My Crazy Alpha
There is an ancient stone circle hidden in the back garden of Rose Manor.
Twelve massive stones, each two feet tall, formed a perfect circle, with a stone platform in the center, engraved with mysterious runes. When Si Qi arrived, pushing Shao Wei's wheelchair, the full moon had just risen directly above the stone formation, its silvery light casting a strange blue glow on each rune.
"The timing is perfect." Grandfather Shao stood at the entrance of the stone formation, holding a bronze box in his hands. "The full moon is when the energy is strongest."
Si Qi glanced down at Shao Wei. After a day of rest and special care, his complexion had improved considerably, and the pheromone balance brought about by the temporary marking had also saved his life. However, to fully recover, he had to complete the blood alliance ritual.
"Are you ready?" Si Qi asked softly.
Shao Wei looked up at him, the moonlight casting star spots in his cold eyes: "Yeah."
His calmness made Siqi's heart tighten. Three days ago, this man had believed he would die in silence; now, they were about to perform an ancient ritual that could alter Alpha physiology.
Grandfather Shao opened the bronze box and took out two bone daggers and a braided rope. "Wolf and deer, hunter and elf, the most unlikely pairing, yet also the most balanced in nature."
Si Qi frowned: "Deer?"
The old man gave Shao Wei a meaningful look. "Why do you think Xiao Wei's pheromone is cedar? Why can he tolerate your wolf marking?" He picked up a dagger. "Because he has the genes of a deer-type Alpha dormant in him, just like you have the wolf hidden in you."
Shao Wei's eyes widened slightly: "You always knew?"
"I've read the reports from your father's lab." The old man handed the dagger to the two men. "Project A-Ω was originally intended to create a perfectly complementary Alpha pair. But their mistake was trying to force a union through artificial means, rather than letting fate take its course."
Si Qi took the dagger, the bone handle of which was engraved with a wolf's head; Shao Wei's was engraved with deer antlers. Both daggers shone like pearls in the moonlight.
"The ritual is divided into three steps," the old man explained. "First, there's the blood exchange, then the pheromone fusion, and finally, the oath binding. No matter what happens during the process, don't interrupt it, otherwise..."
"Otherwise?" Si Qi asked.
The old man didn't answer directly: "You have already made a temporary mark, you should be able to bear it."
The stone platform in the center of the stone formation was just large enough for two people. Si Qi carried Shao Wei up and stood opposite him. Moonlight streamed down vertically, drawing a silver line between them.
"Let's start." Shao Wei said softly, and took the initiative to unbutton his collar to reveal the scabbed wound on the back of his neck.
Si Qi took a deep breath, picked up the bone dagger, and slashed his palm. Blood immediately gushed out, dripping along the lines of his palm onto the runes on the stone platform. Shao Wei did the same, and their blood mingled on the stone surface, causing the runes to suddenly glow red.
"Switch now," the old man instructed.
Si Qi pressed his bleeding palm against Shao Wei's, interlocking their fingers. A strange warmth instantly spread from the point of contact, stronger and deeper than the temporary mark. He felt his pheromones surge toward Shao Wei like a tide, while Shao Wei's pheromones also flowed into his body continuously.
Shao Wei jerked his head back, a soft, unhuman sound emanating from his throat. His body began to change—his limbs grew longer, his neck more graceful, and most strikingly, his eyes, whose pupils took on the horizontal stripes characteristic of deer.
"Keep going!" the old man shouted. "Don't stop!"
Si Qi was also enveloped by the changes. His canines lengthened again, his nails hardened and sharpened, and his ears shifted slightly upward, becoming pointed. But the most peculiar thing was that he could feel every subtle change in Shao Wei, as if it were happening to him himself.
When their blood had completely mixed and the rune's red glow had reached its peak, the old man threw the braided rope toward them: "Now, the oath!"
The rope automatically wrapped around their clasped wrists, tying itself like a living thing. Si Qi felt an invisible force guiding him to speak:
"Blood as alliance, soul as bond..."
Shao Wei's voice rang out in sync with his: "...I will never leave you in this life, and I will never abandon you in this world..."
The rope suddenly tightened, cutting into their flesh. Simultaneously, their pheromones formed a visible vortex above the stone platform—silver-gray wolf pheromones and pale green deer pheromones intertwined and swirled, eventually merging into a new, metallic, emerald silver color.
All the stones in the stone formation hummed in unison. Si Qi felt a surge of powerful energy rising from his feet to his head, and countless unfamiliar images flashed before his eyes—more than one encounter in the garden during his childhood, a fleeting glimpse at the Shao family banquet, Shao Wei's smile hidden beneath her veil on her wedding day... Some of these memories were his, while others were clearly Shao Wei's. Now, they were all intertwined, making it impossible to distinguish one from the other.
When the light faded, Si Qi found himself kneeling on the stone platform, holding the equally exhausted Shao Wei in his arms. A rope-like mark, like a birthmark, remained on each of their wrists.
"Did it succeed?" Si Qi asked hoarsely.
Grandfather Shao was about to answer when a shrill alarm suddenly rang out from the manor. The old man's face suddenly changed: "They found this place!"
Almost immediately, the roar of helicopters and the screech of cars screeching to a halt could be heard in the distance. The bodyguard rushed over, "Sir! At least twenty fully armed men have breached the outer defenses!"
Si Qi immediately protected Shao Wei behind him, even though he himself had also consumed a lot of physical strength from the ritual. His wolf-like features had not yet completely faded, and his canine teeth gleamed coldly in the moonlight.
"Take Xiaowei through the secret passage!" the old man ordered the bodyguard, then turned to Siqi, "You go too! The Blood Alliance needs at least 24 hours to stabilize. Fighting now is too dangerous!"
Si Qi shook his head. "I won't run away again." He turned to Shao Wei and was surprised to find that although he was weak, his eyes had regained clarity and his deer-like features were still partially retained. "Can you walk?"
Shao Wei tried to stand up, his movements much more agile than before: "Yes."
The old man was about to dissuade them when he heard the sound of fighting in the front yard. A woman's voice came through the loudspeaker: "Siqi! I know you're in there! Come out and see me!"
The voice was strangely familiar. Si Qi frowned, motioning Shao Wei to hide at the edge of the stone formation while he headed toward the source of the sound. On the front lawn, a dozen heavily armed men had already secured the entrances and exits. Standing in the front was a tall woman in black tactical gear, removing her helmet.
In the moonlight, that face struck Si Qi like a bolt of lightning—it bore a striking resemblance to him, though with softer features. The woman was in her early thirties, her gray eyes sharp as knives.
"Finally we meet, brother." She said, her voice carrying the familiar family tone of Si Qi, "I am Si Yue."
Si Qi's mind went blank. He had never heard that he had a sister.
"Don't be so surprised." Si Yue sneered, "I was only five years old when my father sent you away. But I have always been paying attention to you, especially after you unexpectedly became the best sample for Project A-Ω."
Grandfather Shao stepped forward: "The eldest daughter of the Si family...I should have thought of it earlier."
Si Yue's gaze swept over the old man and stopped at the stone formation behind Si Qi. "Oh? Has the blood alliance been completed?" Her expression turned dangerous. "What a pity! I can only take you back with me."
"Why?" Si Qi asked, "What do you want?"
"The perfect Alpha army." Si Yue said as if it were a perfectly ordinary matter. "Imagine the fighting instincts of wolf-type Alphas combined with the agility and perception of deer-types, connected into a network through blood alliances... We can create an invincible army."
This crazy idea made Si Qi sick. He turned to look at Shao Wei, who was quietly observing the situation, his deer-shaped pupils glowing faintly in the darkness.
"I won't help you." Si Qi turned to Si Yue, "and I won't let anyone touch Shao Wei again."
Si Yue sighed, "I knew this would happen. Luckily, my father was prepared." She gestured, and two of her men came forward, bringing a blindfolded man with them. "Would you like to meet me?"
When the blindfold was removed, Si Qi was shocked to see a face that was almost identical to his own - only younger and more... docile.
"Your replacement," Si Yue said proudly. "Same genetic sequence, but without your annoying rebelliousness. He will be the perfect match for Shao Wei. After completing the blood alliance—"
Her words were interrupted by the sound of an arrow piercing the air. An arrow, pinpoint accuracy, pierced the communicator in her hand. Everyone turned to look at the source of the arrow—Shao Wei, standing at the edge of the stone formation, a longbow in his hand, his eyes gleaming with a sharpness Si Qi had never seen before.
"I only want Siqi." His voice was not loud, but it was clearly heard throughout the room. "Everyone else, get out."
Si Yue's expression changed from surprise to ecstasy: "The deer-type trait has awakened! It's perfect!" She waved to her men, "Capture them alive!"
The battle was imminent. Si Qi instantly transformed into a wolf, pouncing on the nearest enemy. His movements were faster and more brutal than ever, each strike laced with primal savagery. Even more remarkable, he could sense Shao Wei's position and status, like a real-time map in his mind.
Shao Wei's deer-like qualities grant him incredible agility. He leaps and weaves between the stone formations, each arrow accurately striking his enemies in non-lethal areas. When someone approaches, he senses them and easily avoids them, as gracefully and swiftly as a real deer.
Seeing her men unable to take the enemy down, Si Yue personally joined the fray. Her pheromones suddenly erupted—also wolf-like, but more sophisticated and restrained than Si Qi's. Si Qi was momentarily overpowered, receiving a claw on the shoulder.
"Si Qi!" Shao Wei's exclamation sounded in his mind, not through the air, but through the blood alliance connection.
The next second, an arrow grazed Si Yue's cheek, forcing her to retreat. Si Qi seized the opportunity to counterattack, but just as he was about to succeed, he suddenly froze—some powerful pheromone suppression came from a distance, causing all the wolf-type Alphas to instinctively lower their heads.
A tall figure stepped down from the helicopter. He had gray hair, a hooked nose, and sharp eyes, just as Si Qi remembered him—his father, Si Zhen, the head of the Si family.
"That's enough." Si Zhen's voice was not loud, but it silenced the whole audience. "This farce should end."
Si Qi forced himself to stand up straight, resisting the obedience instinct in his blood: "Father..."
Si Zhen's eyes swept over his son, and when he saw the blood alliance mark on his wrist, he frowned slightly: "I thought you would be smarter."
"They want to use us to make weapons!" Si Qi accused.
"It's not a weapon, it's evolution," Si Zhen corrected. "The Alpha group has been stagnant for too long. Project A-Ω is about pushing the limits of physiology."
Grandfather Shao sneered: "Using children's lives for experiments?"
Si Zhen finally looked at the old man: "Mr. Shao, don't pretend to be noble. There are as many corpses in your son's laboratory as there are in me."
This sentence detonated Shao Wei like a bomb. He suddenly leaped from the height of the stone formation, landing as light as a deer, his longbow pointed directly at Si Zhen: "My father...what did he do?"
Si Zhen seemed to have just noticed Shao Wei's change, surprise flickering in his eyes. "The deer-type trait has fully awakened...at least five years earlier than expected." He mused, "It seems the Blood Alliance is more effective than we imagined."
"Answer me!" Shao Wei's voice trembled with anger.
Si Zhen shrugged. "To put it simply, after your father discovered the possibility of forced labeling among Alphas, he began secretly screening babies for recessive traits. You are the ninth 'deer', and Si Qi is the seventh 'wolf'. In theory, you are not the best match..."
"In theory?" Si Qi grasped the key words sharply.
Si Yue took over the conversation. "The best pairings are supposed to be complementary. Wolves with wolves, deer with deer. But your two genetic sequences are surprisingly highly compatible." She looked at Shao Wei. "That's why your pheromone disorder improved after the marking—it's not a disease, but a precursor to the awakening of your trait."
This explanation stunned both Si Qi and Shao Wei. So the so-called "terminal illness" was actually...
"You are evolving," Si Zhen concluded, "but the process is... a bit painful."
Shao Wei's hands trembled slightly. "Where are the failed experiments?"
There was a moment of silence. Si Zhen's expression said it all.
Si Qi felt sick. He looked at Shao Wei, sensing the same anger and sadness through their blood alliance. Without words, they made their decision simultaneously.
"We will not participate in your crazy plan." Si Qi stood beside Shao Wei, "The blood alliance has been completed, and no one can break us up."
Si Zhen sighed. "I knew this would happen. Fortunately..." He gestured, and the young "replacement" stepped forward. "We still have Plan B."
The substitute suddenly released pheromones—strikingly similar to Siqi's, but lacking a certain depth. Shao Wei instinctively took a step back, his face pale.
"Do you feel it?" Si Yue said proudly, "Even with a blood alliance, the same pheromone can affect you. Imagine if we had ten or a hundred copies of this..."
Si Qi suddenly understood their plan—to use the substitute's pheromones to disrupt or even overwhelm the Blood Alliance connection, ultimately forcing Shao Wei to surrender. This thought unleashed his wolfish nature, and his pheromones erupted uncontrollably.
Just as the conflict was about to escalate, an unexpected voice interrupted:
"Stop it."
Everyone turned. Grandfather Shao stood in the center of the stone formation, holding a red push-button device. "I've buried enough explosives beneath this manor to flatten half a mountain," he said calmly. "Either leave now, or die together."
For the first time, Si Zhen's expression cracked: "Are you crazy?"
"You've lived to be eighty years old, that's enough," the old man sneered. "But your research... can you start all over again?"
The air froze. Finally, Si Zhen slowly raised his hand, signaling his men to retreat. "That's all for today. But remember, the Blood Alliance is only the beginning, not the end." He gave the two young men a meaningful look. "We'll meet again."
The helicopter blades began to spin again. When the last car left the manor, Grandfather Shao released the button and suddenly stumbled. Si Qi and Shao Wei rushed forward to support him.
"It's just bluffing..." The old man laughed weakly, "There's no explosives."
Si Qi then realized that the old man's back was soaked with cold sweat. Shao Wei hugged his grandfather tightly, his body still trembling slightly.
"They won't give up." Shao Wei whispered.
Si Qi put his arm around his shoulders: "Neither will we." Through the blood alliance, he could feel Shao Wei's fear and determination. "Now, we are one."
In the moonlight, the blood alliance marks on the two men's wrists glowed slightly, like a silent oath.
