Chapter 232 Wasabi Giant Freshwater Shrimp

Chapter 232 Wasabi Giant Freshwater Shrimp

After hanging up the phone, Yan Kui felt a tightness in her chest.

After getting home, I lay on the sofa and made a video call to Wei Yin.

It was answered after only a few rings.

Where are we going?

Wei Yin, sitting in his car on the other end of the phone, smiled lazily when he saw that Yan Kui had finally decided to video call him.

"Just came from the office, did you meet up with a friend?"

"Not yet, she's away on a business trip and won't be back until tonight."

Yan Kui's tone was sullen, and with the phone so close to her, Wei Yin quickly noticed that she was in a bad mood.

Are you unhappy?

Yan Kui rolled over: "No."

"I just miss you. When are you coming over?"

Wei Yin chuckled: "Trying to coax me? You went there before I even got there, and now you say you miss me."

The teasing remark was only this one sentence, and he quickly added, "I'll do it as soon as possible. If you miss me, don't hang up the video."

Yan Kui looked at the screen with clear eyes and nodded obediently.

"What are you wearing today? Is it hot in Nanshi?"

She set the living room air conditioner to 23 degrees Celsius: "I'm wearing a regular short-sleeved shirt. It's very hot, hotter than Taipei, and much more humid."

"Your aunt will come over to cook for you tonight? You must be dreaming! Then let your friend stay at your house, and be careful until I get there."

Yan Kui listened obediently and nodded sensibly.

With her whole face close to the camera, she looked like a clingy and helpless kitten, which softened Wei Yin's heart.

Just two minutes after she finished speaking, Aunt Xia came over, bringing several portions of homemade silver thread rolls and pickled vegetables.

"Miss Yan, I'm late today. Please have something to eat first, and I'll have dinner ready soon."

Yan Kui propped her phone up on a stand, nodded to Aunt Xia, and politely thanked her as she took the items.

The sound of water came from the phone, followed by Wei Yin's slightly teasing voice: "Aunt Min made your favorite wasabi prawns today."

Yan Kui's right cheek was stuffed with silver thread rolls, forming a small bump. She secretly glared at Wei Yin on the screen, then pouted at Aunt Xia in the kitchen, "Auntie, I want to eat wasabi prawns tomorrow."

Aunt Xia readily agreed: "The freshwater prawns at the market lately are very good, all of them are full of roe. I'll make more tomorrow, Miss Yan, please feel free to eat."

Yan Kui raised an eyebrow at Wei Yin on the screen, indicating that she had one too.

Seeing that she was feeling a bit better, Wei Yin popped a shrimp into his mouth and suggested, "Should we call your friend first?"

Yan Kui glanced at the time; Lan Yueyue should arrive in Nanshi in another hour. He replied "Okay," quickly hung up, and dialed Lan Yueyue's number.

Wei Yin looked at the video call that was quickly disconnected, his expression a mixture of helplessness and a sense of having become accustomed to it.

Yan Sheng returned later on his bicycle, with a large pile of things hanging on both sides of it.

Seeing this, Aunt Min quickly had someone help him take it down, and asked with a kind smile, "Young master, why did you bring back so many things?"

Yan Sheng handed one of the bags to the person next to him: "Could you please put this in the warehouse for me? Thank you."

A rather robust-looking woman took it, quickly carried it to the warehouse, and when she placed it next to the shelf, she accidentally saw a dense array of envelopes inside. She wondered what they were, but she dared not touch the owner's things. She closed the door and quickly left the warehouse.

Yan Sheng was carrying another large bag of books upstairs when he ran into Wei Yin, who was coming downstairs.

"Brother-in-law."

Wei Yin hummed in agreement: "Why are you bringing up so much stuff?"

"The college entrance exam is in a few days, so I won't have to go to school anymore. I'll move all my things back here."
