My Alpha

My Alpha

Shao Wei rested his forehead against Si Qi's shoulder. The subtle trembling and icy warmth felt like needles piercing Si Qi's heart. He tightened his arms, using his warm chest and steady heartbeat to soothe the uneasy feeling of the person in his arms. His pheromones, like the toughest and softest silk, enveloped Shao Wei layer by layer, isolating him from all the cold and fear from the outside world.

"Don't be afraid," Si Qi's voice was low and firm, and every word carried an unquestionable power. "I won't let that happen. Absolutely not."

Shao Wei did not respond, but buried his head deeper into his neck, breathing in the reassuring sandalwood scent from him. His tense nerves, which seemed like they would break at any time, relaxed little by little in this solid embrace and warm pheromones.

The two of them stood in front of the cold window, hugging each other until Shao Wei's body stopped trembling and his breathing became even and long. Si Qi carefully carried him back to bed, tucked in the corners of the quilt, and lay down beside him with his clothes on, holding his hand all the time, not daring to fall asleep again.

In the second half of the night, Shao Wei slept soundly, as if Si Qi's vows had dispelled the haze of his nightmares. But Si Qi stayed awake until dawn. Shao Wei's words, "What if we still have to separate in the end?" echoed in his mind like a curse, stirring not fear but a colder, more determined murderous intent.

Gao Lan. "The Watcher." All those who seek to harm Shao Wei, and to drive them apart, must be completely crushed.

At daybreak, Si Qi quietly rose. Dr. Chen was already waiting at the crude operating table, his face grave.

"There's movement." Dr. Chen pulled up the encrypted communication logs. "The bait we threw out worked. A highly encrypted signal source is attempting to reverse-trace and contact us through the loophole we reserved. Analysis of the signal characteristics shows that the source doesn't belong to Gao Lan's faction, but is more like... the 'Elders' Council'."

Si Qi's eyes instantly became as sharp as a hawk: "Are you sure?"

"Eighty percent certain. They're very cautious, using a one-time node. The information they're transmitting is also heavily encrypted. There's only one sentence: 'Those seeking the truth must produce proof.'" Dr. Chen looked at Si Qi. "They're testing us, and they're also asking for stronger evidence."

Credentials? Naturally, they refer to the core content of Pandora.

Si Qi was silent for a moment, a cold calculation flashing in his eyes. "Give it to them. But not what they want. Cut out a small portion of the casualties and funding flows from Gao Lan's illegal experiment three years ago. It should be shocking enough, but not enough to give them all the leverage they need to bring down Gao Lan immediately."

He wanted to keep the "Presbyterian Church" hanging, making them see the value of cooperation, while maintaining sufficient deterrence and initiative, and certainly not revealing all his cards at once.

Dr. Chen immediately understood his intention: "The risk is that if the 'Presbyterian Church' is not united, or if they choose to temporarily compromise with Gao Lan..."

"Then let them disappear together." Si Qi's voice was eerily calm, yet it contained a raging storm. For Shao Wei, he didn't mind making the whole world his enemy.

The message was carefully edited and sent out according to Siqi's instructions.

The next two days were filled with an even more anxious wait. The other party disappeared without a trace, as if a stone had fallen from the sea. The atmosphere within the safe haven was oppressive, like the silence before a storm.

Thanks to Siqi's meticulous care and regular pheromone therapy, Shao Wei's body recovered rapidly. The redness and swelling of his glands had largely subsided. While still fragile and unable to function, the persistent dull pain had disappeared. His complexion had become much more rosy, and he was even able to walk slowly around the room for a while.

He was keenly aware of the tense, undercurrents between Siqi and Dr. Chen, but he didn't ask anything, only becoming quieter. Sometimes when Siqi's brow furrowed in thought, he would silently offer him a glass of warm water, or pick up a half-read book and sit quietly beside him.

This silent companionship, like a kind of tacit approval and support, gave Siqi great comfort and strength.

Late at night on the third day, just as Si Qi finished a deep pheromone combing session which was a bit burdensome for Shao Wei (Shao Wei fell asleep exhausted), the receiver on Dr. Chen's side suddenly emitted a very slight beeping sound of a specific frequency.

Here we come!

Si Qi immediately walked to the operating table.

The new secret letter, after being cracked, only contains one line of text and a coordinate:

"Tomorrow evening at 10 o'clock, coordinates. I will come alone. Inspect the goods and hand them over."

The coordinates were located at a long-abandoned freight station on the edge of the mountains. The terrain was complex, making ambushes easy and escapes easy. The words "hand over the person" were even more meaningful - was it "Pandora" or... Shao Wei?

Si Qi's eyes froze instantly.

"The probability of this being a trap is over 70%," Dr. Chen said grimly. "Even if it's the 'Presbyterian Church,' they might just be trying to rob you. Or maybe Gao Lan has already noticed and is playing along."

Si Qi stared at the coordinates, his fingertips tapping lightly on the console, his brain racing. After a moment, a cold, almost cruel smile curved his lips:

"Then go and see what kind of 'person' they want to make friends with."

He would never let Shao Wei out of his sight. But he had to keep this appointment. This was his only chance to break the deadlock.

"Do you need any arrangements?" Silver Fox asked in a low voice, his hand already on the weapon.

"Yes. But not you." Si Qi looked out the window at the dark night, his eyes sharp as a knife. "They asked to go alone, so I will go alone. You have a more important mission."

An even more daring and crazy plan quickly took shape in his mind. He didn't want a simple deal or negotiation, but to use this meeting to completely muddy the waters and draw out all the evil spirits, once and for all!

He returned to the bedside. Shao Wei seemed disturbed by the noise, his brows slightly furrowed, and he was not sleeping peacefully. Si Qi leaned over and kissed him lightly between the eyebrows, whispering in his breath, "Don't be afraid, wait for me to come back."

This time, he will never break his promise.

The next day, Si Qi acted as usual, even more attentively caring for Shao Wei than usual, administering a gentle pheromone soothing treatment. It wasn't until evening that he nonchalantly told Shao Wei, "I'm going out for a bit to check the peripheral sensors with Dr. Chen. I'll be back soon."

Shao Wei was reading a book. He looked up at him and stared at him quietly with his icy blue eyes for a few seconds before nodding lightly, "Yeah."

No questions, no doubts, only complete trust.

This trust weighed like the heaviest stone on Si Qi's heart. He shook Shao Wei's hand firmly, turned around and strode away, not daring to look back.

The night was dark and the wind and snow started again.

Si Qi, driving a snowmobile alone, glided into the snow like a ghost, speeding towards the agreed freight station. His figure quickly disappeared in the vast snow.

The freight station had long been abandoned, its massive warehouse looming like a dormant black beast in the snow. All around was silence, save for the whimpering of the wind across the tin roof.

Si Qi hid his snowmobile far away and stalked the area like a cheetah, stealthily sneaking in. He chose a commanding vantage point—an abandoned water tower—that offered both a good overview and a convenient retreat. The cold was biting, but he seemed oblivious. All his senses were heightened as he waited patiently.

Time passes by every second.

Ten o'clock in the evening.

Two beams of headlights pierced the snow as a black SUV slowly drove into the ruins of the freight station and stopped in the middle of the empty field. The door opened, and three men in black coats, their faces indistinct, stepped out, glancing around warily.

There was no one else. It seemed that there were only three people on the other side.

Si Qi did not move, still lurking in the darkness, like the most patient hunter.

The leading man looked at his watch, seemed a little impatient, and said something into the communicator.

A few minutes later, another light came on from another direction! A modified van with blacked-out windows drove in and stopped next to the SUV.

The back door of the truck opened, and two armed men in "Watchmen" uniforms jumped out. Then, they dragged out a man with a black hood covering his head, his hands tied behind his back, and his steps unsteady!

Siqi's pupils suddenly contracted! Although he couldn't see the face clearly, the figure, the faint yet familiar pheromone fluctuations...

It’s Shao Wei!

How is that possible?! He clearly left Shao Wei in a safe place, guarded by Silver Fox and Dr. Chen!

Shock and rage surged through Si Qi's head like magma! His pheromones threatened to explode uncontrollably! But he gritted his teeth and forced himself to calm down. No! The aura was similar, but something seemed...off. Weaker, more...hollow?

At this moment, the leading man in the SUV sneered and said, "Mr. Siqi, have you had enough of the show? We've brought the 'people' you wanted. Where's the 'goods' we wanted?"

He paused, his tone tinged with sarcasm. "Or do you want to see for yourself if we completely remove the glands of this precious 'experimental subject', will the data in 'Pandora' become more interesting?"

As he spoke, one of his men beside him suddenly raised his hand and pulled off the hood of the tied man!

Under the hood, there was a face that was extremely similar to Shao Wei, but even paler and more numb, with a hollow and lifeless look in his eyes! One could even say that it was more like a puppet carefully crafted based on Shao Wei's appearance!

Si Qi's heart seemed to be gripped by an ice-cold hand, and he understood instantly!

A clone! Or more likely, a failed product from the earlier "Twin Project"! Gao Lan actually used this method to provoke and deceive!

The real Shao Wei is still safe! But that doesn't mean he's out of danger! Gao Lan used this bait to lure him out, and the real target is probably...

Lure the tiger away from the mountain!

Be safe!

Si Qi's back was instantly soaked with cold sweat! He didn't even have time to think about the shock and anger brought by this clone. The huge fear directed at Shao Wei almost suffocated him!

He must go back immediately!

Just when his mind was shaken and he was about to evacuate at all costs—

Bang!

A crisp gunshot broke the silence of the snowy night!

The bullet was not aimed at Siqi, nor at the clone, but accurately penetrated the shoulder of the man leading the SUV!

"Ah!" The man screamed and staggered to the ground!

The sudden change left everyone stunned!

"Who is it?!" The people in the SUV and the truck were suddenly panicked and drew their guns to look for the source of the shooting!

Bang! Bang!

Two more gunshots were heard, and the two team members escorting the clones on the truck fell to the ground!

There is more than one hunter in the dark!

Si Qi crouched down, his heart pounding. Was it the Presbyterian Church? A gang robbing gang members? Or... was Gao Lan trying to silence him?

In the wind and snow, several figures wearing white snow camouflage uniforms appeared from all directions like ghosts. Their firepower was fierce and accurate, instantly suppressing the people on the off-road vehicle and the truck!

The battle broke out suddenly and fiercely! Gunshots, screams, and the whistling of wind and snow mixed together!

The clone thrown in the middle of the field trembled at the sound of gunfire, and a hint of human fear seemed to be revealed in its empty eyes.

Si Qi's mind raced. No matter which side was attacking, this moment of chaos was his opportunity! He had to take advantage of the chaos and leave immediately!

However, just as he was about to retreat quietly——

A dazzling searchlight suddenly lit up from a distance and hit the water tower where he was accurately!

A cold yet familiar voice, amplified by a loudspeaker, came through the wind and snow, with a hint of cat-and-mouse playfulness:

"Siqi, it seems that you are not very satisfied with the 'gift' I gave you."

It’s Gao Lan!

He wasn't even among the group down there! He was hiding further away, giving orders!

"How about we try a real one?" Gao Lan's voice was filled with a malicious smile.

As he spoke, another searchlight suddenly hit the entrance in the other direction of the freight station!

The hood of an armored vehicle opened, and two men roughly grabbed the arms and dragged Shao Wei out! His mouth was taped, his face pale as paper, but his icy blue eyes burned with cold anger as he struggled fiercely! The gauze behind his neck seemed to have been roughly torn, and the edges were stained with glaring blood!

The real Shao Wei! He was indeed attacked by surprise. Be safe!

Si Qi's eyes instantly turned red! All his calmness and calculations collapsed! The violent sandalwood pheromones burst out of his body like a tsunami, even stirring up the surrounding wind and snow!

"Gao-Lan-!"

He let out a roar that was almost like a beast, no longer caring about hiding, and jumped down from the water tower, rushing towards the armored vehicle like an angry lion!

What plans! What gambles! All vanished in this moment! He only wanted Shao Wei! Anyone who dared to touch him would be torn to pieces!

The wind and snow grew stronger, and the gunfire became more frequent.

The real crematorium has just begun to ignite the flames of hell.
