Chapter 4 Guardian
The sweet voice created seductive ripples, passing through Bo Lan's heart like a feather. He stared at the girl without blinking.
After a while, he nodded with a flushed face.
"Not bad." Qianzhi's green eyes curved and she chuckled.
That way she'll always have chocolate desserts to enjoy.
Although human food tastes good, it is not as rich and lingering as the taste of body fluids and mental power absorbed by the dodder.
She took the fingers that were pinching Bo Lan's chin, placed her hand on the bite shackle that was tightly fastened on him, turned her head and frowned at the executive officer next to her:
"My sentry is no longer at risk of attack. Can I take this thing off?"
She had seen this prop on TV in the apocalypse. Only those ferocious beasts that attacked people without reason needed to wear such shackles.
Her sentinels deserved more respect, not such heavy-handed shackles.
"Of course." The executive officer hurried forward and turned on Bo Lan's bite device.
"Also," Qianzhi extended her hand to the man who was still kneeling on one knee, motioning him to take it, "Since you are my sentinel, there is no need to address you as 'you'. Just call me Qianzhi."
She didn't want to hear the humble "you" while she was happily sucking on the chocolate. It would be such a spoiler.
"I understand," Bo Lan's brown eyes were filled with a warm light. He clenched the soft little hand in his hand and stood up.
The girl beside him will be his whole world in the future.
"Chie."
The man lowered his head and called her name seriously and gently.
It was as if he wanted to carve her name deeply into his heart.
Ange gnashed his back teeth, his fingers almost digging into his palms.
His eyes were bloodshot.
Why?
A mere admiral from the Ninth District attacked the guide, not only not receiving a judgment or punishment, but actually being marked. Furthermore, his own guide even affectionately touched his chin and cheeks!
This was beyond his understanding, and he had to admit that he was jealous to death.
He also used to wear a bite stopper, but that thing constantly undermined his dignity and told him that he would be abandoned and destroyed by the empire at any time.
He tried his best to please all the guides in the Seventh District under his jurisdiction.
They were even ridiculed, belittled, and physically and mentally punished by the guides.
Like a dog wagging its tail for mercy, he received a little bit of spiritual comfort before taking off the bite device that made him unable to raise his head.
And why is Bo Lan always so lucky?
He was so lucky to have met such an unbelievably gentle guide!
Ange stared at Bo Lan and Qian Zhi with jealousy, then stood up suddenly and sneered:
"Even if the guide agrees, so what? Article 7 of the Imperial Military Law states that for sentries that violate the law, more than half of the judges must issue a judgment!"
He raised his head and looked at the others present.
But no one responded to him. Their gazes, either sighing or yearning, were all focused on Qianzhi.
"No one will give a guilty verdict, Admiral Ang." The man sitting on the left side of the chief revealed his face which had been hidden in the shadows.
It was an overly beautiful face, almost blurring the lines of gender. Her long azure hair was tied into a bun with a black ribbon, and her lake-blue eyes were misty.
Cyril Gwen rested her wrist on her pointed chin. "Compared to your jealousy, what we want more than anything else is to be able to catch the eye of that flower of the empire."
The veins on Ange's forehead were almost popping out, and he stared fiercely at the cynical blue-haired man in front of him.
"Admiral Gwen! Your words don't represent everyone!"
Xiweier's deep eyebrows moved slightly, and he slowly spread out a disdainful smile.
"Oh? Maybe I can't," he looked away, at Qianzhi not far away, "but she can."
He was very interested in this cute little guide.
"——Guide Qian, I'm sorry, but before you take your sentinel away, we still need to test his mental map."
The soldiers at the door stopped them and put a mental detector on Bo Lan's head.
After a few seconds, the electronic sound of the instrument sounded.
[Test subject: Bo Lan, Admiral of the Ninth District, mental fluctuations peak at 88%, reaching the level to be released from custody.]
"88%?" There was an uproar at the scene.
"I remember Admiral Bo Lan was at 98% before, about to be scrapped! How come in such a short time——"
In an instant, the gazes towards Qianzhi became more intense.
This guide is more powerful than they imagined!
"88%?" Bo Lan murmured softly.
He was overwhelmed by the negative emotions that were about to reach the peak and struggled to stand up countless times.
Every time I fight alone, telling myself to hold on a little longer and not fall down.
Not just for myself, but for the people of District 9.
And now, his heart was filled with sourness and eagerness.
It's no longer just me standing behind him.
There are also thousands of branches.
"Miss Qian's abilities are truly extraordinary." A clear and melodious voice came from afar.
Sylvie walked towards Qianzhi with a smile. His military uniform was held up particularly straight by the standard men's clothes rack, making his figure look even more slender.
Coupled with his ocean-like hair color and lake blue eyes.
——Just like a colorful peacock, Qianzhi thought.
Her mind raced, and she saw Sylvie's spirit form appear beside her.
It is truly a noble and elegant blue peacock.
"Even my spirit body is out of my control and can't wait to come out and see Miss Chizhi." Sylvie walked forward and half-bowed respectfully.
"Please allow me to introduce myself. I am the Admiral of the First District and the Commander of the Imperial Guard, Sylvie Gwen."
He lowered his slender eyes obediently and stared at the black-haired girl in front of him with a smile.
"Miss Qianzhi, would you consider me as your guardian?"
