Chapter 24024 I’ll bite her when I get back.

Chapter 24024 I’ll bite her when I get back.

In the conference room, the last round of discussion on the observation tower plan had just ended and the final plan was finalized.

After signing and stamping the document, the project leader smiled and said, "Fang Sheng's proposal is very good. We are looking forward to it. I'll be working hard on it from now on."

“It should be.”

This project is being managed by other members of Fang Sheng. Jiang Lin only came along at the request of her superiors to provide reference and control for the company.

As an indispensable key figure, she had a particularly strong presence in the whole venue and received considerable attention.

After the meeting, everyone sorted out the materials at hand, chatting and laughing with some light-hearted daily conversation.

Someone suddenly said, "Why is Mr. Ci's jaw injured?"

The pen in Jiang Lin's hand suddenly stopped, and her eyes subconsciously fell on the clear and handsome figure sitting at the seat.

Ciheng raised his eyes, and the scar on his chin was indeed eye-catching under the light.

He rubbed the scabbed wound with his fingertips and replied with a smile, "I accidentally scratched it."

"Boss Jiang?" A colleague saw Jiang Lin stunned in her seat and gently touched her shoulder. "It's time to go."

Jiang Lin finally came back to her senses, tightened her pen, stood up, and walked towards Ciheng. "I heard the food at Taihua is delicious, but I haven't tried it yet. Ah Heng, do you want to come with us?"

Ciheng walked out without turning around and replied calmly, "Sorry, I have an appointment."

Jiang Lin looked embarrassed for a moment, "Then maybe next time."

Seeing Jiang Lin's ears blush, Lu Fangyang's mind raced, "Boss Ci is recuperating lately, and meals are being delivered from home."

Not wanting to put others in a difficult position, he added, "If Mr. Jiang doesn't mind, I'll accompany him to the cafeteria."

Jiang Lin had no choice but to nod, "Then I'll have to trouble Mr. Lu."

The corridors on the floors were empty, as most people had gone to the staff cafeteria at this time.

The midday sun streamed into the president's office through the gaps in the blinds. As the door opened, Wen Zhenni tiptoed in with a bouquet of flowers.

Seeing her cautious look, Ci Heng found it funny, "You're not a thief, why are you being so cautious?"

"You forgot, I'm using Qiao Qianqian's identity. If it's exposed, your extramarital affair will be confirmed and will make headlines."

Wen Zhenni put down the bouquet in her arms, found a pair of scissors, cut the cellophane, and sorted out the branches.

She looked around but there were no containers to put flowers in.

"Is there a vase?" she asked.

The office is simply decorated, with few green plants or ornaments.

Ciheng was not very familiar with his office. "It should be in the lounge. Let's go look for it."

Wen Zhenni went to the lounge and actually found a white bone china vase.

Ciheng put out the food from the thermos lunch box, and she also trimmed the flower branches and placed them in the vase in a scattered manner.

The bouquet of purple bells, mixed with little swallowtails and white violets, looks very elegant in this white vase.

Ciheng was a little surprised, "Why did you think of buying flowers?"

“Looking at more beautiful things every day will make you feel better.”

Wen Zhenni picked the right angle and placed the vase on the coffee table. She took a look at it and was very satisfied with her masterpiece. "Isn't it beautiful?"

"Not bad." Ci Heng glanced at him casually, "Come and eat."

The aroma of spareribs filled the room. Wen Zhenni washed her hands and sat over, sniffing the aroma of the food. "They made a lot of delicious food again."

Ci Heng picked up the fish meat with chopsticks, picked up the tenderest piece and put it into her bowl. "Did you have a good day at work?"

Wen Zhenni bit into a piece of vegetarian goose roll and replied to him incoherently: "The workload this week is quite heavy, and I might have to work overtime. You can go home after get off work and ask Xiao Su to pick me up."

Ci Heng took a tissue and wiped the oil from her lips. "You did a good job as a temporary worker."

Wen Zhenni smiled lightly, "After all, I'm really getting paid to work, and if I don't do my job well, I'll get deducted."

Cows and horses must have the awareness of being cows and horses.

She scooped up a spoonful of crab paste tofu and held it to Ciheng's lips. "Honey, eat this. It's super delicious."

Ci Heng said helplessly, "In your eyes, what is not delicious?"

Wen Zhenni retorted, "I just don't like broccoli."

"I thought you accepted everything and weren't picky about food."

Ciheng teased her as usual, but still held the spoon and ate the spoonful of crab meat tofu.

**

The next day, Ciheng went on a business trip to North City, and Wen Zhenni returned to her daily routine of commuting to get off work.

There was not much vacation time left, so Qin Qing asked her how she felt about the script. She guiltily repeated it several times and assured her that there was no problem. However, she worked hard at night, burning the midnight oil, and was busier than the two years she had been performing.

The couple were busy with their own things, not to mention video calls, even the dialog box was silent for a long time.

It was Friday again. The company held a meeting in the afternoon, and the president's office had to work overtime for an extra hour.

Wen Zhenni typed the last word, saved and filed the form, rubbed her sore neck, and looked out the window at the dark dusk.

The city's neon lights flow silently, outlining the towering silhouettes of the CBD skyscrapers.

"Wow, it's late."

"I'm hungry. How about we go to that new Thai hot pot restaurant?"

"I went there yesterday, and I think it's half done. I'd rather go eat the goose stewed in an iron pot."

Colleagues who had finished their overtime work were packing up their things while excitedly discussing which restaurant to go to for dinner.

"Qianqian, do you want to join us?" Lucy asked Wen Zhenni.

It was time for dinner, but thinking about the script, Wen Zhenni refused cruelly, "There's still a little bit left to do, you guys go first."

"Okay." Lucy slung her bag over her shoulder and patted her shoulder. "Then we'll go first. You should come back early too."

Wen Zhenni: "Okay, bye."

A group of people left talking and laughing, and the office gradually became quiet.

Zhu Na, the last one to leave, suddenly stopped as she passed her workstation and asked mysteriously, "Qianqian, is the Panamera with license plate number 111ZN yours?"

She blinked. "I saw you park your car this morning."

Wen Zhenni paused her fingertips on the keyboard. Unable to deny it, she simply smiled faintly: "Well, I open it occasionally."

"Okay, I understand." Zhu Na didn't ask any more questions, but just smiled and waved to her.

Watching his colleague disappear at the door, Wen Zhenni leaned back in his chair and turned on the screen of his mobile phone. The WeChat dialog box was still stuck on the screen before he left for the business trip.

I don’t know if he is busy.

How about a polite greeting?

His fingertips hovered over the screen, and after hesitating for a few seconds, he decisively opened the dialog box.

[Honey, are you done? Have you eaten yet?]

After sending it, another emoticon of a panda making a heart shape was sent.

Five minutes passed, and the screen remained stubbornly dark, with no response.

Never mind, I guess he's busy.

She sighed softly and put her phone on the table out of boredom.

Let’s read the script for a while.

She took out the script from her bag, bit the pen, frowned at the densely packed Chinese characters, and began to worry about the long lines.

It wasn't until my stomach started to protest that I remembered I hadn't eaten dinner.

I opened the food delivery app and scrolled through the tempting pictures of delicious food, but it didn’t arouse my appetite at all.

I don’t have anything special to eat, so I’ll just order a cup of hot milk tea to warm my stomach.

After placing the order, she suddenly remembered that the president's office had not been cleaned for several days.

By now, most of the company's departments had left, and the entire building was shrouded in silence. On the 88th floor, it was so quiet that one could hear one's own breathing.

Pushing open the glass door, the wind from the corridor was brought in. The bunch of purple bell flowers on the desk had shriveled and withered. The petals trembled slightly, and fell down when the wind blew.

She threw the flowers into the trash can and waited for the cleaning lady to collect them.

After cleaning, I went back to the president's office and the takeaway had just arrived.

After drinking half a cup of milk tea, I lay on the table and flipped through the script boredly for a while. My eyelids became heavier and heavier, as if they were weighed down by lead, and they were fighting uncontrollably.

I'm so sleepy, I'll just take a nap for a few minutes and then go home.

As a result, I slept so deeply that I fell asleep and missed several calls.

No one answered the phone, so Ciheng asked someone to check the surveillance footage and confirmed that she was in the office, so she drove directly back to the company from the airport.

When he came over, the president's office was pitch black, except for Wen Zhenni's workstation, which was shrouded in a halo of light.

Having just returned from a long journey, the man had a hint of fatigue between his brows. He pinched his forehead and his eyes fell on the figure sleeping at the desk.

The unfinished milk tea was completely cold, and there was a half-eaten matcha croissant next to it.

Wen Zhenni rested her face on the unfolded script. The air conditioner blew up the loose hair on her temples. A strand of hair stuck to her lips, rising and falling with her breathing.

"You can sleep anywhere."

Ciheng's tone was helpless. Her fingertips touched the red mark on her cheek. The person in his sleep murmured softly and turned his head to change direction.

The pen rolled down from her loosened fingers, and Ciheng reached out to catch it in time, put it back into the pen holder, and helped her tidy up the messy desk.

When the palm covered her shoulder again, Wen Zhenni's long eyelashes trembled, her eyebrows unconsciously bulged, and then her eyelids struggled to open a gap.

Her vision went from hazy to clear, and with the confusion of someone just waking up, she asked, "Husband?"

In the cold air pouring in from the vent, Wen Zhenni rubbed her eyes, suspecting that she was hallucinating, otherwise how could she see Ciheng.

"Go home and sleep again."

Ciheng helped her pack the script, picked up her bag, and walked out with her long legs.

"Why did you come back tonight?" Wen Zhenni quickly stood up and trotted to catch up.

The man didn't pause or look back, "You weren't the one who sent me a message asking me to come back."

Ah, when did it happen?

He couldn't be talking about that WeChat message, right?

"...Um." She sent a message just to say hello, how could he understand it as urging him to go home?

But even though it was her polite greeting, he didn't even give a polite reply.

"Dog man."

Wen Zhenni grumbled quietly, and the man in front suddenly turned around and asked, "What are you mumbling about?"

Wen Zhenni waved her hands guiltily, "I didn't say anything."

Ciheng narrowed his eyes and did not expose her for cursing him behind his back.

The elevator door slid open in front of them. He pressed the door open button. Seeing that she was still hesitating, a trace of helplessness flashed across his brows. "What are you daydreaming about? Come in."

"Oh, okay." Wen Zhenni hurried into the elevator like a frightened rabbit.

The elevator door slowly closed and the numbers began to tick. Suddenly, the man who had looked calm and composed before grabbed her wrist and pulled her into his arms domineeringly.

Wen Zhenni looked up in horror and met a pair of dark eyes.

It was no longer quiet there, but was filled with scorching heat, brewing a violent undercurrent.

"You..." The exclamation just escaped her lips when it was blocked back.

Ciheng didn't give her any time to react. He held her wrist tightly and with his other hand, he grasped the back of her neck and pressed her against the elevator wall with almost brutal force.

His back hit the hard car, causing a dull pain, but the even stronger impact came from the lips that covered him.

His breath was so hot that it forcefully pried open her teeth that were slightly parted due to shock. The hot breath instantly overwhelmed her and domineeringly dispelled the little air in her lungs.

...This man came back and started eating her.
