Chapter 123 I'm with Guan Ju
Wen Song wrapped her arms around the Alpha's waist, buried her head in his chest, and was held in his arms with his arms around her shoulders.
Listening to the rhythmic beating of my heart, so vibrant and powerful, it felt as if it were piercing my eardrums through my chest.
After an unknown amount of time, the palpitations in Wen Song's heart gradually subsided and calmed down. The pheromones emanating from the Alpha had a faint scent, yet they gave people a sense of reassurance.
"Knock knock—"
Just then, a knock on the ward door broke the warmth of the moment.
Upon hearing this, Wen Song's lips moved slightly as he gently inhaled the pheromones emanating from the Alpha, reluctantly leaving his embrace.
Just as I straightened up and created some distance, the door was opened from the outside.
Duan Ze breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing that the two were dressed neatly, and moved half a step to the side of the gap.
“Ah Sui”.
"The doctor will come to see you and do some tests on the way."
Wen Song then realized that he had been so happy and excited that he had completely forgotten that Guan Ju was, in a sense, a "patient".
Alpha has regained his memories!
However, the specific method of restoration is currently unknown.
I'm worried that something might have happened that directly triggered the Alpha, and that the Alpha's physical reaction might be a bit severe since they're admitted to the hospital.
"I'm fine." Guan Ju noticed the worry in Wen Song's eyes.
The three simple words seemed to possess a magical power, calming the tension that was about to rise in Wen Song's heart.
Alpha's statement that everything is fine proves that there is indeed nothing seriously wrong.
"Let the doctor in," Guan Sui said to Duan Ze at the door.
Upon hearing this, Duan made way for the doctor outside, tilting his chin up to signal him to come in.
A quiet environment was needed for the examination, so Wen Song followed Duan Ze to wait outside the ward for the time being.
The two stood outside in the corridor, staring at the closed ward door. Wen Song asked, "How did Guan Ju come up with this idea?"
Duan was bewildered. "I don't know either..."
He had just carefully examined Guan Ju's head, face, and limbs and found no abrasions. It was obvious that he had not been in a car accident, fallen, or otherwise hit his head, thus recovering all his memories.
so---
Something must have triggered it.
“It’s good that you can remember,” Duan comforted. “I just didn’t expect you to remember so soon after returning to China. I thought it would take another three years to slowly recover.”
Wen Song nodded.
If it was triggered by something, it's probably related to him, since most of the other person's lost memories are about him.
There are only two things that could provoke Guan Ju: discovering his marital status and the ring.
Wen Song has no way of knowing which specific item it was.
The two waited outside the ward for nearly half an hour before the door finally opened.
As soon as Duan entered, he asked, "Doctor, how is my friend?"
Guan Ju's gaze remained fixed on Wen Song from the moment he entered the ward, never wavering.
Wen Song glanced at the Alpha who had taken off his shoes and was lying on the hospital bed. When he heard Duan Ze ask a question, he looked at the doctor nervously and curiously, waiting quietly for the answer.
“There’s nothing wrong,” the doctor said, looking at the report in his hand. “All the indicators are healthy, the pheromones are stable, and the physical examination showed no major problems.”
Duan Ze: "If I didn't hit my head, how could I suddenly regain my memories..."
Guan Ju lay on the hospital bed with a cold expression.
The doctor adjusted his glasses and said, "It's not necessarily necessary to hit your head to regain memories. According to Mr. Guan, three years after the car accident, his lost memories have been slowly recovering without any logic or specific events. Sometimes he would wake up from a nap and find that a small piece of his memory had been restored."
"This suggests that the amnesia is related to physical recovery and pheromones. In addition, instructions were given before the incident."
Wen Song asked, puzzled, "What is an instruction?"
The doctor explained, "The brain has two protective mechanisms: one is to forget unpleasant memories; the other is to protect important memories. Unless a specific person, object, or situation reappears, the memory will remain sealed."
Wen Song and Duan Ze immediately understood.
It's obvious.
Guan Ju is a way to protect and preserve this memory.
No one knows what Alpha was thinking a minute before the car accident, but it was definitely related to Wen Song.
“Oh…” Duan Ze nodded.
Wen Song said to the doctor, "Thank you."
The doctor waved his hand, saying that hospitalization was not necessary, and after giving a few more brief instructions, he left.
"Wow," Duan Ze came to the bedside, watching Guan Sui get out of bed, put on her shoes, and cross her arms. "What triggered Guan Sui to regain her memories?"
Guan Ju remained calm and did not answer her friend's question.
"I'm so curious," Duan said in a cheeky tone.
"Could it be because she's jealous of Wen Song's so-called husband—?"
With a broad smile on his face, there was a strange sense of satisfaction in exposing Alpha's dark past in front of the two parties involved.
If you can ignore the chilly feeling on the back of your neck and spine.
Wen Song: ""
Duan was clearly teasing Guan Ju, but he seemed a little embarrassed.
Perhaps he was involved.
“No one will think you’re mute if you don’t speak,” Guan Ju said calmly. “Won’t Wen Xu find you annoying?”
"oh."
"They probably don't find you annoying, because you never say a word in front of Wen Xu. Otherwise, you two wouldn't have liked each other for so many years but never got together. If it weren't for Wen Xu's little trick, you might not be the groom at the wedding in a while, but the best man."
The last two words were deliberately pronounced with extreme emphasis.
Duan Ze: "............?"
The two brothers were practically rubbing salt into each other's wounds.
He said, "Didn't we agree to be each other's angels?"
Guan Ju: "Don't get involved."
Wen Song: ".........."
How childish of two Alphas.
I never knew they had this side to them.
Duan shrugged, not wanting to continue being a third wheel for the long-separated young couple. He'd rather go home and cuddle with his cat, King Ou.
"I'm leaving."
"You two can take your time catching up."
Before leaving, he still had to make a sarcastic remark, "Let's have a good chat about what you really think about poaching someone from your partner for the second time."
Before Guan Ju's piercing gaze could strike, Duan Ze quickly slipped away without the slightest hesitation.
Guan Ju and Wen Song were left alone in the ward.
"us---"
Wen Song asked, "Should we leave the hospital and go home first?"
Guan Ju gazed at the Beta before her, a figure that overlapped with her memories, as if they hadn't seen each other for a long time, and longing surged in her chest.
"good."
They left the ward side by side, took the elevator downstairs, and arrived at the parking lot.
The two walked together to the Maybach. Assistant Zhou, who was in the driver's seat, got out to help open the door when he heard footsteps.
Originally, Assistant Zhou was supposed to conduct the inspection with Guan Sui, but the latter made him stay in the car. As a subordinate, he naturally obeyed his boss's orders.
Guan Ju turned to Wen Song and asked, "How did you get to the hospital?"
“I drove here.” Wen Song took out his car keys.
Guan Ju nodded: "Give me the key."
Wen Song obediently handed the car keys in his hand to Alpha.
Guan Sui handed the car keys to Assistant Zhou: "Please drive the car back."
Wen Song understood immediately and took out her phone. "I'll send you the address of my apartment complex. As for the car keys, you can knock on the door; my grandma is home."
"If she asks, just say—"
He paused for a moment, then said, slowly and deliberately, "I'm with Guan Sui."
