Chapter 11 011 General, is this current Ghost King still...?

Chapter 11 011 General, is this current Ghost King still...?

No one understands the power of gossip better than Yun Tianjiao. Now, rumors about her sleeping with several men in one night are flying all over Yun Chi Kingdom. It seems that she and the Ghost King are in the same boat, sharing the same fate.

She wasn't particularly interested in the Ghost King's romantic affairs and was about to discuss with Zhiwei whether they should go somewhere else when she suddenly heard a commotion and fighting coming from the first floor of the theater.

She peeked down and was stunned to see a half-bloodied person crawling laboriously on the ground.

The reason it is described as half a person is because the person's body below the waist is gone. He is dragging half of his body on the ground with difficulty, supporting himself only with his two hands, leaving a bloody trail as wide as a person.

The man was disheveled and filthy. As he dragged himself forward, he tilted his head back and started cursing at the person opposite him.

The person being scolded, wearing a crown and tassels, was dressed as a young emperor. He was holding a knife in one hand, about to chop up the half-person on the ground.

Judging from their expressions, both sides seemed determined to tear each other apart. One was calling the ruler a "tyrant," and the other a "treacherous minister." Fortunately, there were people on both sides pulling each other apart and trying to mediate, which prevented them from getting into a fight.

"Damn it, how dare you act so arrogantly in front of me? You don't want to live anymore!"

Just as things were in complete chaos, a sharp, shrill shout suddenly rang out. The gongs and drums on stage stopped, the performance ceased, and the theater fell silent in an instant.

The beautiful but fierce-looking proprietress of the theater rushed out and kicked the half-human ghost away.

"His Majesty the Ghost King has strictly forbidden revealing your true ghost form within the Ghost Realm! Are you out of your mind?! Change back right now! You've had a few drinks and you don't even know your own name anymore? You think you can fly to the heavens?!"

The half-human ghost seemed to have been jolted awake. After a moment of stunned silence, it transformed back into a fair-skinned and refined young man.

A dog demon who had some connection with the young ghost stepped in to smooth things over: "Don't be so nervous. I heard that His Majesty the Ghost King has gone to the mortal realm and isn't in the ghost realm right now. It's nothing to occasionally reveal his true form..."

"Shut your dog mouth! Does the absence of His Majesty the Ghost King mean there is no law?" the proprietress shouted, hands on her hips.

The dog demon chickened out and silently retreated back into the ranks of the ghosts.

"And you too!" The proprietress didn't let the emperor-dressed man off the hook either. "Your Majesty Wencheng! You were once a monarch, after all. Can you please stop bringing up those old, trivial matters between you two? You've been dead for hundreds of years. You're not ashamed, but I'm ashamed for you!"

The emperor and his minister were so humiliated by the insults that they quickly slunk away. The commotion was thus quelled by the proprietress with the ease of chopping vegetables.

Some lecherous men in the crowd, their eyes darting over the proprietress's voluptuous figure, jeered, "Hey, Fairy, you'd better change your bad temper, otherwise you'll be wasting your pretty face, no man will want you!"

"Pah!" The fairy spat, hands on her hips. "Why don't you take a piss and look at yourselves? Do you even want me? My husband is a great hero who fought on the battlefield to protect our country! He's going to be deified after he dies!"

The audience immediately erupted in boos.

"Come on, stop bragging. You've been talking about your great general husband for decades, but he's never come looking for you."

"Whether he comes to me or not is none of your business! Do you still want to watch the show? If you do, shut up. If not, get the hell out of here! Don't just spread your stench with your tongue. You're all talk and no action, even a whore won't get it in bed!"

The fairy maiden fought ten men single-handedly, showing no restraint and focusing on the male ghosts' weaknesses, leaving them speechless and dumbfounded.

Even after leaving the theater, Yun Tianjiao couldn't help but laugh. He found the theater's proprietress to be bold and outspoken, and he developed a certain fondness for her.

"She really knows how to yell, and with such a fiery temper, how can her business be so successful? She's quite an amazing person."

Zhiwei said, "Women are already subject to many restrictions in the mortal world. If they cannot be carefree even as ghosts, wouldn't that be pitiful?"

"In that case, the Ghost Realm is not bad."

Zhiwei paused, then looked at Yun Tianjiao: "Does Your Highness like the Ghost Realm?"

"I quite like it; the Oni Clan is very interesting."

Yun Tianjiao raised his head. At this moment, the sky of the Ghost Realm was a mixture of blue and purple, as if paint had been spilled and blended together, wrapped in the glow of the sunset and the Milky Way.

"The ghost realm is also very beautiful."

This ghostly realm seemed to have lessened her fear of the impending death.

"However..." Yun Tianjiao changed the subject, revealing a somewhat disgusted expression, "The roads in this Ghost Realm are indeed rugged. Even wearing such thick-soled boots, they feel uncomfortable on my feet. Why hasn't anyone suggested to the Ghost King that he repair the roads in this Ghost Realm..."

Before he could finish his sentence, Yun Tianjiao suddenly fell silent.

She looked down and initially thought they were rough, protruding mounds of earth and stones, but upon closer inspection, she realized they were actually large, dazzling gems embedded in the road!

"..."

This ghost realm... is fucking rich!

You must have received a lot of paper money burned in the mortal world!

As they spoke, the two had already left the Ghost Market area and entered the relatively quiet Ghost Quarter, stopping outside the gate of a large mansion.

The mansion has flying eaves and brackets, and a pair of stone lions guard the entrance. At first glance, it is no different from the mansions of the nobles in the capital. However, the lanterns hanging under the porch are lit with blue light, which makes it look eerie.

Zhiwei stepped forward and knocked on the door. A short while later, a young man who looked like a doorman came out.

"Oh, another one. Come in."

The boy saw the two of them and, without asking why, let them in.

"General You Wei is not currently in the manor. Please wait here for a while." The young man led them to the entrance of a side hall and then prepared to leave.

Yun Tianjiao asked, "When will General You Wei be able to return?"

The boy glanced at her disdainfully, "I don't know, the ones inside who have been waiting the longest have already been here for six days."

Yun Tianjiao didn't understand what the boy meant by "those inside" until she and Zhiwei pushed open the door to the side hall.

Good heavens, there were dozens of people inside, all seemingly waiting to see General You Wei.

The ghostly guests in the side hall looked over expectantly when the door opened, but their expressions turned to disappointment when they realized it wasn't General You Wei.

"So, you also want to get an audience with His Majesty the Ghost King through General You Wei, right?" asked a portly man dressed as a middle-aged official.

Zhiwei replied casually, "Is that so?"

"Sigh, give up." The man immediately waved his hand, then pointed to himself and the others, "See? We all came here for this!"

Yun Tianjiao was curious, "Since everyone is doing this for the same reason, why should we give up?"

"Hey, you little girl, you still don't believe in superstitions?" At this moment, another old man with a white beard spoke up, seemingly disdainful of Yun Tianjiao's ignorance and arrogance.

"Tell me, what gifts did you prepare for General You Wei's wife?" The question implied a desire to outdo them.

Yun Tianjiao was stunned. "We also need to prepare a gift for General You Wei's wife?"

"That's obvious!"

Now all the ghost guests showed expressions of disdain.

The white-bearded old man said, "Is this your first time coming to General Youwei for a favor? Don't you even understand this simple trick?"

The middle-aged man also said, "Yes, we haven't even prepared any gifts. I advise you not to waste your time and to hurry back."

Yun Tianjiao was born into wealth and had never lost when it came to being rich and powerful. How could she bear to be ridiculed by these monsters and demons? She took off the mantra hanging from her waist and slammed it on the table.

"It's just a gift, this is fine."

Hearing her tone, the ghosts all crowded around to take a closer look, thinking it was some extraordinary treasure. But after looking at it from left to right, they couldn't figure it out and scattered again.

“Young lady, forgive my bluntness, but your ordinary sword is so unreliable that it’s not even suitable for wielding a donkey’s hoof. How dare you present it as a treasure?”

"Yeah, we'd better put it away quickly, or we'll embarrass ourselves."

"At the very least, you could use a different piece of cloth to wrap the knife; can't you see it's all frayed?"

Yun Tianjiao crossed his arms and sneered inwardly, thinking that if Zhiwei hadn't sealed the incantation with magic, the demon-slaying blade energy on it alone would have scared them to death. What do they know?

Just then, the young gatekeeper returned.

"Gentlemen, General You Wei has returned to his residence. Please follow me to the main hall."

A group of ghostly guests, who had been waiting with no will to live, sprang up as if from the dead and rushed out, knocking Yun Tianjiao off balance.

Zhiwei reached out to support her in time, saying, "Your Highness, be careful."

Yun Tianjiao felt quite ashamed. He hung the incantation back on his waist, deliberately raised his head, and said coldly, "Let's go and see General You Wei."

Zhiwei responded and silently followed behind her, but when Zhiwei couldn't see her, she couldn't help but curl her lips into a smile, her eyes filled with undisguised joy.
