"You're really messing things up; you almost ruined a perfectly good plan."
Qiao Lina glared angrily at Ye Chen.
Faced with Qiao Lina's anger, Ye Chen calmly said, "How did I act recklessly?"
"Didn't you see that Li Wei had ill intentions?"
"This guy claims he'll teach Ruoxi how to play golf, but he actually just wants to take advantage of her."
Are you blind?
"You!" Qiao Lina's chest heaved with anger as she glared at Ye Chen.
"Do you even need to tell me? Of course I know."
"I was trying to figure out how to help Ruoxi out of that predicament."
"If you hadn't interfered, things wouldn't have gotten to this point."
"Who Li Wei wants to take advantage of is none of my business."
"But Ruoxi is different. She is my woman, and no one can hurt her."
Ye Chen said firmly.
Lin Ruoxi, who was standing to the side, was immediately moved to tears, her face filled with happiness.
"Lina, Ye Chen is doing this for my own good, so you can't blame him."
Lin Ruoxi quickly stood up to defend her man.
Qiao Lina frowned when she saw Lin Ruoxi protecting Ye Chen so much.
"Ruoxi, I think you've really been bewitched by him."
"Okay, even if we don't talk about this, how do you explain hitting someone?"
"Do you know what the consequences of your actions will be?"
"It's only right to accept the consequences of a bet. He tried to cheat, so it's not unreasonable for me to beat him up," Ye Chen said nonchalantly.
"You!" Qiao Lina glared angrily at Ye Chen.
"Ye Chen, do you know how much effort I put into getting this person to agree to a date?"
"Alright, alright, Lina, the project negotiation hasn't been ruined yet, so don't blame Ye Chen," Lin Ruoxi said.
"Ruoxi, if you keep protecting him like this, something bad will happen sooner or later."
After saying that, Qiao Lina walked away angrily.
"Ye Chen, don't blame Lina."
"I asked Lina for help with this, and she put in a lot of effort," Lin Ruoxi said.
"It's nothing, I didn't take it to heart."
Ye Chen smiled and said, "I only care about things that concern you."
Lin Ruoxi felt a sweet warmth in her heart and hugged Ye Chen's arm with both hands.
"Ye Chen, you're so kind, I'm so happy."
Ye Chen gently stroked Lin Ruoxi's nose, and then the two left the golf course together, the atmosphere very harmonious.
Ye Chen had just stepped out of the golf course when he saw Qiao Lina walking towards him.
"Ruoxi, I have something I'd like to talk to him about alone."
"Lina, what do you want to talk to Ye Chen about?"
Lin Ruoxi raised her eyebrows slightly as she spoke, a hint of doubt flashing across her face.
"It's alright, Ruoxi, you can wait for me in the car," Ye Chen said softly.
Seeing this, Lin Ruoxi nodded gently.
After Lin Ruoxi left, Ye Chen looked at Qiao Lina.
"Miss Qiao, Ruoxi isn't here right now. What would you like to talk to me about?"
"Ye Chen, I hope you can leave Ruoxi on your own initiative."
Qiao Lina said in a deep voice, her eyes fixed on Ye Chen.
"You are not good enough for Ruoxi."
"Ruoxi is outstanding in appearance, figure and ability."
"Only an outstanding man is worthy of Ruoxi."
"I think I'm pretty good," Ye Chen said.
Qiao Lina snorted, clearly disdainful of Ye Chen's words.
"I admit you're handsome, but what's the use of just being handsome?"
"What Ruoxi needs is a man who can help her."
"Besides being impulsive and reckless, I see absolutely no redeeming qualities in you."
"You can't help Ruoxi; you'll only drag her down."
"Miss Qiao, this is between Ruoxi and me. Aren't you being a bit too nosy?" Ye Chen said in a curt tone.
“I am Ruoxi’s best friend, of course I am qualified.”
"You are not good enough for Ruoxi. You'd better leave on your own, otherwise..."
Before Qiao Lina could finish speaking, Ye Chen left.
There's no point in wasting time here; we can't see eye to eye.
“You…” Qiao Lina was so angry that she stomped her feet when Ye Chen ignored her.
"Ye Chen, the most valuable quality in a person is self-awareness."
"Ye Chen, what did Lina say to you? She seemed quite excited."
Lin Ruoxi looked at Ye Chen and asked curiously.
"She said I can't be allowed to bully you or let you down, or I'll be in big trouble."
Ye Chen smiled slightly and said to Lin Ruoxi.
"Did she really say that?" Lin Ruoxi looked at Ye Chen with some suspicion.
After all, Qiao Lina and Ye Chen had just had a bit of an unpleasant encounter.
"Of course it's true. You can ask her if you don't believe me," Ye Chen said.
"I see." Lin Ruoxi immediately smiled.
"So what did you say?" Lin Ruoxi asked, her interest piqued.
"That won't happen, or I'll be struck by lightning."
"No, Ye Chen, I don't want you to make such a vow."
"Don't do that again next time. I believe you," Lin Ruoxi said.
Lin Ruoxi looked at Ye Chen, feeling a sweet warmth in her heart.
If the circumstances had allowed, she would have loved to kiss Ye Chen.
Just then, Ye Chen's phone rang.
Ye Chen took out his phone and saw that it was Hong Sihai calling.
"Ruoxi, I'm going out to take this call."
Ye Chen said to Lin Ruoxi, then opened the car door and got out.
"Xiao Si, what's up?" Ye Chen asked after the call connected.
"Master Ye, Hong Yi has escaped." Hong Sihai's voice rang out.
Ye Chen frowned slightly and said in a deep voice, "What's going on?"
