Chapter 116 So you don’t have to be too moved, Gu Xiangsi!
"I'm asking you a question." Li Xiaoyao kicked again.
The man was so frightened that he was shaking all over and could not speak clearly, but he still fell out in a hurry.
"The woman next to me gave me 1 million, and Mr. Zhao... Mr. Zhao gave me 2 million! He said, he said that if he couldn't get it, he would let Mr. Fu..."
"Disgusting." The last two words were said tremblingly.
Fu Sinian listened with a sneer on his face.
"You are really good at business..."
He paused, his eyes suddenly turned cold, and his gaze fell on Gu Xianglian beside him.
"So what about you? You have a black heart? She is your cousin after all."
"Who made her a vixen!" Gu Xianglian seemed to have touched something, and suddenly became excited, her voice rising a little.
"She's hooking up with this one, and that one! It seems like even the dignified Crown Prince of Hong Kong has become her slave..."
Fu Sinian was casually playing with the lighter with his right fingertips, and the metal cover made a crisp "click" sound when it opened and closed.
He suddenly raised his eyes, his eyes were cold, but a sarcastic arc appeared at the corner of his lips.
"Fox spirit?" He repeated slowly, each word like it had been dipped into a cold pond. "I can't stand seeing others more beautiful than you, or more popular than you."
"Even if I can breathe more smoothly than you, do I have to be called a goblin?"
He held Gu Xiangsi's waist tighter, and his condescending shadow pressed down heavily on her: "But you, so angry..." He paused deliberately, and his eyes scraped her from head to toe like a cold blade, and sneered.
"I think it's a bit more comical than the snake that got pinched at the end of its length in the street vaudeville show."
"As for me, Fu Sinian, I am happy to be her slave..." His voice suddenly became low, and he spoke each word with an unquestionable sense of oppression.
"It's not your turn to comment yet."
Before Gu Xiangsi recovered from Fu Sinian's sharp tongue, she heard Li Xiaoyao's suppressed laughter beside her.
You don't need to look to know that the guy must have raised the corners of his mouth to his ears again, and he was probably praising Fu Sinian in his heart for making him feel better.
While she was stunned, Fu Sinian suddenly leaned over, his warm breath first fell on the tip of her ear, and then his lips gently rubbed her earlobe. The slightly itchy touch made her whole body stiffen.
"What do you want to do with it? It's up to you."
Fu Sinian lowered his voice so low that only the two of them could hear, "As for those people next to you, do you really not recognize them?"
Gu Xiangsi followed his gaze and was about to speak to identify them when those people suddenly panicked and struggled for mercy.
"Mr. Fu, please forgive us! I'm sorry, I'm so sorry! Five years ago... five years ago we almost hurt Miss Gu, but that wasn't our intention!"
"Yes...that lady forced us to do it!"
Gu Xiangsi's body, which was originally leaning in Fu Sinian's arms, suddenly stiffened. Her fingertips unconsciously clenched the fabric of his shirt on his chest, and her thin white knuckles turned blue due to the force.
Her long eyelashes trembled violently. She closed her eyes, and the dirty touch and suffocating fear of that night five years ago surged into her, making her stomach churn.
Fu Sinian noticed her subtle changes, held her tighter in his arms, and patted her back gently with his palm, his voice deep and steady.
"Don't be afraid. They will all pay a price. But this time, you have to face them head-on."
After saying that, he bent down, picked up the person horizontally, turned around and walked out of the factory, leaving behind a flurry of begging for mercy. Gu Xianglian was so scared that she curled up on the ground, not even daring to raise her head.
After they got into the car, Fu Sinian turned his head, reached out to hold Gu Xiangsi's hand, gently stroking her knuckles with his fingertips, and his tone softened.
"Can you tell me now? Why have you always disliked purple clothes?"
Gu Xiangsi was forced to meet his gaze, her Adam's apple moved, and her voice was very soft: "You forgot... the day we broke up, I was wearing purple clothes."
Fu Sinian's body stiffened, and his heart felt like it was pricked by an old thorn, and a dull pain spread.
It turned out to be because of what happened that year.
He took a deep breath in silence, then leaned closer, his eyes filled with a seriousness and apology he had never seen before: "I'm sorry."
This was the first time he said sorry to Gu Xiangsi so solemnly.
Fu Sinian held Gu Xiangsi's hand tightly, and even deliberately pressed his fingertips into the lines on her palm. His strength was so heavy that it seemed as if he wanted to embed her into his bones and blood, but his tone was steady enough to suppress all panic.
"I promise that from now on no one will dare to hurt you."
Gu Xiangsi bit her lower lip, her voice trembling and a little breathless: "But your mother, and your brother... How can there be a good outcome for us like this?"
"How is it impossible?"
Fu Sinian suddenly rubbed his thumb across the red corners of his eyes. The force was so light that it seemed like coaxing, but there was a coldness in his eyes, and even his words were filled with a hint of sarcasm.
"Do you think that I, Fu Sinian, have to consider other people's opinions even when protecting someone?"
He paused, "Do you still think that my mother and brother can stop me?"
He leaned forward, his breath almost falling on Gu Xiangsi's face, and his tone was full of arrogance mixed with a hint of allure.
"Do you dare to bet with me? I will hold up the sky if it falls."
"Just trust me."
"Mr. Fu, why don't you challenge me now?" Gu Xiangsi raised her eyes and met his.
Fu Sinian raised an eyebrow, a hint of mischief in his tone. He stretched out his long legs and turned 180 degrees, his knees almost touching Gu Xiangsi's legs. A sense of oppression mixed with a familiar breath hit him.
"Gu Xiangsi..." He chuckled softly, "Are you addicted to my scolding? You feel uncomfortable if you don't get a few words from me?"
Another light snort escaped from her nose. Fu Sinian stopped teasing her and reached into the backseat storage to take out a black folder.
"See for yourself."
He stuffed the folder into Gu Xiangsi's arms.
Gu Xiangsi opened the book in confusion. The more he looked, the darker his expression became. When he raised his eyes, they were full of surprise.
"How do you know all these things?"
"Your last name is Gu, and you are a relative of Gu Dong. Even though your father's affairs were deliberately suppressed."
Fu Sinian leaned back in his chair, tapping the seat nonchalantly with his fingertips, his tone full of self-righteous arrogance, even with a hint of venomous indifference.
"Who am I? How could I not be able to find out what I want to find out?"
The first few pages are all about investigating Gu Xiangsi's father and the clues about the accident that happened in her family's company.
Gu Xiangsi's fingertips tightened as she turned the pages one by one until the names of Chen Hui and Zhao Niesen popped up. Her heart sank as she continued reading.
The three words "Fu Xianhan" suddenly caught my eye.
His Adam's apple rolled, "My father."
"Perhaps he is also involved in what happened back then."
Fu Sinian twitched his lips, adding a hint of venom to his tone: "So you don't have to be too moved, Gu Xiangsi."
"I'm doing this partly to atone for my family's sins, and partly... I also want to understand why you left without saying anything back then."
He raised his eyes to look at Gu Xiangsi, his eyes hiding a hint of unspoken stubbornness.
"You still don't want to tell me the truth, right?"
