Chapter 24: Blatant Provocation
Qianzhi sniffed the mint scent emanating from Ian.
His scent was indeed very different from that of the other sentinels, fresh and sweet, which made her feel very comfortable.
Just now in his mental picture, she had also had a good meal.
It was like rushing into a large mint forest, making her dodder branches more energetic.
So when she heard Ian's plea, she thought for a moment.
Becoming a guide's guardian means having more opportunities to spend time with them.
It's like she can eat more mints.
It seems to be okay?
"It would be an honor to have you as my guardian, Marshal."
Feeling that she had made a good deal, Little Dodder smiled softly at Ian.
The sweet smile made Ian almost think it was his fantasy, and he didn't even dare to blink.
His Chizhi actually agreed!
"I can agree to anything you want." Ian asked immediately, fearing that Qianzhi would go back on her word.
Even if he was asked to find a way to take down the artificial sun in the universe, he would find a way to do it.
"Marshal, just come to District 9 more often to ask me for spiritual comfort." He heard the girl's simple answer.
"Just like that?" He couldn't believe his ears.
He was not asked for status or wealth, nor were there any of the outrageous demands that sentinels received when pursuing guides.
But let him come to see her more often?
"Yeah." Qianzhi nodded.
After all, there are no mint flavored sentries in District 9.
Ian had never felt anything like it.
It felt like there was a bird living in his heart, flapping its wings and almost flying out of his throat.
The extreme joy made it almost impossible for him to control the expression on his face.
"Okay, okay," the tall man, ignoring his injuries, struggled to get closer to Qianzhi, and restrainedly placed his large hand with bulging blue veins next to Qianzhi's small hand, "Then it's a deal."
Ian was afraid it was a dream.
Perhaps after waking up from the dream, he was still lying in the silent and empty treatment room, or in the Marshal's Mansion.
He even wanted to open the communicator right now and apply for guardianship documents from the Imperial Star Office.
Ding-dong.
A faint sound came from the doorway in the somewhat empty treatment room.
Qianzhi and Ian looked towards the door and saw Lian Hua's gossipy eyes and Bo Lan behind her through the crack in the door.
Lian Hua tightly covered his paw which had just hit the door frame due to excessive excitement, and gave a gossipy and flattering smile.
"Marshal, hey, you're awake."
God knows how many times she screamed in her heart right now.
He is the serious and rigid marshal of the empire!
That’s the marshal who hasn’t smiled in eight hundred years!
He was the marshal to whom only others bowed down!
She actually saw one day Marshal Ian with that passionate expression of a young boy proposing to his beloved, and also with that anxious expression of someone who was afraid that the duck he had caught would fly away!
Has the world finally gone mad?
And Lian Hua didn't know why, but he felt that the pressure of Bo Lan behind him was getting lower and lower as Ian pleaded, and in the end, he even burst out with an aura that was like murderous intent?
"Marshal." Bo Lan nodded politely to Ian. Beneath his gentle expression, his brown eyes flashed with a dazzling light.
He knew that Ian was paying some unusual attention to Qianzhi.
But unexpectedly, beneath his dull expression, he actually hid a strong possessiveness towards Qianzhi.
Moreover, he deliberately threw so many tempting conditions to the simple Qianzhi.
When Ian asked Qianzhi, Bo Lan almost wanted to rush in and interrupt them.
He couldn't imagine Chizhi leaving him.
Even the gland on the back of his neck that was marked by Qianzhi was throbbing with severe pain.
The brown wolf spirit beside Bo Lan sensed the hostility that the original body was deliberately concealing and revealed its slightly sharp fangs.
The black panther next to Ian looked at the brown wolf nonchalantly, its black tail wrapped tighter around Qianzhi's wrist.
Bo Lan lowered his eyelashes. "The Black Tower has entered the reconstruction phase. Currently, no sentinels or guides have suffered casualties. It was the Marshal's wise decision that allowed District 9 to successfully win this defense with minimal losses."
"It's good that there are no casualties," Ian turned his gaze to Qianzhi. "Speaking of decisiveness, it was Qianzhi's idea that allowed me to quickly locate the Worm Queen."
"Qianqian is indeed very sensitive to the movements of the Zerg." Bo Lan suddenly changed the way he addressed Qianzhi.
"That's true, so it's a pity for her to stay in District 9." Ian seemed not to notice his provocation.
"But she likes it."
Lian Hua's back was covered in cold sweat. He kept a smile on his face as he watched the two men who were originally discussing business suddenly start to verbally exchange sharp words.
"Marshal, Bo Lan," Qianzhi yawned slightly in the interval between the two people's "conversation" which was getting faster and faster.
Although she didn't know why they had to involve her in every sentence, she would fall asleep if she continued listening.
She has been comforting herself mentally since last night and hasn't had any rest yet.
"Please allow me to go back and rest first, you can continue your discussion." She pinched the black panther's soft tail.
The black panther let out a "Woo" sound in his throat.
The originally majestic vertical pupils expanded the moment they looked at Qianzhi, turning into cute cat-like round eyes.
It wagged its tail reluctantly and didn't let her go for a long time.
Bo Lan frowned, secretly regretting that he didn't pay attention to Qianzhi's condition.
He took the initiative to pause the increasingly tense situation between him and Ian, nodded politely to Ian again, and walked out with Qianzhi in his arms.
After all, Qianzhi's health comes first, nothing else matters.
Ian waved away the healing sentinels who came in after Bo Lan and Luo Weiya, and slowly stroked the fingers that had just touched Qianzhi.
He rubbed the gland that was clamoring with dissatisfaction again.
It doesn't matter, he still has a chance.
At least, in her eyes, there was no one.
The crisis in District 9 has been completely resolved.
Ian also had to leave District 9 because of the summons from the Emperor Star.
In response to the special situation of the Zerg in Sector 9, the Empire launched a live interstellar report.
Qianzhi sucked the sweet nectar that Lian Hua made for her while looking at the serious and majestic man in the computer.
It really doesn't look anything like the Iain Gwynne she was with.
This place was like a beast that could burst out at any time, and what she saw was a kitten that could turn over on its belly at any time.
The man on the screen explained the Ninth District's pre-war preparations, defense during the war, and post-war management in a concise and exceptionally clear manner.
After the report, when the reporter asked about the restoration of the Black Tower in District 9.
Everyone heard the man mention this in a very solemn and proud manner:
"My ward also reminded me that the outer layer of the Black Tower needs to be camouflaged and protected."
The nectar that Lian Hua had just drunk spurted out with a "puff".
Marshal Yuan, Yuan, Yuan, Yuan, Yuan, Yuan, what is this doing!
A blatant provocation and a show of affection?
(ω) Hey everyone, I won the first round! Please keep walking with Yuanshan! Come visit Yuanshan every day, okay?! Yuanshan really wants to finish this story! I beg you to have mercy on me!
