She looked forward to the Mid-Autumn Festival, anticipating the family reunion and the engagement banquet.
She longs for all the good things in the world and believes she will continue to be happy like this forever.
"I'll be with you that day, the people from the four great families will be with you, and all of us will be with you."
"Just be yourself and have fun."
Lan Jingyan's tone was gentle enough; he was equally nervous and expectant.
That day, he was finally able to announce to the world that Yan Xiluo was his fiancée and the person he loved most.
"I know you're feeling incredibly nervous. I have a gift for you that day."
“Everyone in the family has one.”
“Every guest will also receive a gift bag.”
That was a special day, and she had been preparing the gift ever since she knew about it.
Everything is ready now, even the souvenirs have been packed and placed in the base's storage room.
What gift is it?
Lan Jingyan was filled with anticipation and curiosity about everything Yan Xiluo had prepared for him.
"You'll find out on that day. It won't be long. Just be patient."
"I'll keep you curious for a few more days."
Yan Xiluo suddenly flipped over and lifted the man's chin, teasing him.
"Naughty."
"Didn't you say you were full? Why are you turning over like that? Aren't you afraid of getting a stomachache?"
Lan Jingyan placed his two large hands firmly on her waist, supporting her, worried that she might fall.
"Then come with me for a walk. I've rested enough now."
"I want to go get some fresh air."
Yan Xiluo knelt on one knee on the sofa, put the other leg on the ground to stand up, and casually pulled Lan Jingyan up from the sofa.
Lan Jingyan cooperated and got up as well.
"Go change into a jacket, it's windy outside."
Lan Jingyan led her back to the bedroom, specially choosing matching jackets for them to wear together, before finally changing his shoes and going out with her, completely satisfied.

Nameless Island
Yu lay half-reclined on the bed, her expression somewhat melancholy.
"I will be going back for the Mid-Autumn Festival banquet in a few days. After you get what you want, you will have to help me get rid of the person."
Yu smoked her cigar with a sense of unease; the closer the time came, the more anxious and uneasy she became.
That little girl's strength should not be underestimated; she managed to infiltrate her base and then escape.
She underestimated her before; if we don't get rid of her now, it will be very difficult to make a move later.
"I've already arranged the people for that day, don't worry. I'm after your money, you're after my life, that's what you said."
The man spoke with disdain, and even he himself didn't know if what he was doing was right or wrong.
Will he regret it? He got nothing before, but now he has to get something, right?
"Ten years ago, you came to me to find out what that drug was used for?"
Besides causing infertility, that drug had many other harmful effects, which Yu couldn't understand, and he had no idea who it was intended to be used on.
"You don't need to worry about that. It happened so long ago, why bother remembering it?"
The man brushed it off, not wanting to bring it up.
"Fine, I've given you the channels anyway, so you'll have to take responsibility if anything goes wrong."
"As long as they can't trace it back to me and it doesn't affect the future development of my group, I don't care."
Yu got up and stood in front of the window, pulling back the curtains. This was the middle of the nameless island, and she couldn't feel the sea breeze.
"We're in the same boat, we're bound together. You're worried I'll drag you into this little thing?"
The man laughed angrily. Wasn't what they were going to do together much riskier than this?
“I’m developing my business in the US, and this drug was developed in the US. It will definitely involve my US-based group, but these are two separate things.”
Yu just thought the man opposite her was a bit stupid.
"Okay, okay, whatever you say is right."
"Alright, I'm not going to talk to you anymore. My wife will hear this when she gets back."
The man hung up the phone, replaced the SIM card, put it in a drawer and hid it, then left the study.
What he didn't know was that the woman outside the study had already heard some of it, but how much she had heard was unknown.
Upon hearing the sound stop, the woman covered her mouth in fright and quickly fled the scene.

City A
On the overpass.
Yan Xiluo and Lan Jingyan strolled hand in hand to the overpass, watching the bustling traffic and colorful lights below.
The evening breeze gently caressed their cheeks.
Yan Xiluo's long hair fluttered in the wind.
"Baby, are you cold?"
Lan Jingyan rubbed his hands together and placed them on her ears to cover them.
"It's alright, not too cold, considering it's only a few months."
Yan Xiluo said this, but she had already crawled into his coat.
It wasn't cold, but the wind was a bit strong, making her hair a little messy.
Lan Jingyan took the hair tie off her wrist and gently swept all her hair back neatly, tying it up carefully.
"Hey, why are you wearing a hair tie?"
Yan Xiluo was pleasantly surprised. She hadn't brought any hair ties with her; she had just wanted to tie her hair up but couldn't find one.
“I bring it with me every day, just in case.”
"Aren't you touched? Is your fiancé a good enough person?"
"Please point out any other shortcomings, and I will pay attention."
Lan Jingyan rubbed the back of her head and hugged her tightly.
Yan Xiluo brazenly wrapped her two hands around his strong waist; her hands were a little cold, and she wanted to warm them up.
Luckily, it was just the two of them on the overpass, otherwise she would have been too embarrassed to hug each other and show affection.
"You're great in every way, more attentive than me, and so competent!"
"Your hug is so warm~"
Yan Xiluo snuggled closer to him, feeling like he was a walking hand warmer.
"Are you still holding on? Do you want to go home?"
Being in a public place, it wouldn't be appropriate for him to do anything too inappropriate, like kissing...
"It's alright, I estimate that I'll have digested most of it by the time I walk back."
Yan Xiluo subconsciously touched her stomach, which was now about the same size as before the meal.
She didn't feel that full.
"Then let's go back."
Lan Jingyan pulled Yan Xiluo's hand and put it into his pocket; their shadows were reflected under the streetlights...
"Ayan, I want to eat candied hawthorn."
The two walked to the bottom of the overpass, and Yan Xiluo saw an old man pushing a cart by the roadside, selling candied hawthorns.
She was missing the flavors from her childhood; she had just finished digesting them, and now she couldn't resist eating them again.
"Can you eat it? Can your stomach hold it all?"
Lan Jingyan was a little puzzled; he was worried that Yan Xiluo would overeat and upset her stomach.
Yan Xiluo nodded, her eyes fixed on the small cart.
"I can eat it, I want to eat it."
It was rare for her to shake his hand and act coquettishly again, and he really couldn't resist at all.
It wasn't that he was unwilling to spend money on food for her; he was genuinely worried that she would overeat and get a stomachache.
"Then eat less."
Lan Jingyan was so focused on taking care of her like a child that he completely forgot she was a doctor; all his worries were unnecessary.
Yan Xiluo felt sorry for the old man who was still out selling candied hawthorns so late at night; the old man looked quite old.
