Chapter 90 Amnesia
When Wen Song and Duan Ze arrived at the operating room floor, Guan Ming and Lu Qing, who were sitting quietly waiting at the door, turned their gazes to them upon hearing the footsteps.
"Uncle Guan, Uncle Lu, how is A-Sui doing now?" Duan Ze took the initiative to ask.
Lu Qing had clearly been crying. Guan Ming half-held her in his arms. The latter was visibly more composed despite his grief, saying, "She's been inside for over an hour and hasn't come out yet. We don't know the specifics of what's going on."
Duan said with a heavy heart, "It will be alright."
Wen Song was unsure whether she should go up and say hello.
I really didn't expect that instead of going to the Guan family's house for dinner tonight to meet their parents, I would end up meeting them outside the operating room at the hospital.
He looked up at the cold, hard words “Operation in Progress”. A dull ache in his chest threatened to strangle him, making it hard to breathe, as if he would suffocate and die at any moment.
My usually stable emotions began to crumble at this moment.
Suddenly, someone walked up to him and offered a word of comfort:
"Child, don't worry."
Wen Song turned her head and saw that it was Lu Qing.
At a glance, it was clear that the other person was Guan Ju's Beta father, as the two had somewhat similar facial features.
As for Guan Ming, it's obvious that he doesn't like him very much.
That's understandable.
Guan Ming is an Alpha elder with high position and strong desire for control. It is normal for him to feel resentful that his son, on whom he placed his hopes, is now in the operating room in a life-or-death situation because he went to see his boyfriend whom he did not approve of.
Everyone has a different personality and perspective. We can understand that, but we cannot allow ourselves to be insulted or wronged.
"I'm sorry." Wen Song didn't know what to say.
Lu Qing reached out and hugged the person, patting their shoulder like she was comforting a child, "Don't blame yourself, it has nothing to do with you."
At this moment, Wen Song could no longer hold back her tears.
But he didn't cry for long; he stopped after two minutes, not wanting to pass on his sadness to Lu Qing. Because Guan Ju was his son, the one present was probably the most heartbroken.
Guan Ming's face was very ugly, and he swallowed the words of blame that were about to come out of his mouth.
Finally, he silently turned around and walked to the corner, afraid that saying a few more words would cause chaos.
I waited for another two hours.
finally---
The lights during surgery changed.
Wen Song's heart, which had been pounding in his chest, suddenly leaped into his throat.
Upon seeing this, Duan immediately stepped forward and asked, "Doctor, how is my friend doing now?"
As the doctor walked out, he took off his mask: "The patient is now out of danger and is under observation. His head suffered a severe impact during the car accident, and it may take 3-7 days for him to regain consciousness."
"but---"
After a pause, he said, "The patient's pheromones are quite disordered due to the car accident. There is a hospital abroad with more complete equipment, which will be more conducive to the patient's rest and recovery."
After saying this, he nodded slightly and walked away.
Hearing that they were out of danger, the people present breathed a sigh of relief.
Wen Song felt as if he had been rescued, and his breathing gradually returned to normal.
At this moment, two nurses wheeled Guan Ju, who had just been rescued, out of the operating room. Knowing that she was not in a good condition to make noise and disturb her rest, they all held their breath and craned their necks to get a better look.
Guan Ju lay there with her eyes tightly closed, her lips deathly pale, her breathing weak, her cheekbones slightly thin, her usual radiance gone, her face devoid of color, so weak that it appeared sickly white.
This made Wen Song's heart ache.
After Guan Ju was wheeled into the ward by the nurses, the others were stopped at the door and could not go in yet.
"The patient is very weak and needs a quiet environment, so visits are not allowed at this time," the nurse said. "We ask for the cooperation of family members."
Duan nodded: "Okay."
It was already quite late, so Duan decided to take Guan Ming and Lu Qing back first.
As for Wen Song—
“I’m staying at the hospital tonight,” he said, standing to the side.
Duan knew that Wen Song's maternal grandmother was being treated at this hospital and understood that she had probably come to spend New Year's Day with her family. He never expected to encounter such an absurd and unacceptable situation.
"Okay," Duan replied and got down.
Lu Qing didn't want to leave and wanted to stay in the hospital, but Guan Ming disagreed.
Considering that Guan Ju wouldn't be fully awake for a while, they had no choice but to go home with the Alpha.
After Duan Ze saw Guan Ming and Lu Qing off, only Wen Song was left at the door of the ward.
He stood at the doorway, looking through a glass window at the Alpha lying quietly in the hospital bed.
This morning, Alpha was full of life, but now he lies sickly in a hospital bed, having just returned from the brink of death. The beeping of the medical equipment is like a gentle tapping on Wen Song's heart.
“Guan Ju…” he couldn’t help but murmur softly.
"Grandma and I are still waiting for you to eat dumplings."
Unfortunately, Guan Ju couldn't hear these words at all; the only response he received was the beating of the instruments.
To avoid worrying her grandmother, Wen Song went back to tell her first, and then took a small blanket and lay down on the bench in front of the ward.
In the past few days, Lu Qing and others have frequently come to check on Guan Ju to see if he has woken up.
They started to get worried when their child didn't wake up on the first and second days. Even though they knew the doctor said 3-7 days, that was just a mild estimate. If the child didn't wake up after seven days, it might take even longer.
The doctor then said, "If you are still worried, I suggest that you send her abroad for treatment."
Lu Qing and Guan Ming then began discussing how to take the person abroad for recuperation.
Song Lanxue was also preparing for surgery, and Wen Song was running back and forth between the two places, spending most of her time with her grandmother, because Guan Sui was being taken care of by Lu Qing and others, waiting for her to wake up.
Grandma had nothing but him.
On the morning Song Lanxue was taken into the operating room, Wen Song could tell that she was very nervous, so he comforted her, "Just think of it as taking a nap, and you'll be healthy when you wake up."
Song Lanxue held Wen Song's hand, looking at his increasingly gaunt face.
"good."
"I'll wait for you outside," Wen Song said, watching Song Lanxue being wheeled into the operating room.
Sitting on the bench outside, time seemed to stretch out, making it incredibly difficult to pass.
Suddenly, Wen Song received a call from Duan Ze. As soon as she answered, she heard him say, "Wen Song, A Sui has woken up."
Upon hearing this, Wen Song felt as if an invisible hand was gripping his heart tightly.
He stood up excitedly, but before he could show any joy, he heard Duan Ze say, "But he... seems to have lost his memory."
"The people around you have vague memories; it seems they don't remember you either."
Wen Song held his breath.
After a long pause, he finally managed to say, "It's good that you're awake."
Duan Ze: "Uncle Guan is now preparing to send him to a hospital abroad for treatment and recuperation. Do you want to come and see Ah Sui?"
Wen Song pursed her lips.
"I can't leave."
Song Lanxue is currently in the operating room, and as her only relative, he cannot leave.
Duan remained silent.
Knowing full well Wen Song's current predicament, he could only sigh silently.
After hanging up the phone, Wen Song let her hands hang limply, sitting on the bench feeling somewhat helpless.
He didn't know that this parting would be their last three years.
