occasional trip back to the countryside with his grandfather to cultivate his mind and body, Wei Yin never personally cuts meat for others when he is in Taipei.
There were so many people who wanted to curry favor with him and serve him that they couldn't even get a number in line.
Money and power were things Wei Yin was born with.
In their eyes, having Wei Yin serve others was something they had never imagined.
