Chapter 123…Lovesickness, I’m sorry…

Chapter 123…Lovesickness, I’m sorry…

Cullinan always maintains a distance from the car in front.

Fu Sinian caught a glimpse of the person beside him. His beautiful eyes were full of curiosity and inquiry, like a kitten waiting for the answer to a mystery.

He couldn't help but curl the corners of his lips and comforted him softly: "Don't worry, you will know later."

After a pause, he added, "My mother always follows her heart and doesn't follow any rules, so we can only follow her now. If we wait until tomorrow, it will be difficult to find her."

Although Gu Xiangsi was full of confusion, she nodded in agreement and her gaze returned to the car in front.

About half an hour later, the two cars stopped halfway up the mountain.

Gu Xiangsi looked up and saw that the parking place was not Fu Sinian’s magnificent manor, but a two-and-a-half-story small house behind the manor. It looked warm and quiet, and seemed like a place suitable for retirement.

She turned to look at Fu Sinian, her eyes full of surprise: "Is your mother...really hiding a mistress here?"

Fu Sinian was amused by her straightforward words. He raised his hand and gently scratched the tip of her nose with a teasing tone.

"That's an apt word, but I can't really say whether she's delicate or not."

He held her hand and walked slowly along the green path, his fingertips gently stroking her palms, as if silently comforting her.

Li Xiaoyao behind him looked at his young master who was sneaking around but couldn't hide his nervousness.

While staring at his mother in front of him, he did not forget to hold his lover's hand tightly. He felt that the scene was both funny and unbearable to watch. He sighed helplessly, and hurried to catch up, silently keeping a distance to avoid disturbing the two of them.

On the first floor of a small Western-style building not far away, Zhou Wanrong raised her hand and knocked on the door. The door quickly opened from the inside. After she stepped sideways in, the door closed gently again.

Fu Sinian took Gu Xiangsi around the back garden of the small western-style building and came to an inconspicuous small door.

He raised his hand and pressed a few numbers on the combination lock. With a "click", the door lock opened.

"This house is actually mine too." He turned to look at Gu Xiangsi, his eyes half joking and half serious, "I originally wanted to hide you in this beautiful house."

He paused, "It's a pity that you were so cruel back then. You broke up with just one word."

Gu Xiangsi heard that he was going to bring up old matters, so she quickly reached out and tugged at his sleeve to change the subject.

"Don't talk about this anymore. I'll cook noodles for you when we get back."

"Okay." The disappointment in Fu Sinian's eyes was quickly replaced by a smile, and he agreed to what she said.

Seeing that he didn't insist on going over, Gu Xiangsi breathed a sigh of relief, raised her head and nodded her chin in the direction of the small western-style building, indicating that he should take a look inside first.

Fu Sinian and Gu Xiangsi walked lightly along the path, and finally stopped behind the pillar at the entrance.

This position is just right, avoiding the sight of people in the living room, while still being able to clearly see the two people sitting on the sofa.

The man had his back to them, looking a little tense. Zhou Wanrong sat on the edge of the sofa, leaning sideways towards him, her tone a little anxious.

"I told you, you absolutely cannot go out now!" Zhou Wanrong lowered her voice, her words full of seriousness. "The Chen and Zhao families, I asked my sisters to inquire about them these days, and they are all looking for you everywhere."

"Because you showed up in Lin Village a while ago, they've already spent a lot of energy searching for you. If I hadn't hidden you here, you would be..."

The words were not finished, but they were enough to make people understand the danger.

The man was silent for a few seconds, his voice a little hoarse and tired: "I know, thank you. But I can't hide forever. You know my company well, and I've been wronged."

"My subordinates have been framed, and some have already been imprisoned... I can't just stand by and watch them suffer in there."

When the man's voice floated over, Gu Xiangsi's heart trembled suddenly, and her whole body swayed, almost falling down.

Fu Sinian, who was beside her, was quick to reach out and hold her waist. The warmth from his palm helped her to stabilize her body.

"He, he is..." Gu Xiangsi's voice trembled, and she even stuttered a little. Her eyes were fixed on the man with his back to them, and her fingertips turned slightly white due to the force.

Fu Sinian followed her gaze, nodded gently, and lowered his voice to the lowest possible level: "It's your father."

Hearing these three words, Gu Xiangsi could no longer hold back her tears, which fell drop by drop on the back of his hand that was supporting her, with a burning temperature.

Fu Sinian's heart tightened, and a dull pain came over him. He even regretted bringing her here today.

He hadn't expected that the reunion would come in such a sudden way, causing her to suffer such an emotional shock.

But he also knew that some things could not be avoided, and she and her father had to face them.

The past entangled between his mother, him, Gu Xiangsi, and Gu's father will eventually need to be unraveled and resolved.

He sighed silently, raised his hand and gently wiped away the tears on Gu Xiangsi's cheeks. He signaled her with his eyes to stay calm first, and increased the strength of his fingertips, as if silently telling her that he was there.

Gu Xiangsi nodded vigorously, squeezing out a soft "hmm" from his throat.

She took several deep breaths, trying to calm her surging emotions. She raised her hand and pulled the corners of her mouth to relax her expression, but when she opened her mouth, her voice trembled uncontrollably.

She took a light step forward, and facing the familiar yet unfamiliar figure, she finally called out the name that had been hidden in her heart for too long: "Dad."

The man with his back to them shuddered violently and then froze in place, as if he couldn't believe his ears.

He slowly turned his head, and the moment his eyes fell on Gu Xiangsi's face, he froze there, his eyes turning red at a speed visible to the naked eye.

"Xiang..." He opened his mouth, his voice was so hoarse that it took him a long time to pronounce the name in full, "Xiangsi."

"Dad." Gu Xiangsi called again, and this time, the sob in his voice could no longer be hidden.

Fu Sinian quietly released his hand that was holding her, leaving her enough space.

Gu Xiangsi staggered forward a few steps and rushed in front of the man.

Gu Ye stood up, responded, and subconsciously stretched out his hand.

Gu Xiangsi threw herself into his arms, hugged him tightly, and burst into tears: "It's really you... It's really you! How could you hide for so long? Where have you been all these years?"

Her cry was heart-wrenching, and warm tears slid down her cheeks, soaking Gu Ye's shirt.

Gu Ye raised his hand stiffly, slowly hugged her back, and gently patted her back with his palm. There seemed to be something stuck in his throat, and he could only repeat it over and over again.

"I'm sorry... Xiangsi, I'm sorry..."
