Chapter 77 The Seven Deadly Sins
Sima Ming's temple is located in the northwest of the central area of the entire Imperial Star.
The Gothic-style architecture makes the entire temple seem even more eerie, and almost everyone avoids it, even the sunlight.
Ming walked over slowly and saluted, then raised an eyebrow at Theo who was sitting on the chair. "It's really strange. I didn't expect His Royal Highness the Crown Prince to come to the temple to see me in person."
"Don't keep me in suspense, Siming." Theo frowned. "You should have thought about why I came to see you."
"Regarding what happened in the 'Gate', all of our personalities are being distorted, and some characteristics that don't originally belong to us—"
"'Gluttony' and 'anger'?" The man with purple eyes smiled.
".right."
Ming looked at a mural hanging behind them.
The painting shows a silver-haired woman who is ten months pregnant. A string of light and shadows casts on her abdomen, illuminating the shadows of the twins inside, half in the light and half in the dark.
"Have you heard of the 'Seven Deadly Sins', Your Highness?" Ming said.
"There was once a saying that human sins were divided into seven categories: pride, envy, wrath, laziness, greed, gluttony, and lust. When you entered the 'Gate,' these traits were maliciously magnified infinitely. This time, it was wrath and gluttony that were magnified."
"I thought these things that lack scientific basis only appeared in religious movies," Theo rubbed his forehead and frowned again. "Wait, you mean this time? Could it happen again?"
Ming walked up to the mural. "Of course, the disaster won't let us off so easily."
"Disaster?" Theo followed Ming's direction to look at the painting, and looked at the woman's abdomen.
"People can't tell what it is. From the fragmentary records, we infer that it was the split of a former interstellar consciousness. Perhaps it was extremely disappointed with living things, or perhaps it was the energy of the universe that was vibrating. In short, it split itself, and one half still possessed compassion and kindness towards living things, and landed on the planet in some form found in nature."
"And the other half, transformed into disaster."
"So, the doomsday that almost destroyed the galaxy," Theo murmured.
"These are just guesses. Maybe the planet's consciousness split off that malicious part, leading to the doomsday." Ming pointed at the carved long table with his long fingers.
Theo remembered the prophecy Ming had once uttered - don't let Him wake up.
"If we follow the prophecy, it has awakened now and wants to destroy the interstellar system again, so it appears in the form of the Zerg and the 'Gate'?"
"Not only that," Ming's eyes flashed, "its purpose is also to devour its other half. This is the innate instinct of darkness."
"Wait a minute," some thoughts flashed through Theo's mind.
"So, those monsters emerging from the darkness inside the 'Gate' are part of the disaster? And the reason why the monsters always plunder Qianzhi is because
—Is it because she is that part of the planetary consciousness that can be defined as benevolent?”
That's why she absorbs people's negative emotions and grows, that's why she was chosen as God's messenger, that's why she won't be infected by malice within the "gate"?
"Maybe."
"Maybe?"
"Because she doesn't look like she's fully awakened yet." He had once seen the girl from the apocalypse in a dream he'd been dreaming of. She was so powerful she looked down upon everything. "Just like the phoenix from the ancient planet, reborn from the ashes, she hasn't regained her strength yet."
Theo was a little annoyed and lifted up the golden hair that fell on his forehead.
He knew Qianzhi was special, but he didn't expect that even darkness was coveting her.
"Then why would the 'Gate' spread something like sin?" he asked.
Ming raised an eyebrow and chuckled. "In my opinion, Disaster loves her too. He's using this as a means to gain Qianzhi's sympathy. He's showing the sins of humanity to her, who hasn't yet awakened, and telling her that humanity is sinful and needs to be eliminated."
"Of course there is another purpose," Ming stroked the belly of the woman on the mural.
"He was using monsters to spread the evil outside the 'Gate,' just like in the apocalypse of the past. Unfortunately, in front of Qianqian, his plans on both sides were in vain. She didn't fall for his tricks to sow discord, nor did she release the monsters carrying disaster outside the 'Gate.'"
"Qianqian has been working hard to protect us." Theo's eyes flickered, and a strange bitterness and sweetness rose in his heart. "In a way, she loves us."
"Love?" Ming smiled. "Maybe."
God's love is not the same as human love, and it is not eternal.
Because human desires really are far baser than what's been shown to her.
"Oh right." Theo clenched his fingers, "There's one more thing, your magical snake ability..."
Is there any way to make her change her mind about him?
He pursed his lips tightly together as he spoke.
But Ming had already heard what he didn't want to say.
"Your Highness, although we are rivals in love, we both know that she doesn't like us to deceive her," he smiled, "So, you should be bolder. Our little guide is actually very gentle."
Because their little dodder is a soft-hearted little god.
Qianzhi was swinging on the swing in the Marshal's Mansion, bored, holding the pink rabbit that Ian gave her.
Although she really wanted to stay with Ian, looking at the increasing number of documents on Ian's desk, she decided to be patient for the time being.
The coolness of the minty pheromones on her tongue had not yet faded, but she was craving it again.
Something was clinging to her calves, patting her ankles with its soft pads.
She looked down and saw a little golden lion.
It was very small, even smaller than the leopard cub Ian had seen last time.
It was choked by the strong mint smell on Qianzhi's body and sneezed, but it still persevered in crawling up her legs.
The pads of flesh made Qianzhi's calves itchy.
The girl squatted down expressionlessly and stared at the little lion.
He stared at the little lion until it pitifully put down its paws, whimpered softly a few times, and slapped the ground twice with its tail in embarrassment.
It turned sideways to look at her again, and after a while it suddenly turned over, with its short, fat limbs facing the sky and its fat belly facing her.
This finally made the girl's lips curl up, and she flicked its wet nose with her fingers.
It immediately climbed up, hugged her finger, and licked it with its little tongue.
"You really..." They all knew how to pinch her soft spot.
She pinched the lion's ears; they were soft and warm.
The little lion squinted his eyes, looking as if he wanted Qianzhi to rub him.
"Okay," she patted the little lion's head, "it's time for you to come out, Theo."
