Are you baby?

Are you baby?

The filming in the scenic area was all finished, and the crew gave everyone a day off. They asked everyone to get up at four in the morning to catch the train, a three-hour train ride, and then a seven-hour bus ride. They finally arrived at the last filming location at around six in the evening, which meant they had used up the day off.

Lu Xinyang had never been to such a remote mountain village in his life. He was extremely tired, but everything he saw seemed new to him.

They were walking on the same dirt road as the cows and chickens. On the side of the road were low hills, wild trees and gray self-built houses. An old lady moved a stool and sat at the door of her house to peel corn. She had a small knife in her hand and a large gray aluminum basin at her feet, with a plastic basket in the basin.

My mother-in-law grabbed the corn cob, used her thumb to press the back of the knife, and scraped off the corn kernels in a few strokes. She scraped off several cobs in a row, then took out the plastic basket, took the big basin, and tossed it with practiced skill. All the corn kernels went into the small basket, and the crumbs were sifted out.

The old hen strolling beside her came over to peck at the food when she heard the sound. Lu Xinyang had never seen this before, so he also came over to take a look, and scared the hen away again.

Grandma noticed him at this point and greeted him warmly, "Oh, you're so handsome, young man! We knew some actors from a TV series were going to stay with us. You guys are the ones, right?"

Lu Xinyang nodded, and his mother-in-law smiled and said, "I've been waiting for a long time! Your colleagues arrived so early and set up that platform. It looks so beautiful. Come on, come on, everyone, come in. My house is very comfortable to live in. The upstairs is newly built."

She picked up the corn basket, wiped her hands on her apron, and turned to lead the group inside. Lu Xinyang glanced back inquiringly, and Ji Rongyu and Tang Lin both nodded. She couldn't walk any further, and seeing that this house had small pink tiles on the exterior, it was one of the brighter two-story houses in the village, so she decided to go with it.

The three of them dragged their luggage in and saw a big, shiny light bulb hanging from the beam wrapped with electrical wires. A dustpan was hung next to the bulb. A green wooden door with cracked paint was open, and there was a large bunk bed at the back.

Going up the stairs, I found an iron hook jutting out from the ceiling of the second-floor living room, a lightbulb hanging casually from it by a wire. The piles of things on the floor were a bit messy, but the two empty rooms contained only a bed, a table, chairs, and a tent-like wardrobe.

Tang Lin took a look, then turned around and went downstairs with his luggage: "That's perfect. You two can each have a room, and I'll sleep downstairs."

Ji Rongyu was about to say something when he added, "If there aren't enough rooms, we might have to squeeze a few more people in downstairs, and then I'll have company."

Ji Rongyu changed his mind when he heard it: "Then I'll sleep on the left side. I'll put the food away and we'll go eat together later."

Tang Lin dragged his voice away: "I'm not going. I'm too sleepy. I'll take a nap first. There's still bread in the box. I can eat some whenever I wake up."

While they were talking, Lu Xinyang had already entered the house with their luggage.

The second floor was probably added on to the original house, and there was a small, wide, round TV placed there. However, a large piece of the balcony window was broken, and a lot of moss had grown on the unevenly painted white walls.

Lu Xinyang told Ji Rongyu to be careful not to touch the glass, but Ji Rongyu just leaned over and looked down. The kitchen was built separately outside and burned wood. The walls were all blackened by the smoke. A big black dog was tied in the woodshed next to it.

After finishing the tour, Ji Rongyu returned to the house, put the suitcase down, opened a crack as usual, and then closed it immediately.

He didn't want to take out his things in this environment, so he simply put the box against the wall, temporarily put his backpack on top, then rolled up his sleeves and started cleaning.

Lu Xinyang sat down on the edge of the bed and was about to reach for the small bread in his pocket, but when he saw Ji Rongyu's attitude, he stood up and looked around for a rag.

"What are you doing?" Ji Rongyu didn't really have any questions, but just reminded him, "That's your room."

Lu Xinyang said, "Let me sleep in the same room with you. I'll keep you company."

"I don't want company."

"If you want it," Lu Xinyang moved his suitcase over and placed it next to Ji Rongyu's, "I'm a great companion."

Ji Rongyu shut up, dug a mask out of his backpack and put it on. He was too tired to engage in verbal banter with Lu Xinyang.

As soon as the two of them started to clean the house, the mother-in-law brought up a brazier from downstairs and asked them to warm themselves by the fire. She also told them to use whatever they wanted and pointed out the unopened packages in the living room to them.

"I bought all these online, but many people don't know how to use them. I know how to use them! I'm not old-fashioned!" As the mother-in-law said this, she unscrewed two express packages from the pile of junk against the wall and asked Lu Xinyang to open them. She found a three-compartment bathroom storage rack and a clip-on bedside lamp, which she used immediately.

My mother-in-law said happily, "That's right, I said I bought a good one."

Probably because she felt that she had entertained them both, the mother-in-law rushed downstairs again. Lu Xinyang heard her say that she was going to feed the chickens and cook, and also heard the cries of the geese swaying around downstairs. He felt even hungrier, so he hurriedly wiped the table diligently, and after that he carried Ji Rongyu's suitcase upstairs first.

But when he turned around, he saw that Ji Rongyu, who was wiping the bed frame next to him, didn't even take a bucket of water, but ran to wash the rag again and again.

"Why not use a bucket?" Lu Xinyang remembered that there were two in the bathroom.

"The barrel is broken." said Ji Rongyu.

"And the other one?"

"It was filled with bottles and jars."

Lu Xinyang blinked doubtfully: "Then why not just put the stuff in the bad bucket?"

Ji Rongyu was stunned.

He threw the rag to Lu Xinyang, pressed his eyes with his wrist, and wondered if he was too tired.

"Don't be too ashamed," Lu Xinyang quickly comforted him, "It's normal for you to be dumber than me occasionally."

"Then go get some water, and do it smartly," Ji Rongyu said in a muffled voice, "I'm going to mop the floor."

"Yeah." Lu Xinyang reached out and took off the mask on his face and put it on himself. Ji Rongyu said, "I have another one in my bag."

"This will do." Lu Xinyang went to get a bucket of water and brought it over. He felt that the light outside was getting darker and darker, and there was only one light bulb in the room. After turning on the light, wherever he walked, a shadow would cover the area, making it difficult for him to see clearly.

He walked around the room again, then took down the small table lamp that had just been placed on the bedside table, bent the hose connected to the lamp head, and hung it around his neck.

This look is very wonderful. Now he spreads his glory wherever he goes.

"See, I told you it wasn't a disadvantage to keep me as your companion! I'm the brightest thing in this family again!" Lu Xinyang followed proudly and helped Ji Rongyu with the lighting. "I'm a big star! Ha!"

He was really useful, so Ji Rongyu endured it.

By the time they were done packing, it was completely dark outside and they were so hungry they were losing consciousness. Ji Rongyu remade the bed with his own sheets and quilt. Lu Xinyang also bypassed the snacks in the box and only took out their daily necessities, putting them in the right places.

At this time, the mother-in-law came up with a carton of charcoal and asked if they had eaten. "You can eat at our house, just give us some food allowance, but your boss has hired a family to cook for you. It's free to eat there, and the food tastes better there."

"Yu Han said in the group that I treated them to curry last time, and she's treating us tonight," Lu Xinyang glanced at his phone. "She said the noodles made by that auntie are really delicious, and there's always soup boiling in the pot, so we can eat them after we wake up."

"Then let's go over there, just to find our way." Ji Rongyu said.

The mother-in-law said she would show them the way, but as she did so, she led them out, chatting happily: "Xiao Zheng is famous over there again, right? Oh, I knew it! She and her daughter-in-law are very capable!"

As the two listened to the mother-in-law's words, they realized they had gotten a good deal. Because the crew was large and everyone had a wide variety of tastes, many of the first group of people who came to build the set were not used to the village food, so they took turns giving suggestions to the aunt in charge of cooking.

The aunt is very dedicated to her job. After listening to the instructions, she can immediately cook the food to about 70% of its taste. She quickly takes care of all the ingredients. Now, when the second group comes, they can pick and choose from the menu on the blackboard.

"What to eat?" Lu Xinyang asked.

Ji Rongyu glanced at it casually and said: "Just eat noodles." He was too sleepy to be picky about food. He just wanted to finish his meal quickly and go back to sleep.

When the mother-in-law heard this, she served them two bowls of noodles without waiting for the aunt in the kitchen to come out. The two of them started eating voraciously, and the mother-in-law sat down to chat with them.

When they were full and about to go back, my mother-in-law looked a little regretful, probably because she didn't talk enough.

"Oh, Xiao Zheng's place is the busiest right now. There are so many people. Your colleagues all say it's delicious," Grandma said proudly, rubbing her hands together. "She even bought the vegetables she cooked from us. I even sold them a basket of eggs from my chickens yesterday."

"Then we are in the same business, mother-in-law. I have also raised chickens," said Lu Xinyang.

Ji Rongyu glanced at him: "...When did you raise it?"

Are you talking about no spots and black spots? It's obviously my grandfather who is raising it.

"The B&Bs and local restaurants near the scenic area, as well as local farmers, all raise chickens, and I've fed them myself," Lu Xinyang said proudly. "The chickens I feed all lay double-yolk eggs!"

"Oh," the mother-in-law gave him a thumbs-up, and then added, "This egg from our family is also very good, well-bred and well-produced. It's the first egg laid by our old hen!"

"Oh, the eldest son's egg," Lu Xinyang said, "that's very classy!"

"Yes!"

"Then I'll help you feed the chickens when I'm free. I want to build a relationship with them." Lu Xinyang was full now, and his energy was back. He walked towards the chicken coop, "I'm free now!"

"Ouch!" The mother-in-law stood up straight and chased after him with her eyes wide open.

Ji Rongyu was rubbing his belly slowly beside him. After thinking about it, he decided not to call him.

Anyone who knows a little about raising chickens doesn't like double-yolked eggs because they are large and can easily injure the chicken's butt.

Sure enough, he came back after a while. It seemed that he hadn't succeeded in feeding the chickens, but he didn't look disappointed. Instead, his expression became even more beautiful: "Hey, mother-in-law just asked me for advice on how to make double-yolk eggs, and then she didn't let me feed the chickens anymore. She said she wanted to study it herself and discuss it with the chickens."

Ji Rongyu nodded twice, and as expected, he was sent back. However, his mother-in-law found a good excuse. Now, both the chicken's butt and Lu Xinyang's pride were protected.

The two went upstairs to take a shower and rest. There was only one bathroom, so Ji Rongyu used it first. He wanted to wash his face and brush his teeth at the same time, but he couldn't find his toothbrush and cup on the table.

"Lu Xinyang," he shouted, "where did you put my toothbrush?"

"At grandma's place," Lu Xinyang said, "you'll see it when you go in."

"ah?"

Ji Rongyu was dragged to the bathroom in confusion. Lu Xinyang pointed to the shelf on the wall and showed it to him. There was a smiley face sticker on each of the three empty spaces on the shelf, with words written on them: Grandpa's, Grandma's, and Baby's.

Ji Rongyu's cup and toothbrush are with grandma.

Lu Xinyang's toothpaste and toothbrush occupied the treasure section.

Ji Rongyu was silent for a while, then looked at him and said, "Are you baby?"

"I can do anything," Lu Xinyang said cheerfully, "I can be a grandfather too."

"I don't care who you are!" Ji Rongyu took a deep breath, "Forget it, get out."

He took down his toothbrush cup and simply placed it on the sink, then went into the bathroom wrapped in a bath towel.

The next second, he opened the door again and came out, bringing the toothbrush and cup in while glaring at Lu Xinyang.

That look made Lu Xinyang think for a long time. Even after he finished taking a shower, he didn't dare to come out. He just stayed naked in the bathroom to try to figure out Ji Rongyu's intentions.

Finally, he concluded that Ji Rongyu might be angry that he did not put him in the right place, so Lu Xinyang carefully pushed the door open and considerately moved Ji Rongyu's cup to the treasure.

In this way, he felt that he knew his mistakes and was able to correct them, which was a great virtue. Wrapped in a bath towel, he carefully stepped over the brazier and returned to the room. He lifted the quilt and lay down next to Ji Rongyu and fell asleep comfortably.

When he woke up the next morning, Ji Rongyu saw his cup resting on Lu Xinyang's cup, and his toothbrush was also very close to his toothbrush.

Ji Rongyu: “…………”

ah--! ! ! !

It's so annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
